Good location, very near areas where there are good number of clubs, restaurants and major tram stop. near Van Gogh museum and fashion district. Room was very comfortable for the price. bathroom needs refurbishing maybe in the next year, staff was okay. nobody will greet you to the door and help carry your bags to the room. breakfast was buffet but consisted mostly of bread, cheese and cold ham, only hot dish was boiled eggs.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Amsterdam for a short break. The location is superb - the busy Leidseplein and museums minutes away, yet in a quiet street so you don't get the noise at night. The reception staff were charming, friendly and efficient with a box of chocolates provided on check in. The reception staff recommended getting the bus in front of the American hotel back to Schiphol, which we did, for €1 per person (surely a mistake but heck, the driver quoted the price and took our money). The breakfast was good value and you could see a wide age range (from students to the elderly) all enjoying this great value for money hotel. I'd definitely stay here again.

The Leidse Square Hotel is very conveniently located, in a quiet area yet close to the city and points of interest, including the famous Amsterdam museums and the many food outlets. It was only about 3-4 minutes walk from the bus-stop. Breakfast, which comes with the room, presented a sufficient variety and you could eat as much as you wanted.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, making suggestions on the best ways of enjoying Amsterdam, rather than waiting for us to ask questions. In particular I must compliment Ms Martina of the Front Desk for her cheerful and thoughtful ways.
Our 2 days at this hotel made our stay in Amsterdam all that better!

If you don’t like surprises, stay away from this hotel. We had a reservation for two nights. First night wasn’t so bad, even if the stairs were far too steep and the room too small. We left the next morning and we returned one day after. We were very surprised when we were informed that our room was in the basement. As we didn’t have another choice, we accepted the room. First thing I remarked was a dirty towel on the floor. I tried to take a shower, but it was impossible, as the water couldn’t drain from the tub. Even if somebody came and fixed the problem, it wasn’t very pleasant, or at least not for the price we paid for the room (120 EUR). Besides this, we couldn’t sleep at all because of the noises above. And this is not the end of our problems. We were told that we could park our car in the parking near the hotel for less than 20 EUR/day and in reality we paid 48 EUR/day, more precisely for 21 hours. Thanks God, Amsterdam is a nice place!

This is a hotel situated right where you want to be regarding shops, restaurants and museums. It is very convenient to go between Schiphol and the hotel by the buss shuttle that takes you strait to the door. The personnel are very helpful in taking care of you and your needs. The rooms are quit standard nothing more or less the expected, but nice and clean. It is well worth a stay while doing Amsterdam

Rooms are basic but clean. Breakfast was great as lots of variety and eat\drink as much as you like. It is the breakfast that made this hotel worth the cost as the rooms are basic. Only complaint would be no tea\coffee making facilities available in room. Quiet location but close enough to sights & resturants etc. Easy to find.

Great location and excellent value. The room was on the small side but very well kept and maintained. The shower is too small but this is a minor inconvenience. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

At first, after a luke-warm, we were shown a very mediocre and dark room. When we politely asked whether we might have a better one, we got a spacious and confortable one, but alas on the street-side, and therefore somewhat noisy. Breakfast was in keeping with the Startian Dutch tradition of mediocrity in this field. All and all not bad for Amsterdam.

The hotel was located within walking distance of downtown Amsterdam, the museum square, and anything you needed. The customer service at the hotel was great, and there was a big continental breakfast that was included with the hotel stay (well worth it). The only thing that went wrong was that when we arrived, our room did not have air condition. It does not say online that only half of the rooms have AC. I let them know that I reserved the room because it said oline that the hotel is air conditioned. However, the next day, we were able to change rooms with air condition. Only superior rooms have AC!!!!
Overall...the location was awesome!!!

The front desk person told us they had a flat rate with a cab company of 35 Euros to the airport. When we caught a cab the next day, it was 62 Euros, perhaps because there was road construction, but we didn't calculate that in our funds or time to get to the airport.

Good quiet hotel, clean, friendly and helpful staff and good buffet breakfast.
The only fault I could report was the pathetic continental room lighting that reminded me of the light given off by a Child's nightlight(although this is something that I have experienced in many European hotels)
The hotel is located just a few minutes walk from Volendam Park, the Ricks and Van Gough museums & nightlife. The Waterbus and trams are also just a few minutes walk away which makes the ACH Leidse Square hotel a good base for touring the rest of the city.
The Leidseplein area has an fantastic choice of restaurants ranging from local fare to Argentine, Greek, Italian, Indonesian, to Nepalese.
In a word, would I recommend this hotel to anyone on a short stay in Amsterdam - definitely. Or perhaps I should say no and keep it the pleasure of staying there to myself, in case it became too popular.

Overall a fair price for the quality and amount of service. We were given one of the smaller rooms on the first floor, though i had requested a quiet room and it was quite crampped. The ammenities were not luxurious, but very functional.

Nice little hotel - good 3 star rating. Great location and staff were very friendly/helpful and spoke very good english.
Only downside, no air conditioning, and rooms did get quite hot and only one small window to open - we went in mid June. All in all fine.
