Probably the owners made the money to built the "hotel" through a lifelong respectable activity that has never to do with catering and so on. In Italy we say "strong shoulders stolen to agricolture". Only the receptionist, when present,has a sort of professionality; all the rest in terms of service and relationship to be burned out.
