Well situated, staff very friendly and helpful. Limited internet access - one computer for guests and often had to wait. However, it was free of charge

This was our first time in Madrid. We enjoyed the hotel's location and amenities. The hotel is located right of Gran Via wthin walking distance from Prado and Plaza del Sol. Next time we'll stay there as well

We are french people. It was our first stay in Madrid, A family with daughter. It was a little bit difficult to express ourself in spanish because french language is very few spoken. The Hotel was easy to access when you take the bus Hotel with aerocity. The metro is very convenient but you can visit the main touristic spots on foot within 40 minutes. The town is very busy and exciting, the people are talkative and joyfull. There are plenty restaurants and cafe the pedestrians can see beautiful mansions buildings and museums. We recommend this trip.

Lovely hotel in a good location. Breakfast a bit uninteresting but a lovely communal area with free access to internet. Good value, though there are so many options in Madrid that there are some even better!

a very clean and queit atmosphere, whenever I go to Madrid again I would certainly go back to the Hostal San Lorenzo the staff was very helpful and the cleanliness is outstanding, the size of my bedroom was a bit on the small side but overall it was an excellent stay

The only complaint for this hostel is that there was a construction site going across the street when i was there, it was very noisy. Plus there is a very cute bar underneath, but that also kept the noise level up all night. Otherwise i loved it.

We where in Madrid for the Marathon and picked the San Lorenzo because of its close location to the start and finish off the marathon. The hotel and the room was clean and comfortable, though it would have been nicer if the room had been a little bigger. The Lorenzo is a great location with friendly local tapas bars just around the corner and a number of very good restaurants.Only thing that did,nt come up to scratch was breakfast not worth the money!

The location is excellent: every monument or typical area are at walking distance. Paople in the hotel are friendly and available for suggestions and tips. Furthermore you can eat an excellent paella in a restaurant next to the hotel (Paella de la Reyna)

Tutto OK.

If you need a room for spending the night whilst visiting Madrid, this is a perfect hotel located in the center of everything in town. Everything is close from here. I will come back here next time i need Madrid...

As I was travelling solo I was delighted to get such a good deal, the room was small but perfect for my needs, the walls seemed paper thin resulting in one sleepless night. The hotel's location is terrific and the staff were helpful. However the cash only payment was irritating.

All staff very helpful, was a bit noisy at night but hey what do you expect in the centre of a big city, also noise depends on where in hotel your room is situated. Would definately stay in this place again if going to Madrid.

My comment is : nice hotel, excellent position because in the centre of Madrid. Nice room, very clean. As three stars hotel, I expected a minibar or at least something like a boiler for making a tea. The coffee of the bar is not quite good. Some of their employees are not competent at all. But as final: good stay. Thanks

Having read previous reviews i was a little concerned about the noise, but our room looked out over a side street and was quiet! The room was clean and comfortable. Perfect for a city break with my daughter. The staff were friendly and helpful, even booking our return taxi to the airport. But beware the 'distraction' thieves near the underground, a map held 'in your face' asking for directions, while your purse is snatched! Then.....several minutes later they return with the empty purse to ask for a reward at catching 'the big black man' that stole it! Otherwise fine!

The room is small and furnishings are simple, but for the price, you cannot complain. The room is clean which is the minimum I look for. It is also centrally located--few mins. from Gran Via Metro and walking distance to Plaza del Sol. Gran Via is also a nice & safe location in a shopping and theater area. My only complain is a little noise coming from the bars nearby which seem to seep into the room walls late at night. Overall, I would still recommend the place if you are looking for affordable accomodation in Madrid.

Hotel was pretty basic and would suit those on a budget. Our room was right above the street and it was very noisy, not condusive to a good nights sleep. If you are not on a budget, I would suggest you find somewhere else to stay.

There were jack hammers and construction immediately in front of the hotel - very noisy from early morning on. We did not find the staff behind the counter to be friendly or helpful. In fact, they were barely civil.

San Lorenzo is ideally located for daytime sightseeing and nights out, it is about five minutes walk from the metro and trains are frequent and cheap. The room was clean and well equipped, although we thought we would have the use of a kitchen and we didn't, and the staff are helpful. The surrounding area is noisy and busy, some reviewers have complained of noise at night, but what do you expect when you've chosen to stay in the centre of a vibrant, busy city?! It's not the countryside! A good place to stay while in Madrid, would stay there again.

Good hotel, but at least my room in the 2nd floor was noisy. Music from downstairs and noice from the corridor and from other rooms. Free internet excellent. Service of employees was good also. The situation is good and not so heavy traffic. The wiev from my room was depressing, but room was clean and the wardrobe was very big.

The single room was very small, even by European standards. The furnishings and fixtures were shabby and damaged and were sized and situated in such a way as to minimize the living space. The automated wake-up call process did not work, but the free high-speed internet access (on a community PC) was an unexpected bonus.

My main complaint is that the room was so very noisy due to street noise. We had requested a quiet room. Perhaps there are no quiet rooms at this location, in which case the management should have advised us of this and we would have found a different hotel. Also, the breakfast (additional charge) was not very good compared with other hotels. Other than that, the room was very clean and comfortable. But if you cannot sleep, what good is a comfortable bed? It seems that central Madrid is very noisy at night and that people who want to sleep need to choose their hotel very carefully.

OTTIMA LA POSIZIONE, A 100 METRI DALLA GRAN VIA. L'ALBERGO E' ABBASTANZA PULITO. LE CAMERE SONO MOLTO PICCOLE TRANNE QUELLE EXCELSIOR CHE SONO MOLTO ELEGANTI E SPAZIOSE (QUELLE CHE CI SONO NELLE FOTO PER CAPIRSI). I TAVOLI PER LA COLAZIONE SONO POCHISSIMI ED E' PRATICAMENTE IMPOSSIBILE FARLA A MENO CHE NON SI ASPETTI UN PO'. NON MOLTO CORDIALI ALLA RECEPTION E SPESSO INCOMPETENTI. OTTIMO HOTEL PER CHI NON HA TROPPE PRETESE E VUOLE SPENDERE IL MENO POSSIBILE ED ESSERE IN CENTRO A MADRID.
