It would be difficult to beat the location of Hostal Avenida, but there is no shortage of hostals in the area around Gran Via. Hostal staff was friendly and the room was clean. My particular room was dark and quiet, which was OK by me after sampling the Madrid nightlife.

Fantastic hostal! It would have been good if there was a coffee machine, or access to coffee in the hostal. Though soundproof to traffic outside, the noise from cleaning was quite loud at times in the morning, however, this is so in many places. Overall, it was a lovely place and we would go there again.

HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL

By airplane
From Madrid Barajas International Airport, take L8 metro and get off at Mar de Cristal. Then, transfer to L4 and at Diego de León, transfer again to L5 and finally get off at Gran Vía. The hotel is within walking distance.
