The Hotel Amalfi is run very professionally by a local family. All the staff is accommodating and helpful. The place is tucked away on a pretty, narrow street, near the town center yet quiet and restful. Our room was in the garden, with a balcony overlooking flowers and lemon trees. The hotel's own restaurant serves tasty food and good local wine, and shopping and touring are an easy walk away. We would definitely return to this hotel.

This is a very well-run hotel with welcoming and helpful staff. We had a clean, spacious room overlooking a central courtyard full of orange trees.
Good breakfasts on the top floor. The hotel has an underground carpark. A great situation in a quiet side lane very close to the bustling centre square.
Highly recommended. Excellent value for money.

The hotel located in very very good area of Amalfi. It is situated in the center but it is difficult to find it. The room is very clean and quiet. However in the breakfast only one drink is included in the room price which is supprise for us. Parking is very expensive you have to pay 16 EUR additonal charge for parking per night. Anyway you do not really have an other chance to leave your car elsewhere.

Hotel Amalfi was absolutely stunning! The staff were courteous and friendly, very helpful! It is centrally located and very easy to find. The rooms were spacious and quiet, except when the church bells were ringing, but all in all, the stay was lovely!

This hotel is newly renovated and therfore very nice to stay. Bathrooms are especially nice. In 5 minutes of walking from transport hub (the central square of the city nearby the sea) with buses and boats. Amalfi city is not for beach lovers - beach is small and rocky (go to Minori or Mayori - about 30 min by bus).

Paola and her staff made us very welcome.
The hotel is in a perfect situation not far from harbour or bus station and easy walking.
The substantial buffet breakfast set you up for the day.The roof terrace is a perfect spot to watch the moon rise over the mountains. With many varied restaurants close by it was for us a perfect stop for 4 nights.

Good location and the room is very clean. I think it's a little too pricey. I was given a doulbe room instead of a single so I was asked to pay cash for the room for their mistake and which i think it's weird. One can hear people at the reception and passers-by talking within the room... so not at all too quiet.

The Hotel Amalfi was very convenient and easy to find. The first room we were put in was in the garden but the beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Upon request, the hotel staff provided another room for us in the main hotel. The room was lovely as was our stay.

Nice location, cute Hotel. Tucked away in one of Amalfi's littler alleys only 200m form the main piazza this is a very neat hotel. Staff were very nice and helpfull, the room not to big (nothing is big in this town) but nicely and cleverly outfitted. Excellent quality for a small price

Before staying at Hotel Amalfi we had spent 5 weeks in Italia and had stayed in many hotels. The hotel Amalfi was by far the best for the price we paid. The room and bathroom were brand new when compared to other hotels we had stayed in, the staff friendly and helpful and the location was quiet considering it was only 20m to the main street. We spent 6 nights there and would be happy to return again.

Hotel Amalfi
Almost 30 years ago I travelled Italy for almost a year. Amalfi was love at first sight, and I settled down in Amalfi for more than a month. I've been talking about the beauty of the Amalfi Coast ever since, wishing to go back some day, and during April 2007 it was time again. Together with a friend of mine we planned a trip to the South of Italy, Rome, Caserta, Napoli, Sorrento and Amalfi, with Amalfi as the main stay. On Venere.com we found Hotel Amalfi, a choise which seemed to be most perfect.
The busride from Sorrento give you a stunning view at the Amalfi Coast. When the bus stop by the small harbour you have Amalfi right there in front of you. Situated by the seaside in a narrow canyon the buildings climbs the mountainside, and a few meters from the harbour, a few steps away from the mainstreet, you'll find Hotel Amalfi. A nice comfortable hotel, newly renovated, perfect and quiet situated and with the most helpful and friendly staff.
Our nice and spacious room on the 4th floor were easily reached by the lift, and opening the blinds we had the most wonderful surprise. Just outside the window were a lovely garden with flowers, orange- and lemontrees and a view up the mountainside and the narrow alleys of Amalfi right in the backyard. Furthermore, the breakfast restaurant and bar on the 5th floor had the most wonderful view to the campanile and the famous cathedral and the tileroofs of the old townhouses.
Meaningless to say we enjoyed our stay tremendously. Now, as then, Amalfi was the perfect starting point for our trips up along the beautiful coast, and the amazing busrides up the mountains to Scala and Ravello.
For sure, Hotel Amalfi will be our first choice next time we go to this wonderful part of Italy.

Stayed in Amalfi three days and enjoyed it. The service by the staff was outstanding ( desk and breakfast service). Would go back in a minute. Centrally located to port and restaurants. Should let people know that there is a charge for parking, which caught us by surprise.

We stayed in Amalfi for 6 days, the last was at Hotel Amalfi. The entire time we stayed in Amalfi it rained. However, the day we stayed at Hotel Amalfi, that hotel lost power during the storm and afterwards. The hotel did not have power yet every home, restaurant and hotel around us did.

Hotel Amalfi was a great place to stay. Despite being in the centre of the town, the nights were quiet in the room. Buying aircon is a must and is a bargain at 10 euros per night. Service was excellent at all times and you always got a friendly face when any probles arose. Recommended to anyone - but as with the rest of Amalfi, get used to walking up and down stairs!!

Location in town, cleanliness, services offered and general behaviour of the personal make this address a must, whenever you want to go through the wonderful Amalfi. For people coming by car, just be calm when you go through the center of the town.

Very close to the Amalfi center. Parking in a separate garage - you will not be able to go to your care at all times. Breakfast ok - bot you get only one cup of coffee - you have to pay for the second, separately.

The hotel is ok. But I did not like the following things:
1.Upon our arrival we were taken to our room which appeared to be a refurbished garden house in the garden of the hotel. So we did not form part of the hotel and they were only two rooms in this little house and I felt a bit apart from the rest of the hotel. I am not sure if that was due to the price we paid or because we look young they thought they could just dump us there. The room was also a bit damp and quite cold.
2.Nobody told us we could only pay with card if we left after 8.30am. I only found out when the night porter asked me when we would leave in the morning and he said I could pay him in cash or pay the day after but after 8.30am. The problem is we would have then lost our train, the money we oaid for the ticket and about 6hours of valuable holiday time as the next rain to Sicily from Salerno would have left 6 hours later. What would have happened if I could have not withdrawn money from the cash dispenser?
Overall , I am sure they are nicer, more welcoming and friendlier hotels for the same price in and around Amalfi, as I also found them in the all the other towns and resorts I went on this trip.

this family run hotel couldn't have been a better choice. The clean and homely atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, very central but at the same quiet location are things which i certainly recommend to anyone wanting to visit the Amalfi coast. Keep it up!

Hotel Amalfi is a great value. The hotel is lovely, expecially the tile floors and good sized bathroom. The breakfast room has beautiful views and the location is perfect. I have recommended this hotel to friends going to the Amalfi coast.

The hotel has an excellent location for walks around Amalfi and exploring the little lanes. It's close to the square and church. The room was lovely with a spacious bathroom and great bathtub! The room was very clean also. Unfortunately, because I visited in March, it was not quite the season to open the roof garden. It was the season to fix things up around the hotel in preparation for the busier upcoming season. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay there again if I return to Amalfi.

We stayed here in Nov '05. The cleanliness of the rooms was excellent, and we had no problem finding the hotel (you would have to be blind to miss the sign in the main street). The price for the garage was as quoted when I made my booking.
An excellent budget hotel I would highly recommend.

Amalfi is a beautiful place. The hotel is very well situated in a quiet lane but inside the building noisy because of bad isolation. Our room was very nice, spacous and super clean. Breakfast was OK and the restaurant offered a great view. But the stuff we found was not very friendly.

Hotel centrally placed in town of amalfi. Not friendly if you don't like steps, as you have several steps to climb with cases before getting there. Room we had didn't have air conditioning and no outside window. The only window looked onto a small balcony of the room next door. This also meant every noise could be heard. However the room was a good size and very clean. Layouit of rooms throughout hotel was confusing as we had family in other rooms and at first found ourselves quite lost.

Definitely convenient, affordable and friendly, there's enough to do in the small town of Amalfi for a day or so - the beach, windy staircases, a piazza and church, gelaterias & cafes, shopping (lemon and lemon products are one specialty here, etc.
After that, there's easy access by boat or bus to the Emerald caves, other coast towns, the island of Capri, and 'gorge-ous' Ravello up in the hills. You can even walk down the 1600 steps from Ravello to Amalfi.
There were many international guests, and my American friend and I ended up hanging out with a Danish woman and her Dutch boyfriend (in Italy, isn't that funny!).
But what made this place most special were the friendly staff - 3 sisters and others -- that were all kind, fun and helpful.
This is the kind of place to stay for a true Italian vacation!

Perfect hotel to spend a couple of relaxing days, right in the middle of the lovely village of Amalfi, yet very quiet.
Rooms were simple but clean and pleasant, we would go back there and recommend the place.
Also, being in a little town, it is at walking distance from restaurants, bars etc... (unlike some hotel elsewhere on the Amalfi coast which are quite far from everything).

A lovely little hotel in a perfect central position. Rooms were clean and spacious. Bathroom was particularly nice. Staff spoke good english and were helpful. Breakfast was served on a lovely roof terrace. The only down sides were that air conditioning was extra (10 euros per day), and we had a room overlooking a restaurant which was quite noisy. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay.

A lovely little hotel, right in the centre of Amalfi. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful, rooms and linen were cleaned daily, breakfast was fresh and tasty. A very enjoyable stay, thank you to everyone there!
The only downside is that the Duomo Cathedral) rings it's bells from 7am everyday!!!

The directions to the hotel were of no value; we had to ask directions from police and others several times. Despite email requests, I never was told the cost of parking (18 euros per night) or that the rooms did not have a view of the sea. The people were friendly, and while monotonous, the breakfasts fully adequate. The main problem was the street noise - it prevented sleep, and we were forced to add the air conditioning option, not becausse it was too hot (despite being in July), but to drown out the street noise that goes on throughout the night (garbage trucks at 5am, etc.). Not sure I'd stay there again, but overall not a bad place; very convenient for Amalfi coast towns.
