THE HOTEL WAS IN A GOOD LOCATION- CLOSE TO THE METRO AND TO THE MAIN SIGHTS EG ACROPOLIS AND THE PLAKA DISTRICT.
IN GENERAL THE HOTEL WAS NICE BRIGHT AND SPACIOUS, HOWEVER IT LACKED 'SOUL'AND FELT LIKE A HOSPITAL.
I FELT THE CARPET IN THE ROOM WAS DIRTY AND THE ROOM FOR A 4* HOTEL LACKED SOME OF THE TOUCHES WARRANTED FOR THE GRADING.
THE BREAKFASTS WERE VERY GOOD WITH A NICE SELECTION OF FOODS.

The hotel and staff was very professional, friendly and courteous. The room was nice and the hotel is walking distance to the Parthenon (about 2 city blocks). Breakfast was also quite nice. I'd recommend a stay her to all my friends.

Parthenon hotel is close to the main places to visit in Athens (walking) and not in the middle of the crowdy Plaka are so you can sleep. Subway is 100 m so it´s easy to arrive from Airport and bus to Airport is 10 minutes walking like subway line to Piraeus
Bedroom was clean and quite big with satellite TV
The staff were very polite and helpful (they help us to rent a car with the right fare) and they take our bags the last day before we went to the airport
The area looks safe to walk on the night, not too many lights but I didn´t feel unsafe.
Continental breakfast with some Greek dishes, lot of different things with different desserts each day. You don´t need to have lunch with this breakfast and Plaka has lot of Tavernas and restaurants to have dinner and places to have a coffe, wine....
Internet on the hotel and WIFI for free on the whole hotel

This is the first time I had to take care of accommodations for any of our trips so I put much research into it. I went on Forums and would just ask, What Hotel in Athens would anyone recommend? It seems no one wanted to commit to that question. I am so happy that one person told me to look on Venere for Hotels and ratings. I saw the Hotel Parthenon and saw exceptional ratings so I took the plunge. I had a few glitches with our air lines and I contacted the Hotel via email and they were so helpful. I even requested they have a taxi pick us up at the airport and that way dealing with the language and euro was not something to addrress as soon as we stepped off the plane. They were there holding up our name, and took us directly to Hotel Parthenon. It cost a little more but was worth it to us.
They could not be more helpful! The breakfast was out of this world! Two different types of eggs and two or three kinds of meats along with wonderful breads both hard and soft and fruits and vegetables and coffee, OJ and tomato juice and much, much more. The kicker was that we would be having to be in the hotel lobby at 2 A.M. to get to the airport the day we had to leave and guess what, breakfast was ready!
They took care of all our tours. I didn't make one call.
Needless to say, if you are looking for the best. They are it!!

Had a great stay. Most attractive feature of the hotel is the location. It is very close to Acropolis and some other major attractions. Breakfast menu was excellent and healthy. Rooms were spacious and as the hotel seats on a quite street close to the main street, our stay was very peaceful.

I really enjoyed my stay at Parthenon. The rooms are clean, spacious and facilities are complete. The breakfast was actually good.
The location is very accessible and convenient as it is near the metro and the sites we wanted to go to.
I really wouldn't mind going back again and staying there.

The hotel is right around the corner from the Parthenon and the Akropoli metro station, but the directions from the website were poor and it took me 20 minutes to find the property. The lobby is beautiful, rooms were nice, breakfast buffet was quite generous. The neighborhood is quite tourist-friendly, with many shops and a number of restaurants within walking distance. I would recommend this as a decent hotel, but both nights I stayed I found less-than-adequate cleaning of my bathroom, and the cleaning staff in the morning was quite noisy in the (marble) hallway, waking me up before 8am. A good place for a tourist stay, and the decour is luxurious, but the beds were fairly hard. The staff was quite nice but the taxi they called for the airport charged almost 10 euro extra as a commission for the hotel--get your own taxi.

The room is exactly as pictured. The only weird quirk about the hotel is that bathroom door doesn't close completely. It is like a sliding closet door, and you see inside while someone is using it. The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of every site in Athens.

This was our first visit to Athens. Were surprised to find how far away the airport is from the city. Caught a taxi to the airport and were charged nearly double by taxi driver. I found it easier to ask someone inside the airport if I could to get a rough idea of the cost - obviously I didn't on this occasion. This hotel was one of the more upmarket hotels. It was as the name says right near the Parthenon and we were able to walk to shops, museums, parks, and most landmarks within the area. If you didn't want to walk you could go into the city area and catch a city sights train around to see the sights. Breakfast was included.

The Parthenon is immediately beneath the Acropolis hill, and minutes away from the Plaka district with its restaurants, bars and souvenir shops. It is about 20 minutes walk from the Commercial Shopping centre, the Greek parliament, the National gardens, and the Olympic Stadium built for the first modern Olympics in 1896.
It is situated in a mostly pedestrain only area away from the traffic, which is ideal for children or seniors.
The hotel is clean and bright and the staff efficient and helpful.
It is ideal for a vacation hotel in the centre of Athens and its attractions.

This hotel was very nice; however, I don't think I would call it a four star, it seems to be a three star on the whole.
The rooms were clean, spacious and welcoming, even though we got a twin room rather than the double we requested. The bathroom was also very pleasant.
Breakfast included an extensive choice, including cereal, hot food and bread, but was not veggie friendly!
The location was excellent, right near Hadrian's Arch and the Acropolis, a few minutes walk from the key 'touristy' areas, on a quiet side road.
On the whole, a good hotel to stay at whilst in Athens. Prices are slightly higher than it seems the hotel is worth, but I would definitely stay there again.

The Hotel met our expectation. Rooms slightly below par and a little tired. Reception 100% in attitude and professionalism. Excellent breakfasr area. Factory standard coffee, scrambled eggs and bacon, but everything else excellent and plenty of it. Location Bang on. Would use again!!

This was a really nice hotel in a lovely area of Athens, it was within easy walking distance of Plaka the old area of the city and right next to the Acropolis. The staff at reception were very helpful and spent a long time helping us arrange tickets for ferries to the islands and booking our taxis. As three female travellers we felt very safe walking in the area of the hotel at night. Unfortunately we did not eat breakfast on either morning of our stay but there appeared to be a good choice available in the breakfast room.

A lovely hotel, especially as we were able to arrange a late check-out. I would stay here again. The only slight negative would be the breakfast. They seemed to run out of stuff and not replace it. There was very little fresh fruit.
The staff were very nice, helpful and courteous. The location was also brilliant.

great hotel and the big surprise was that it was ten times nicer than indicated on the Net. The photos don't do it justice. The location is perfect voor Plaka and Acropolis, a couple of minutes walk and situated in a safe, quiet street but away from the bustle and noise.
Excellent staff, excellent English, actually excellent everything. Perhaps a little overpriced for Athens but considering the location not that much

The physical location of the hotel is great! It is close enough to every places we wanted to see---we walked everywhere! Took the metro once. The hotel is clean and quiet and the front desk staff is friendly and helpful. We would stay at the Parthenon again if we ever back in Athen.

Very satisfied with the hotel. The building has no overwhelming historical charm, but it is refurbished to an excellent standard. The only disappointing thing was that there is no roof terrace (but no one has promised that either). The vicinity to Akropolis is fantastic.
I had an experience which I wrote about when I arrived home:
Dear Hotel Parthenon.
I am the hopeless guest in room 414 who realized that I had forgotten my passport in the room when I was physically in the Metro very near the airport.
Will you please thank the receptionist that arranged finding my passport and sending it by taxi to the airport.
The taxi was at the airport at 11.05, and I catched the flight uneventfully. Landed in Copenhagen about 3 o'clock.
Will you please also tell the taxi company that I am very grateful for the service the driver displayed.
Again we can tell friends in Denmark that Greece is a country with helpful people.
Yours sincerely
Dorte Engelund

Location, location, location. The hotel is in the placa and is literally a 20 second walk from the shops. PLENTY of restaurants in walking distance and if you are just there to see the placa and Acropolis, then there can't be a better deal. The staff was very friendly and arranged for a triple room for a nominal fee when we gained a friend on the trip. Breakfast was American, not European so eggs and bacon were available. The rooms were not large and the view wasn't staggering, but we didn't spend too much time inside. The lobby is large and welcoming.

Very well located 4 star hotel. In the middle of Plaka (the best part of Athens, full of restaurants, commerce, etc) and a very near the Acropolis. Breakfast was good. Staff people didnt speak a good english (what can be a problem in Greece, once it was hard to understand their strong-greek-accent-english, specially for those who dont speak english as first language). Well, location is everything and We'd stay there again for sure.
It's only a SHAME that the British dont have the DECENCY to return the pieces they STOLE from Athens (and I'm not even talking about indemnization for the time the pieces werent avaiable for their owners).

The desk staff was always helpful and friendly, with excellent English. We stayed a total of 5 nights and found the location great for getting to the many places we wanted to visit. (Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Roman Agora, metro to great museums, and the Daphne Restaurant.)

The hotel is located in the center of the old City of Athens. It was accessible to all tourist spots in Athens. Restaurnats was all around the hotel and a short walking distance to the Metro Rail transit where it can take you outside Athens.
I will definitely recommend Parthenon hotel to my friends and relatives who are planning to visit Athens in the near future. I would like to thank all those employees who made our stay in Athens a pleasant one.

The location of the hotel is excellent - probably one of the very best in central Athens! Only a few minutes away from Acropoli metro station, Acropolis and the old town (Plaka). It enjoys a privileged position in a quiet pedestrian area, away from all traffic. Very nice hotel staff who speak perfect English, French and Italian (and maybe other languages as well) and who truly made us feel welcome. Good and varied breakfast. The only negative thing worth mentionining, is that noise from the corridor could be easily heard (although we were not particularly bothered by this). All in all a very nice hotel that met our expectations to the full. We would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Parthenon to others.

The staff were very professional, curteous and helpful. We appreciated the service they provided. Breakfast was more than adequate, but you should get better juice.....tasted like chemicals. Everything else seemed pretty fresh. Location worked well for our short stay.
Thank you.
