This was the poorest venere 3 star rated hotei we have ever stayed in - (it should be 2 star at best)
Up until now, we have been consistently pleased with venere, having used you for quite a few hotles over 3 major trips. Maybe not again

Only a few steps away from the Metaxourigo metro station. Balcony with nice view but heavy street noise. Small but clean room with everything working including AC. Breakfast buffet ok. Price/quality relation seem ok.

The bonus was a small balcony which looked out over the city to the Acropolis, wonderful at night when it is floodlit.
There is also a nice little roofgarden bar open in the evenings.
The hotel is very conveniently situated close to the metro.
Rooms basic but adequate.

Front desk at the hotel was pretty helpful.
First night there my wife, kid, and I took a walk to see the area. We went through a not so travelled road and it was horrible. Make sure you stick to main roads. The subway was a great way to get around.

First time to stay at Hotel Apollo. This hotel is cleaner & better than I expect. Budget hotel to stay, with balcony and breakfast is ok. Some rooms have bath tub, some rooms have shower only. Close to subway station & Larissa train station, convenient to travel to different spots. Though not far from subway, the direction to hotel is not so clear in the area (street name is not clear, map is not so clear). The guy reception in the evening is not friendly. He works in his own way, instead of working for customer. The lady in the morning is much better. This did push me away to stay for another night, though the hotel quality is ok. I left the hotel early in the morning, the room can be noisy @ traffic time. We also have problem modifying our booking. One of us cancel the trip due to fire in Greece in the last minute. According to Venere.com, 'after the cancellation deadline it is also necessary to contact the property directly, since in this case only the property can accept changes free of charge'. However, the hotel man said we can only review the modification with venere. All other hotels have agreed to modify our booking, we don't understand why Hotel Apollo cannot.

Hotel was cheap and friendly, and for its price, I can't really complain. The view from our balcony of the Parthenon was also very nice. They have a roof bar open at night with splendid food and nice service and drinks, so that is very good. Furthermore, the eccentric but friendly Swiss innkeeper Freni was a delight. However, to anyone who might consider spending more money, this hotel was in a particularly unpleasant part of town. Athens isn't really a city with many beautiful sections, but I would not recommend this area to anybody, especially the easily scared (I myself was never afraid, but there were enough unsavory characters hanging around that I could imagine how others could be). So, overall, nice hotel, great if you're on a tight budget, but a horrible part of town, so if all it takes are a few extra euros to move closer to Plaka, do so.

I booked this hotel because of the
"roof garden" with view of Acropolis.
It was as beautiful as I could imagine and even better to sit in the evening and take a long drink listening to soft music from the small bar and just relax. If I return to this hotel I´ll check before I go so roofgarden and the bar is opened.
The hotel was nice and clean and not so big. The supervisor was very kindly and we where very pleased. The air condition worked perfect and we had a quiet room although it´s situated among the street. It is also near to the metro.

Excellent value for money. Good service. We got a room on the sixth floor and the street-noise complaints that other users had made didnt at all apply. Overall a very satisfying hotel experience and we would gladly go to Apollo if going to Athens again.

My friend and I stayed in Athens for just one night so we wanted a place that was located in teh heart of teh city. Also as we are you, we wamted a place that was well priced and comfortable. The was a woman at reception named Franny who was extremely helpful and made our short stay in Athens a lot easier, it was definitely a plus that she spoke so many languages and that she was so informative about the area and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others!

The staff was very helpful and courteous the moment we arrived. They were very prompt and got us to our room in the quickest amount of time. Our stay was enjoyable due to the close proximity to tourist sites. The room itself was what I expected, not large but not cramped-just right for our stay. It was clean and room service was great. Smoking in Europe is a drag though- no pun intended. There were a few things of concern. On site laundry would be appreciated. The street noise level is a annoying at night after a long day of walking but that is somewhat not the fault of the property. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. Vfrini at the front desk was very helpful too.

This is a very nice low cost hotel. Much better than expected. Very close to the metro which makes it easy to get to from the airport and all the major sites. It is walkable from the hotel to the major sites in about 20 min. Only negative is that the hotel is on a very busy street which has loud traffic and noise all night long.

Hotel was not at all as it was described on the Venere WebSite. False advertizing. Example. There is no parking despite the web site stating the Hotel has a garage. I have been in bathrooms larger than the main room and the beds could only be described as camp beds. Poor access to the internet and limited TV channels. I would have got more sleep lying down on the sidewalk next to the road. It sounded like the cars were coming through the room.

This was a great location, but it was a bit more of an industrial area then a tourist area, which made it kinda noisy. The metro stop was very close to many choice locations however, there isn't much dinning in the area. It is an easy walk to Syntagma square - the middle of everything!! The staff were very nice and a great value for the price we paid. They were recently opened and didn't have all of their amenities ready yet. Looks like this place would get a return visit from us...we will visit you in the islands too!!

Very loud room. All rooms face a large street and you can't really sleep. Would not stay again and warm members that this is a very,
very noisey hotel. Great location. There
very nice hotels very near by cheaper and
in a quiet neighborhood. Staff were very
helpful.
