Hotel Caesar Augustus Anacapri - Venere.com exterior - night On a cliff, 1000 feet above the sea, the resort hotel Caesar Augustus offers one of the most spectacular views on the island of Capri.

The hotel is located five minutes from the centre of Anacapri, where you can see the entire gulf of Naples.

The breathtaking scenery includes Mount Vesuvius, the Amalfi Coast, Ischia, and the island of Capri itself, which is celebrated in the works of the famous novelist Axel Munthe, whose Villa San Michele is nearby.

Hotel Caesar Augustus is a fine example of a cliff estate with aspects of ancient Roman architecture, yet fully furnished with 21st century amenities. This fine hotel has recently been renovated.

THe worst experience at a so called 5 star hotel. Paid $850 US dollars and got zero service, terrible uncomfortable rooms, staff is from another planet. We would NEVER stay there again, not even for the views. HUGE disappointment!

I must say that I would not give this hotel the 5 star rating that it has been given. The location is just fine and the views are some of the most amazing in the world. Those are the good things....Now for the bad, We booked the junior sweet and did not find this to be anything special. The room was a bit above average size but had water stains and mold above the patios doors. The bathroom had mold in the grout/caulk. The shower had some broken pieces and the jacuzzi tub had some pieces come off when we turned it on. The service was nothing spectacular. They did not have cash change for small bills, the only good greeting was on our inital arrival. After 3 days at the less than full hotel the staff still did not know what room we were in upon our return each day(you have to get your room key). This is discouraging due to the fact that the staff at a 3 star hotel did know us. I did not receive the care or attention that one would expect from a 5 star hotel. There are multiple options of places to stay on the Isle of Capri and I will be staying somwhere else when we return. I can only advise to give somewhere else a chance. I did leave comment cards and let the hotel know of the issues, so we will see if these issues are corrected. Over 3 weeks in Europe, and 6 hotels, I was least happy with the Ceasar Augustus hotel.

We had a wonderful stay. The property was amazing, with spectacular views and first-class service. The only complaints we have are that the rooms weren't sound-proof (we could hear a couple talking loudly in the room next door) and we had an unwanted house guest (a mouse that ran across the floor in our room!). The service was attentive, especially on check-in, although sometimes messages got lost in translation (we ordered orange juice with our breakfast 4 times and it never arrived…). We will definitely stay at the Caesar Augustus again (as soon as it’s mouse-proofed!!).
