Other nearby major attractions include Leidseplein, one of Amsterdam's main squares, the Casino, Vondelpark, and the famous Concertgebouw (concert house). The room was nice & the bathroom was good, especially considering the budget. The room stank of fags however and the smell was coming in through the airvents in the night from the room next door. The vents were directly above my bed & I woke up a few times choking

Acro Hotel is located close to many museums, in a very calm neighbourhood. Tramway is 2 minutes away from the hotel, allowing easy access to the center (although it is only 20-25 min away by foot). Service was ok, staff always helpful, breakfast buffet quite good, free & quite fast wi-fi access. Room is not big, but clean, and I guess you can't find much better for this price. The hotel is close to leidseplein, so 2-3 streets full of restaurants & bars are less than 10-15 minutes away by foot. Will definitely go back to this hotel.

Location was perfect, only a short walk to the Leidesplein, central canal belt, Vondelpark and most museums but in quiet, pleasant surroundings. The hotel room itself was small with basic decor, but clean and comfortable, a great base from which to explore the city. Security was good as there was a 24 hour reception and safety deposit boxes. Breakfast was included in the price, basic but lots of food available!

This was the first time that I stayed at Hotel Acro.
The room and especially the bathroom was very small. Sheets were ok. Towels could have been newer. But they were clean. Breakfast was satisfactory, but nothing fancy.
The location is perfect. Given the location and the price, I think it was a good choice. If you don't want to spend too much and be close to everything, Hotel Acro is a good choice. Of course you can find a better hotel if you are willing to pay more.

A very nice little hotel situated in the heart of A'dam, just in front of the Rijksmuseum. Excellent quality to be of this category (I had in my room TV and hairdryer). It is also possibile to rent a bike at the reception (Euro 8/day). I'll be back again and tell my friends.

This is not the first time I book a room in this hotel. Now, everytime I can, I take one in the Hotel Acro, I am always sure to be satisfy: lift, room perfect, tv with channels in various langages, very good breakfast and very well situated (to eat for exemple, with Leidseplein just next to it)

Good location near bus lines, very nice hotel. Very steep stairs to the front lobby. Hard to find the street. Turn at the Rembrandt museum to find the hotel. Located near Rembrandt and Van Gogh museums

**** Fair value hotel, very good location at walking distance from leiden square. Personnel nice and caring. Clean room maybe a little narrow, but it was a quadruple room. Upstairs floors access comfortable via lift. Overall recommended, high value for money.

For a city hotel this is good value for money, very clean, good breakfast, helpful staff and easily accessible to all the attractions. If we ever came back to Amsterdam we would certainly consider staying here again.

First of all, the hotel staff including every person we had the chance to meet during our 4 days were very friendly, competent and unusuallly helpful. A second advantage of the Acro is its location, a few meters from the museum plein, from the tram station and five minutes from a boat station on the gracht.
On the other hand, rooms and furniture were rather shabby and not very clean. The so-called double rooms had two single beds of 80 x 190 cm that could not be put together (making sex an athletic challenge we were not really delighted of). Breakfast was all right, although we had better ones in other hotels of the same price level.

Great location, right by the museums and very close to Vondel Park. Dorm-like set up in the rooms. Small, basic amenities and very uncomfortable mattress. Our TV didn't work and didn't have a remote. Walls in the hotel were paper thin and we heard every noise even the guy upstairs using the toilet! I had a very difficult time sleeping with the mattress and noise. Staff were friendly and helpful. I wouldn't recommend it or stay there again.

Nice location and hotel, however the double room is not so spacious so can't imagine what the single room must be like, also pervasive smell of cigarette smoke in the room which puts off a non-smoker like me.

Acro is a very nice hotel and its staffs are very courtesy and helpful. Hotel is in a quiet museums’ area and commute to central of downtown is very easy, only takes a minute to walk to the trams stop from hotel. The breakfast is great and it’s included, you can also make a tour reservation right in the hotel. The only thing I felt little unconformable is there is no smoking or non-smoking room, but they will make an effort trying to get the smell out of it (it’s hard). I’ll highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again next time when I visit Amsterdam for the price and the service.

Excellent price/quality relationship. Huge rooms, good location (2 blocks from Van G. museum, walking distance from the centre), it has lift (which is really important in Amsterdam). Breakfast is good. I would return in the future.

We wanted to visit the museums, for this purpose it was the ideal spot: less than threee minutes by foot, tram very close to all directions.
The lavatory was quite tiny and absolutely not sound-proof.
Do not trust the route description of the hotel: it leads you the wrong way.

Clean and friendly. Room was a little narrow but that was to be expected. If you want to stay in a slightly quieter area but still within walking distance of everything this is a good place to stay.

Key attractions and stimuli in the City are the sister museums called the RIJKS and VAN GOGH. The hotel is adjacent to both the museums and the arterial tram lines also. My experience of the accommodation in the spring of 2006 was that it was comfortable, clean and friendly.
