We loved our stay, the comments were right about the dining room, we booked 2 evening meals and they were wonderful. The food and service were excellent, there recommendations were outstanding. We were one month in Europe and this was the best, we would go back.

We stayed 2 nights in this charming country inn. Excellent as a base to see Chateau d'Amboise and Chenonceau. Same as some earlier guest reviews, we had dinner and were pleased with the quality of food. Through the window we saw 3 kitchen staff in white cloth; the service was unexpectedly elegant. The price was certainly a lot lower than in Paris restaurants. Highly recommended!
As this inn is along the river levee road, and our room faced the front, there was some traffic noise. We could have paid a little more to move to the back rooms, but thankfully, traffic died out in the night (it was early Dec).

I would highly recommend stopping in at this hotel. In the middle of the Loire Valley Wine region, it boasts only 2 stars, but in the country thats all thats needed. The location is lovely, the very pleasant mid sized rooms were a delight, but the real highlight was the restaurant. As a result of reading rave reviews, we reserved both our evening meals. What a treat! The price fix was extremely reasonable, the wine list excellent, the servers well informed and very fluent in English. Items on the menu even had historical meaning with regards to the region. Trained in Paris and London, the proprietors bring the 5 star service to this 2 star place. Even the Tour de France has stopped here. Reservations for the restaurant are necessary.

The management of the hotel is clearly of the highest quality.all staff were polite and well trained. There was good staff cover at all times.A problem in the room was dealt with immediately. When it could not be fixed immediately,an apology was made, an assurance of a fix the following day, and the fix was expedited. In the meantime, a temporary fix was provided. The quality and presentation of the
food was exceptionally good. The other guests were very pleasant, all either English,American or French.

This was our first night in the country after leaving Paris. The welcome at reception was fantastic. We decided to eat at the restaurant as we had driven enough for the day. We were blown away by the meal and the service and now understand why we had to book a table. I thoroughly recommend the hotel and restaurant. It was one of the best experiences of our trip!

The hotel is in a very beautiful area. The staff are wonderful and many, to our relief, spoke excellent English. The hotel rooms are clean, well-maintained. Their dining room offers excellent gourmet meals and they were very accomodating to our children (ages 9 and 11).

Outstanding hotel. Great location outside of Amboise. Easy access to town and roads leading to Loire sights. Need a car to make it work. Rooms are modern and large. The staff was great(especially Arnaud). Comped us a bottle of wine when our room was not ready. Restaurant was the best meal we had in three weeks while in Europe. Would recommend to everybody.

This was my first visit to Hotel Auberge de Launay but I sincerely hope it won't be my last. I was traveling alone and Mr. and Mrs. Thevard (I hope the spelling is correct) and their staff were very, very attentive. The accommodations and their assistance when I needed a rental car were perfect. More than that, the onsite restaurant was superb! I ate there every morning and three of the four nights I stayed. Delicious fare and a great wine list. The Auberge de Launay was a highlight of my two week vacation in France. Oh! and the gardens were lovely.

We were a family of four adults, and we booked a quad. We viewed the room and did not want to sleep on fold out beds, so at the last minute they changed our quad room to two rooms for almost the same price.
The gentleman behind the desk asked us if we wanted dinner. We could smell the wonderful lunch being served, so we said yes and took off for a tour of a nearby chateau. When we came for dinner we discovered it was a one choice meal on Sunday nights at a special price, that he didn't have time to explain before. However, when we heard the menu, we were very excited. The food was wonderful. We loved the meal it was one of the best we had in our three week tour of central Europe. I found this place to be more beautiful than the photos. The garden was a delight even in the rain, the ambiance wonderful. The room was very comfortable, but I wish there was a shower curtain for the hand held shower. The big surprise was the great value we got by choosing the dinner and breakfast with the rooms. I appreciate the staff saving us money and all the help the staff gave us.

El lugar es en encantador y las habitaciones son como unas casitas. Tenias el coche en la puerta. Pero hacia mucho frio y no tenian puesta la calefaccion. La casa no se calento hasta el dia siguiente, y nadie hablaba español.

The Auberge was great. It was a good price and very close to the freeway and Amboise. The best part was the restaurant which had some of the best food we ate during our visit to france. WOW... the desert was heavenly! The only complaint I had was that the room was a tad bit cold even with the heat all the way up.

Easy to find, not far away from Amboise. Rooms clean and service really good. Even though road and railway are not far away we were able to sleep well with the window open. Garden available and a very good restaurant.
We would return
