This is the perfect hotel for visiting the magnificent ruins of the Valley of Temples. The views are incredible and the spacious grounds are beautiful and well maintained. You can walk to the ruins, a real plus because parking is nearly impossible. Although the rooms are rather small, everything else is outstanding.

Wonderful garden and view in a beatiful and quiet area.Rooms are rather narrow, dark, old and would need some renovation. Very unfriendly service staff.

Hotel is located in an excellent setting and has most of all a wonderful garden. That´s an absolute highlight. Unfortunately the interiors of the Hotel don´t match the exteriors, the entrance area and our room were fusty, urgently needing a facelift. Service was slow, waiter´s faces demonstrating that heavy burdon to make you think twice whether you really need something.

Su ubicación es única. En medio del Valle de los Templos de Agrigento, ofrece una atmósfera mágica. Sus jardines son espléndidos y compensan la relativa estrechez de las habitaciones. El personal es correcto, profesional, uy atento y muy simpático. Estupendo para una corta estada.

The location is perfection, but the service was indifferent to the point of being ridiculous. This was not four star service, unlike many other charming places in Sicily.

Dinner on the terrace overlooking the temples was wonderful.Lunch at Il Pescatore down at the beach was also very good. The suroundings with views of the temples makes it worth staying at the hotel. Swimming pool is also inviting and pleasant.

Well, what a wonderful stay here and a great treat: as we sat at the hotel's restaurant for dinner, we overlooked the Valley of the Temples, glowing in the night! The hotel has a pool, which is a rarity in Sicily, so we cooled off there after a long day of visiting the Temples. The hotel is quaint, Italian-country style, and the closest hotel in proximity to the Temples (which is the only place to visit in Agrigento). Anna Marie was so helpful with directions to other places we were visiting.

You simply can't beat Villa Athena for the location - right in the middle of the Valley of the Temples, fabulous view. Our guide walked us from a path behind the hotel into the center of the temples. (The guide was Giovanna - ask for her, she was wonderful.) The hotel itself was lovely, but our room was uncomfortably small - we left a day early because it was so very tiny for two adults and a teenager. So small that there was no room to walk around or unpack. The AC was poor, which we are used to but the second night, there was a wedding until 2 AM right outside our window. I mean RIGHT OUTSIDE OUR WINDOW. Band and all. If you stay, ask for a good sized room and check for wedding bookings!

Nice location but the hotel needs urgent renovation. No elevator, poor air conditioning, miserable mattresses, small and old TV sets, these are just a few of the disadvantages.

This is a very disappointing 4 star Hotel. The address given in the reservation was wrong and we had difficulty in finding the place. The airconditioning brought terrible odours and we had to close it! The place is not worth the price!

We arrived after a little difficulty finding the place to be told by a sour face receptionist we did not have a reservation. We insisted and with no apology she found it. Apart from her and a low level but ample breakfast the place is stunning. Probably the most beautiful setting for an hotel I have ever seen overlooking the Greek ruin in the Valle dei Tempi, better run it would be fantastic but extremely good value as it is.
