La Rosiere is located about 10 outside of Arromanche; it was a great central location to visit the D-day beaches, even more so because you are away from the touristy sites. This hotel is located on a very narrow little country road (across the street from a farm with lovely grazing horses and cows!). The grounds were beautiful and clean and our room was absolutely spotless. It is a newer type of "motor hotel," so do not expect a vintage little farmhouse (I happen to like those types of places, but modern is also good). There was an American-style breakfast buffet (cost included in the price of the room, which was nice), and I would definitely recommend this hotel if you were passing through the region.

Two points - (1) We wanted to make tea in the room and the only 'milk' provided was long life coffee creamer and there were no ceramic cups. We asked for mugs and then for a small amount of fresh milk - we were met with grumbles and them asked to pay one Euro for the milk which seemed unfriendly. (2) The heating was turned off and couldnot be turned on in the room even to dry towels. My wife and childen were cold later in the evening. We did not dare complain To balance this the food for both evening meal and b/fast was excellent but for nearly £200 for one night DB&B we considered it expensive overall given the niggles over the milk and heating.

A very well run hotel with clean and inviting rooms. Very attractive setting overlooking fields. Very easy to find on just outside Arromanches on main Bayeux Road. Traffic noise not noticeable and not a problem. No lunch evening meal but plentiful breakfast. Wi-Fi internet access works fine. Very helpful, English speaking owner. Slkimline TV but limited channels, in French only. Suggest satellite or digital connection for English and other language programme access. You will not be disappointed with your stay here.

By car
From Cherbourg head towards Caen or from Caen head towards Cherbourg on the N 13. In vicinity of Bayeux take exit 38. At Bayeux continue on the D 516 in direction of Tracy Sur Mer-Arromanches.
