excellent location for catching a bus to the Valley of the Temples and also for strolling around the older part of town and the great shopping street, Via Atenea; the staff was welcoming and pleasant; we didn't have a car, but noticed there was parking available for hotel guests; our only complaint is that the breakfast was totally made up of sweets and bread made of refined flour--there was no protein and no fruit--it would have been so easy for them to have offered yogurt and fruit--this is a serious enough problem for us that we will look for a different hotel or B & B next time we go to Agrigento--if a traveller had peanut butter or yogurt or cheese and fruit with them, this hotel would be fine

Hotel difficult to find, you must follow the small signs hanging on the sides of buildings. Location was good for us, near center of town, next to train station although we had a car, Valley of Temples a short drive from hotel. Overall accommodations were adequate and breakfast was alright-nothing special.

Superb hotel, great people and services and also communication was very good. Located in town center and easily walkable to everywhere we wanted. Short drive to Valley of Temples. Getting to Hotel was a little difficult but very doable. Wonderful time, thanke you Amici staff and Venere

The staff were very friendly and the rooms were spacious. Good for families as we had two rooms joined by a bathroom. The hotel was central.

The hotel is very nice and the employee are really helpfull. the hotel is located in downtown of Agrigento close to the railway station. The rooms are small but compaired to the price offered is fine. On the sourranding you can find lots of good restaurant.

Very near the train/bus station. However the person sleeping at the desk in the morning was pretty grumpy when we wanted to check out in time to catch an early bus. And after waiting a very long time (did he go eat and shave before helping us?) he insisted that he couldn't use the credit card authorization system, so we had to pay cash.

The Amici was clean, comfortable (though hardly deluxe), and quite spacious - we had a quadruple room (2 adults, 2 kids) and this was actually two rooms with bathroom in between. Key for us, at least, was that it is a 90 second walk from the Agrigento train station. This made it convenient for arriving at night, as well as for buses (or cabs) to the Valley of the Temples and for walking into the historical centre of the city. All in all a very good find, particularly if you are not familiar with the city. If you want a more romantic experience, though, some of the B&Bs up on the city's hills looked very nice.

It is not a 3 stars hotel. The breakfast is very poor. There were problems with hot water. The curtain of the bathroom was dirty and broken. The employees were very kind, and the ubication of the hotel is excellent.

Hotel vétuste, bruyant le matin car les chambres donnent directement sur le couloir. Chambres pour 3 en 2 pièces, c'est le seul bon point. Proche du centre

The hotel is located left of the main railway station, an europcar office with big sign is in the same house. From before the station it looks like a one-floor building, but in fact is not, the terrain is very scarped, the house has three more floors with windows to the rear. The situation is excellent: local bus station for temples area and beach 20 meters from hotel, railway station at 100 meters, main bus station at 300 meters. The rooms are quiet, at least if you have quiet neighbors, the breakfast includes croissants, pre-packed jam, marmelade and butter, cookies, self-service coffee and hot milk. Staff speaks English and is very helpful. Don't expect anything stylish. There is a good restaurant at 20 meters to the left of the hote.

The airco was very old and made a terrible noise during whole night. capacity insufficient. The breakfast was not good. Only bread, some fruitgelatine. No juices, no meat, no cheese, nothing. Poor service there. It was the first time and I don't know if I should go back. Staff was very friendly.

Un point positif l'emplacement de l'hôtel, ainsi que le parking. Chambre peu confortable, climatisation bruyante, petit déjeuner très modeste. Se déplacer avec des genouillères pour éviter de se blesser aux coin du lit !

The hotel was fine except the view (very limited and on an ugly location) we had from the room Walking in Agrigento brought us in very dirty areas, disappointing city, but the valley of the temples is great.

It was good hotel, but parking wasn't nice. In fact, it was really difficult. I think this hotel is good for travelers who come to agregento by train.

Built on hillside, lobby is on top floor. Therefore, no views from many (most?) rooms. Otherwise, quite satisfactory. Parking is convenient in area with little on street. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

This hotel is quite near the train station, but I hear trains are very slow and infrequent in this part of Sicily so we arrived by car and it did take a while to find the hotel. The one way streets are maddening. The hotel does have free parking which was wonderful. Breakfast was adequate. Room was clean and quiet but not spacious and the shower could use an upgrade. The price was very reasonable as well. The only downside was a totally disorganized person at the reception desk who took about a half hour to check us in after some embarrassing questions. As a gay couple travelling all over Italy 2007, reception desks ask "one bed or two" which is very reassuring when 2 guys check in together. This person made a big deal about it and put us in two single beds. Really the only glitch in the whole stay.

The hotel is next to the train station, yet the neighborhood was clean and safe. The nicest street in town (Via Atenea)with luxury shopping and plenty of restaurants begins about two blocks away. The hotel staffers (especially the woman who met us on the afternoon of our check in)were friendly, courteous, and helpful. Pick up the buses to the temples about 20 yards from the hotel front door. The shower stall was small, as was common in Sicily. The breakfast was adequate and there was plenty of self-serve coffee and milk.

The hotel has a small car park reached via a one-way street. In the dark we missed one of the small signs to the hotel and ended up outside the city for a while (hope you have better luck!). A detailed map on venere showing direction of access would be useful. Entrance lobby was a little faded but rooms were clean, spacious and quiet. Lady on reception was very friendly and spoke good english. Breakfast, like the hotel was perfectly adequate but not special.

Good location very close to the centre of Agrigento, and very quiet (particularly considering the location). However, our room was dark and murky and cold - rooms on the other side looked brighter - and had no shelf space (just a massive wardrobe with 3 coathangers) so we were living out of the suitcase. Breakfasts were standard fare of croissants and luke-warm coffee. Difficult hotel to find, but more the fault of Agrigento's one-way system than the Hotel's. The Valley of the Temples did not disappoint!!

The front desk staff (probably owner) was extremely cordial and helpful. Her English was very good. The area 1 block from the hotel is great. You can walk to the old city on the hill, it is across from the train station and near the center of the newer part of the city. The hotel itself is behind other buildings and looking onto others so it has no view and is hard to find. It is old, but quite well kept. The bathroom was new and all marble. We were traveling off season so there were few guests.

One of the most depressing hotel I've ever seen. At breakfast, the coffee machine was producing cold coffe, hot water for tea was cold, food terrible. Other guests told us that we had to ask to the receiption desk for having a (hot) coffee.... Only if you are forced to stay in Agrigente (equally depressing).

if all you need is a place to sleep- then it's perfect- if you are looking for something more in a hotel, I wouldn't recommend it. I'd stay again and recommend it to folks with kids- it came with a separate area for single bed- that was nice.

I will echo the comments of others here by saying that the hotel was extremely difficult to find...even with a map. There are numerous one-way streets in Agrigento and it's very easy to get turned around. A Good Samaritan finally led us to the Hotel. The Hotel is small, but clean and centrally located within Agrigento. You are in walking distance of numerous eating establishments. The English-Speaking staff was extremely helpful and I can't commend them highly enough. This is not a five-star hotel. But for the budget conscious, the hotel is located in a quite area and had clean rooms with good, hot showers. What more could you ask for?

We found the hotel convenient as we traveled by train. For our one night it was a perfectly satisfactory hotel, and our room had a good view of the shoreline (I am not sure all did). It was good value for money. I cannot answer three questions appropriately because I don't have the available background information (photographs and next two -- you need to have an option for "not applicable").

The hotel was not at the location as specified on the map and it was extremely difficult to find by car, particularly as it is in a one way street. There are a few signs to the hotel, but not nearly enough. However it was right next to the railway and bus stations and ideally located for restaurants (Trattoria da Giovanni at Piazzetta Vadala has excellent food though not the cheapest). Surprisingly, for the location, it was quiet. Breakfast was basic and most of it was prepacked. The valley of the temples is a short bus ride or car journey. Five minutes walk from the hotel and you can look out across the "valley" where the temples are lit up at night.
