I will definitely go back to this hotel next time I go to London. Rooms are VERY tiny (and, diepending on the neighbours, can also be noisy), but the relationship price/quality is excellent. Moreover, the location is ideal for anyone wanting to move around London from a strategical point (Baker Street at 5' walk). Staff was very friendly. We never got up early enough to try the breakfast so I cannot coment on that.

General remarks: I had a really nice and clean single room, and the staff was very friendly. Surroundings are fine (lots of cafés, shops around, very near Baker Street station, and only a few stops from St Pancras int).
Low marks though for the breakfast room (somehow very shabby) and breakfast service (waitress was more interested in her own breakfast). The hotel itself is in a rather calm street but due to the creaky planks it was impossible to sleep without ear-plugs.
Breakfast itself was poor, I prefered to have my breakfast at Star..... But apart from this: really recommendable, I'd come back

I booked this hotel through Venere as it provided the best price for my 2nts stay to visit family in London. I wanted a safe, clean, comfortable, quiet room to sleep. I know the Marylebone area well and it offers everything needed eg. bars, pubs, restaurants as well as high street essentials such as bank ATMs, newsagents, supermarket etc. Hotel is just a few minutes walk to Baker St tube and 15mins walk to Oxford Street. (Recommend the Marylebone Tup as a nice local pub for drinks).
You are asked to pay on arrival. There is a small lift. I stayed in Room 102 on the first floor. As I arrived on a bitterly cold evening I was hoping for a well heated room and it didn't disappoint - lovely and warm. I'd booked a single but I think I got a very MINI double bed (trust me, no good if you're taller than 5ft zero and not sure how two people would enjoy staying for more than a couple of days!) Yes, the room was small but that was half expected. The beautiful high ceilings and full length period sash windows looking out onto the street made the room feel much less claustrophobic. The hot, powerful shower, basin and toilet were all spotlessly clean and functioned well. Though, be warned it's TINY and I don't know how say, a heavily pregnant lady would fit between the toilet and the handbasin - she'd get wedged in for sure!
My bed was very comfortable, linens and towels clean and fresh. Soap stuff provided, tea, coffee, mini kettle, tv (terrestial only), hairdryer. A couple of shabby things: shower curtain needs replacing, tap head cover missing, holes in wall left from brackets dismantled should be finished off, pictures on walls are terrible and uninspiring. Overall, I did get what I paid for, so good value for money and I would stay there again. Safe, clean and comfortable. As for quiet, beware, the floors creak like crazy and if you're a light sleeper it'll drive you nuts and you can hear people around you. Sorry, I liked my bed too much to get up for breakfast so can't te

The Regency is a nice hotel, good value for money, near to the centre of London. The surroundings are pleasant, very good and quiet location. Room and bathroom are small, but clean and well equipped. The breakfast (incl. English breakfast) was very good.
We will be back again in July 2008.

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel. Stay was very comfortable and pleasant - only problem was a burst pipe on the 1st morning which led to a flood outside the breakfast room. I guess this was an isolated incident so can't hold that against them. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful, but the staff in the breakfast room were not particularly friendly - reminded me of dinner ladies at school! If they smiled occasionally, wore smart uniforms and made the guests feel welcome it would make a big difference. I also avoided cereals on the 2nd day as I noticed most of the packets were 6 months past sell-by date.

My only real complaint is the squeaky floors. When the person above me got up at 4 AM I could not get back to sleep because of his/her walking around. I know it is an old building but a few nails in the right place would really help!

Great location esp for single people. Of course, with inexpensive rates but great location, rooms are small with a bit uncomfortable beds and musty kind of odor. Good to take scented candles for better sleep. Good for short stay where you really just need a place to sleep. Pleasant personnel.

HÖtel situé dans un quartier calme, proche des stations de métro et bus. Le prix pratiqué est correct. Un seul souci si vous y allez en voiture ne vous garez surtout pas le dimanche en face l'hôtel (fourrière).

It took me some time to find suitable accommodation in London due to other events on at the time. I stayed for just over a week.
In the end I was really happy at The Regency Hotel. For what it was, effectively a budget hotel, it was great and suited my requirements perfectly. Sure the room was tiny and, because it was by the steet, wasn't insulated from the road noise, but it was clean , had an ensuite bathroom, the staff were friendly enough and it was excellently located, just round the corner from Madame Tussauds and Baker St tube and walking distance to Oxford Street. The cooked breakfasts were on the oily side but the manager raised the subject with me and so it seems they're looking to improve their offering. Great hotel I'd definitely stay there again.

To pay £55 for a single room is a joke. The sHeets were not clean and I was in the basement, next to the cleaning cupboard, and it was very noisy. Overrall, really bad value for money. Any insider tips? Find another hotel.

I was in room 501, in the basement. Paid 59 pounds/night through venere.com. Room was small but clean and well kept, with a double bed. Bath was also small but clean; towels were changed every day. Room was quiet, almost no noise from the (secondary) street. English breakfast was OK, with decent coffee, orange juice, toasted bread + marmalade, and eggs, bacon, beans, tomato.
The location of the hotel is very good, 10 minutes from Oxford Street on foot, 20 minutes from Piccadilly Circus. The surroundings are pleasant, with lot of restaurants, pubs, etc. No credit card surcharge (same price as paying cash). Overall a positive experience.

I spent one week-end with my girl friend in that hotel (double bed room, 3d floor), during end of september.
I noticed a very good welcoming and location in London (less than 5 minutes to go to Regent's Park, Madam Tussauds Museum and Baker Street Tube station) !
Everything is very clean.
one negative point: the bedroom we had was very small!
Nevertheless, we had a nice stay there. :)

I have stayed at Guest House Regency Hotel for 2 nights, in a single room. More or less it was about what I expected, considering the general condition of London hotels. The lobby was obviously old and not recently renovated. The carpet in every room was not clean and also old. The room had clean sheets ans towels, but the white(!) blanket was full of hair! The breakfast was served in a very small room, in the basement of the building but it was much more rich than I expected: eggs, ham, sauges, bacon, mushrooms and beans were in the price.
The staff was very friendly. Especially to women travelling alone, the hotel gives the sense of safety. The area is safe, even on nights. It is also convient because of the numberous buses and the very close underground station.
Generaly: a budget hotel, that does not insult the guests. The owner obviously does not want to cheat the clients! And that it what I respect most!

For what my wife and I wanted from our London stay, it was excellent. Close to the tube, but not too close, quiet and peaceful at night and close to the tourist bus routes.
The hotel was also close to the bus route to the main stations aswell. All in all a great weekend that was helped along with the hotel and it's staff.

The Regency was somewhat a random B&B pick. However, having now stayed there, I will be back again. Somewhat small twin room in basement with en-suite for two adults for 6 days in June. But very clean and ideal for a tourist who is looking for a good place to rest, sleep, and clean-up. Good value. Wireless Internet. Small TV. Quick walk to Baker street tube station and Regents Park. Close by restaurants. Quiet street. Friendly staff. - Father and adult son from Mid-south USA

This was our first time, me and my girlfriend. Really nice hotel, clean, located in an old georgian building. The pavement is wood and you might hear some cracky noise from people on the above floor walking. Almost in front of madame tousaud and metro/bus line. Very quiet surroundings. Really nice stay if you look for an affordable, clean and good position 3 stars.
