Hostal Santo Domingo Madrid - Venere.com hostal - exterior Hostal Santo Domingo, located in Madrid's Maravillas district,, was first opened in 1962 and since then, it has provided accommodation for thousands of people.

Refurbishments were recently made, transforming the hostal into a comfortable and modern place to stay in Madrid.

Hostal Santo Domingo is conveniently situated in Callao Street, just a stone throw from Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and Plaza de España squares. This central location will allow you to visit Madrid's main tourist attractions such as the Prado and the Sofia museums, the Royal Palace, the Thyssen Gallery and botanical gardens on foot.

The hostal offers free Wi-Fi Internet access, a meeting room, central heating and air conditioning. Cromotherapy is also provided.

The staff was very helpful and all of them are really nice and friendly - you'll feel like you are at home at this place; additionally the staff is there 24h a day. No option for breakfast, but you really don't need it in madrid with that many cafes. We will surely visit this place again when we return to Madrid.

The only regret I have about this place is that I did not know just how great it would be and did not book it for long enough. I'm sure the rest of the rooms are good but I highly recommend room 201. The only drawback is that the rest of the building is in pretty bad shape, but I understand that it is in the process of being remodeled. In any case I cannot think of enough good things to say about my stay there.

HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL

By underground
The nearest underground station is Callao (L3, L5).

By airplane
From Madrid-Barajas airport underground station, take L8 to the city centre and get off at Mar de Cristal stop, from there take underground L4 to Goya stop, and change to L2. Get off at Callao stop. The ride will take you about 45 minutes. The hotel is within walking distance from the Callao stop.
A taxi from the airport would cost about €20,00 or €30,00, and will take you about 20 minutes.

By train
From Madrid's Atocha train station, take the L1 underground line and get off at the Sol stop. Take the L2 towards Cuatro Caminos and get off at the Callao stop.

By car
If you come by car and you have a GPS: 40°25'18, 17"N 3° 42' 18, 75"W.
