Stayed for 2 days in April 2008. Wonderfully friendly welcoming and attentive staff couldn´t have been more helpful. The car parking service is really worth the cost - in town navigation through the very narrow streets in Arles is not easy - even with GPS. Each time we arrived at the door someone appeared in seconds to park the car. The location can't be beaten, right in the town centre in a leafy square surrounded by terrace cafés, including Van Gogh´s "Le Café la nuit" and nothing more than a short walk away. The hotel might just be reaching the borderline between "quaint charm" and "needs renovation" but rooms were spotless and we loved it. We hope to return a at later time of year when the pool is open. Highly recommended.

siamo stati benissimo al "Du Forum". L'hotel è centralissimo, pulito e ben curato.

This was our first visit to Arles - the hotel is in an excellent location for exploring a fascinating roman town and home of Van Gogh. We stayed for 4 nights which gave us time to explore the Camargue , Avignon and Arles itself - all stunning! The hotel is family run and the staff were attentive and very helpful -aided by their good command of english. The room was spacious and very clean with a fridge which was very useful and the bathroom was very large with an outside window. There is a lovely pool in a very secluded area at the back of the hotel - great to chill out after a day of sightseeing. We did not eat in the hotel - much cheaper to have a coffee and croissant in any of the nearby bars. In the evening we ate at a fab little bistro called Le 16 which is very close to the hotel and was recommended by reception - set menu from 14 euros - excellent value. There is garage parking - when you arrive they take your car away and park it for you and bring it back when you request it - it costs 8 euro a day but is well worth it as parking in Arles is manic. We would stay here again and thought it was good value for money. Enjoy if you go!

The Hotel du Forum exceeded our already high expectations. The hotel is very much in the 'old' style with large rooms and wide corridors. Rooms and common areas are very clean. The hotel is situated right in the middle of Arles and within easy walking distance of the many sights this beautiful town has to offer. Staff are excellent and I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone. There is a great pool surrounded by a very high wall and it is a real haven of peace.

I stayed one night here in August and it was the best hotel of my trip. The room was beautiful and spacious. There is a pool that I would have loved to have taken advantage of. The Hotel even offered free wi-fi and with my laptop I used it in my room. The staff was friendly. The hotel was right in the heart of the city and near a square full of restaurants and cafes etc. Great place to stay.

Travelled with 2 children. Booked a family room. On arrival was greeted by very friendly receptionist. Car was parked for us in private garage. Was given a very large room facing the square. 1 double and 2 twins. Old, antique (?) furniture in room. Very quaint public areas. Pool area very private and relaxing. Checked out very quickly and efficiently. Could'nt really fault this hotel at all! Would definitely recommend.

I stayed a quad room in the hotel with my wife and 2 boys. The hotel located at Place du Forum, a busy square in Arles. To reach by car with TomTom was straight forward, but I believe I could not reach the hotel without the navigation. Very prompt ballet car parking was well worth for money. Signal of Wifi in my room was too weak for my laptop, so I sat in the lobby. When I could not connect to the net at lobby, receptionins was generously reset their aDSL modem, then I was able to connect. Guests should not miss the biggest advantage to stay this hotel, that is their open air swimming pool, surrounded by walls looks like ruin, very quiet and comfortable place.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay-in fact after one night rearranged my plans to make it my home base during my stay in Provence- I found the staff friendly and helpful. My room was quiet, spacious and clean; and the location was perfect for site seeing in Arle, and nicely situated for visiting the local countryside. Would return again without hesitation...

Terrific hotel for the money. The hotel pool was an absolute treasure in the summer heat. As others have noted, the hotel is tucked away on a square. It would be tough to find if not for the brilliant directions that the hotel provides online that are illustrated with photographs. Bring them with you -- you'll be glad you did.

A really nice little hotel in a great location in the city. We are a family of 5, and the hotel has a very workable "apartment" suite for two adults and three children, overlooking the pool. The hotel staff were extremely knowledgable and friendly and were able to point us in all the right directions for sights and tastes. Beware if you are driving: Unless you are completely used to navigating the very narrow one-way streets of an old city, it can be very difficult to find the hotel. They have a garage on-site which can hold a half dozen cars, but you need to get there first! (Note: we found it on the first try, but it wasn't easy.) Also nice is the small pool in a very quiet and pretty internal courtyard. Great for a cool-down or just to relax, especially during the hot summer months.

We had a front room, overlooking Place du Forum, which is filled with covered tables for dining. Bathrooms have two liquid soap dispensers, towels and a hair dryer. Our room was large and spaceous and had a small table with two chairs which we moved in front of one of our windows for lunch and cocktails. I was very happy with the hotel and would stay there again. The Hotel du Forum quaint and charming but not modern. I'd compare it to some old NH and VT Inns. It does have free wireles and TV.

On the one hand I was super happy about the hotel's location, the size of the room, the view from my room, etc. On the other hand, I was a little taken aback by how NOT contemporary everything inside the room felt. Even with the building as old as it was, I felt the bathroom needed some renovation at least. Still, everything super clean and very friendly and helpful staff.

Great location in the heart of old Arles. The desk staff was very friendly and helpful, most spoke very good English (and other languages). They recommended some great restaurants, too. Our triple room was VERY large! This is an old, charming hotel with lots of character, surprisingly affordable, right across the plaza from Van Gogh's yellow "Cafe at Night." It was one of our favorite places we stayed in on a three-week trip. Be aware that a valet takes your car to a separate garage for a small daily charge. This could be an inconvenience if you want to take your car in and out often. But if you want to walk everywhere (and historic Arles is quite small and definitely walkable), you can't find a better, central location. Highly recommended - we would definitely stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is comfortable and couldn't be better located. A very friendly, fluent english speaking, host was a big help. Make sure you book a space for your car as space is limited and not much else nearby. Take careful note on how to get to the hotel. The streets are narrow and directions complex.

A small, charning hotel in a fabulous location, walking distance to the forum and local market. The owners were wonderful, welcoming us personally, she checking us in, he assisting with luggage and parking the car. Good breakfast included, lovely pool area. I would definately stay again if the opportunity presents itself. Be sure to ask to include parking with your reservation as parking is difficult to find. Easiest also if you arrive during the day, as it is a bit tricky to find, if only because attempting to figure out what street you are traveling on is somewhat confusing!! especially in the dark! Wonderful hotel and staff. I Highly recommend.

This hotel is the perfect choice for travellers on a budget who want the best in location. It is situated on a square full of cafes, and is within walking distance of all the sights to see in Arles. The room itself and the bathroom were huge for European standards. We travelled with a car, and it is strongly recommended that you reserve a spot in the garage if you have any hope of finding a parking spot -- we did, thank goodness!! Finding our way to the hotel was an adventure in itself trying to navigate the oh so narrow medieval, one way roads. Once we did though, it was more than worth it. The staff was friendly, and the woman at the desk on the morning we left gave us the best tip of the trip --- take a day trip to Aigues Morte, an old walled medieval town which we had not heard of otherwise. We did not take breakfast in the room.....we do not take it in the room anywhere in France as it is tends to be too much bread. Instead we bought groceries at the Petit Casino grocery stores or at the markets (way too cool!)and ate in the room. We went to the breakfast room and had only cafe au lait, which they were more than happy to do. All in all, this was one of the best hotel values that we stayed in anywhere during our two weeks in Provence! I would definitely choose this hotel if I were ever in Arles again.
Italy, Sep 2006
It is a very nice hotel, well placed in the centre of the town. Expecially nice the swimming pool, too bad the water is not heated. The parking was not clear, it sounded like it was for free, but when I asked for it at the reception they told us to park our car in their garage which costed some extra euros. So is there a free parking or not?

Arles is a really small old town (within ramparts), so staying at the centre of it is essential. Hotel Du Forum is at great location and is easy to find. Although the room is a little but old in decor, it is very quiet and peaceful. The staff are friendly & helpful. Good quality with the reasonable price.

The hotel is located at the very center of Arles. The Forum place is always animated, even late in the night. Our room was on the back side, and noise was never a concern. Instead, we had a view on a beautiful garden, with trees and a wll kept swimming pool. The property is clean. Our room had ample space; we got two twin beds for three persons. The breakfast was very good at 9,00 Euro. All prices are clearly stated even at the outside of the hotel. We had no real difficulty at locating the hotel and finding a convenient parking area in a street nearby; however, for staying more than a night the private parking of the hotel seems more convenient. Probably you could find a fair hotel for a bit less, but you would miss some of the convenience and niceties this one offers. Highly recommended.

I had an amazing time at the Hotel Du Forum! The staff, Anthony (the bartender)was wonderful and there was Micheal,Valerie and Dominque at the front desk who were so helpful with everything! Being alone, these people made me feel right at home and anything I needed they knew how to get it or how to get me there. My vacation would not have been the same if I did not go to the Hotel Du Forum. I can't imangine going anywhere else and having as much fun as I did there. The hotel, pool and especially the people made this trip a wonderful experience and I intend to return and visit my friends at the Forum. Thank you again Gina Baratta-San Francisco CA

TV didn't work and bathroom was really old. Moreover, we asked for a cradle and it was charged with no previous advice. On the whole, there are much better establishments in Arles, for the same price.

This hotel lived up to it's expectation - we had a great large room overlooking the Forum, it was very clean and the staff was friendly. However, it was so loud at night it was difficult to sleep. Some of the restaurants turned into bars and were open until 3 in the morning. Then came the cleaning with bottles banging and garbage being picked up. It's a good hotel, but be aware that it can be very noisy at night on the square. Also, make sure to reserve parking in advance. You have to pay for parking even though that wasn't specified to me until I got the bill.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Du Forum, and would recommend this hotel to anyone. The location was wonderful, well within easy walking distance to all of the attractions of Arles as well as being right in the middle of a lovely square equipped with restaurants, bars, and shops galore. The staff were incredibly helpful and spoke excellent English. You will probably want to have a car when you come so you can explore all of the wonderful areas surrounding Arles, be sure to call ahead to reserve parking as there is not much close by other than what the hotel provides. Be sure also to request a map of the town of Arles before you come, especially if arriving by car, as the very narrow streets are very hard to navigate through and the hotel is hard to find. This hotel is well worth it however, once you do find it, and will not let you down.

The best things about this hotel were the very friendly, helpful staff and the beautiful courtyard garden with pool. Our room was quite generous in size and comfortable, although like many French hotel rooms, it appeared to be furnished with varied unmatched pieces of furniture culled from someone's grandmother's attic. The hotel was centrally located--although Arles is small enough that this is not a huge concern. The main thing that could've been a big drawback was the fact that our room faced onto the square, where there was a good bit of activity and noise at night. However, we always travel with earplugs, so this was not a problem for us.

Staff on reception very helpful and welcoming. HUGE 3 bed room overlooking Place du Forum. Fantastic view of Van Gogh's cafe. Strange bathroom arrangement in corner of room that seemed a bit out of place with the rest of the room. Swimming pool in courtyard looked fantastic (bit chilly in October to try it out unfortunately). All in all fantastic hotel in a great location for an excellent price.

This is the most charming hotel I have ever stayed at. I could go on and on, or you could just believe that the rooms were huge by european standards, the location although hard to find initially, was in the center of the most adorable squares, walking distance to all in Arles, you look out your room window and you could be in the 1500's. So quaint and so peaceful. The breakfast would be my only minor note, it was not the best, but the front desk was great, helpful, and lovely. We loved this hotel!
