Turned out to be an inspired choice; you get good location, great service and very nice rooms for not too much money. And it's the small things that make the difference, like the refrigerator being just an empty refrigerator rather than stuffed with expensive stuff and unfit to use for your own things. It's quite a walk from the city centre (but close to the museums and tolerably close to Leidseplein for the nightlife and food), but the tram system is excellent. Overall a very pleasant experience, would stay again.

Nice quit hotel, away from crowds but all attractions in walking or tram distance. No noisy guests to keep you awake.Good value for money. We were convinced the beds were enchanted as they were very comfortable, very soft[we have a firm one at home]and very hard to get out off.As other guest have commented"home from home".Would definetly stay here again.Across the road is the concert hall were you can watch for free "spirit of gambo" at 12.30 lunchtime on wednesdays.

Excellent location for Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum and Concertgebouw. Nice quiet area, lots of restaurants and (very nice, expensive)shops nearby, very convenient for public transport. Short walk to Leidseplein nightlife, longer walk into city centre, but not impossible. Amsterdam feels very relaxed and safe compared with other cities. Hotel room very small and a bit shabby but clean, comfy beds, good bathroom and facilities - fine for 3 days. Helpful and pleasant staff. Recommended for a no-frills stay, but well sited.

very nice staff. Hotel a little bit outworn, but rooms are very clean. Rooms to the backyard are very quiet. Good location to visit Amsterdam, because many museums, trams and busses are nearby. Breafast could be improved.

All very good for us. Clean, efficient, pleasant hotel, reasonable breakfast to cater for English and Continental taste. Quiet street (with direct tram access to centre) near main musuems. Would stay there again.

The room was very nice with a great bed. The employees were unusually helpful and friendly--some of the best I've ever dealt with. The front desk receptionist patiently described several things for me when I arrived dazed and jet-lagged. The location can't be beat--a short and pretty walk to the museums and good restaurants around the corner. The room was very clean--the only criticism was that the carpet was stained in a number of places but this was trivial. I'm looking forward to staying at the hotel again.

We stayed at a twin room facing back yard. It was very quiet. We could hear birds singing in a morning. The room was clean although the heating pot was a bit dirty. The hotel staff kindly changed it to a clean one right away. Good breakfast. Good price. Close to museum plain and accessible to all area in Amsterdam.

We found this hotel an excellent choice for our purposes (van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, a rijsttafel, Concertgebouw). We did all this on foot easily. Quiet, safe residential area. Trams take about 20 minutes to RR station. Hotel was clean, room spacious, breakfast (included) generous and in a nice dining area, service desk friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel unless you seek nightlife.

It was very nice to stay in this hotel, near the Van Gogh & Rijks Museums. The weather in Amsterdam wasn't good but the hotel has an excelent heat system and the room was very comfortable. Thanhs
