This hotel is a true gem. Amazing location just outside of town, overlooking the sea and vineyards. The receptionist was the most generous we've ever encountered. This place is a great find and a great deal considering the quality of our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Anamoessa, and I will definitely go back next time I'm in Santorini, and recommend it to my friends. Irini and her relatives were all friendly and helpful in any way they could be. It's 10 minutes walk from Oia, which is a beautiful place, all white buildings and blue doors, and views of the caldera. The town is packed at sunset, and at certain times of day it is overrun by huge groups from cruise ships, but the rest of the time it's quite peaceful. The villa has lovely views of the non-caldera side of Santorini, across fields and vineyards down to the sea, with another island visible in the distance. The swimming pool is a good size, with lots of sunbeds, and great for relaxing and cooling down. The rooms were a good size, with a little kitchen area. I would recommend Villa Anamoessa to everyone.

I loved this little villa! Irini was so welcoming and the hotel really felt like a nice family business. It was in a quiet area just a short walk from Oia. We were on our honeymoon, so they made a special effort to make it romantic for us and we were touched! I would definitely recommend it as a quiet, convenient sweet place to stay.

Extremely Friendly and sincere staff(owner) Hotel was peaceful with great view, spacious room, nice balcony, nice pool and lounge chairs. Breakfast can be delivered to your balcony or pool area. I would stay again and again. The hotel bed was not comfortable but none of the beds I have ever slept on in Europe are. When are they going to learn about "pillow top" and "memory foam". I hope soooooon.

This was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at (and I do a lot of travel), with respect to the hospitality, environment, etc. The owners were extremely welcoming, helpful, hospitable and friendly. If I ever go back to Santorini, there's no question of me staying anywhere else. Would recommend the place to all the people that I know (or even don't know)

It is a quite place and excellent to make a vacation in natural scene. The reception of the hotel is passion and informative. They are willing to provide the information more than you need. Our room is nice with a tiny kitchen. The facilities is clean as well. As a guest to live in there, you feel the manager care you in minor. The bed sheet is clean and tidy. For the disadvantages, the location is actally not close to the Oia town. You need to walk 10 mins along the road or walk in a quite pathway. If you want to live in traditional cave in santorini, it 's not your cup of tea. But I still recommand this villa for a quite vocation.

If you don't mind a less-than-stellar shower and hard mattress, this place is an absolute steal in Oia. A 15 minute walk into town but don't miss the nearby traditional settlement in Finikia (and the excellent restaurant Krinaki) and Sigalas winery down the road. The only negative was the bathroom with a teeny shower and water that was lukewarm at best. The handheld showerhead had zero water pressure, which was frustrating. But the owner is lovely and helpful, the pool was beautiful, the air conditioning worked and breakfast was served each morning on our terrace with a view of the ocean.

Villa Anemoessa is a lovely, family-run business. Irini, our main host, was as charming, friendly, and accommodating as we could have hoped. The hotel has a view of the Aegean- amazingly, for Santorini, this is the worse view, but the caldera is within easy walking distance. (not quite in the center of Ia, but a nice, leisurely walk or accessible by bus, and you'll do a lot of walking here anyway). We had such a great time in Santorini in general and such a relaxing stay at Villa Anemoessa that we're hoping to get jobs there next season!

Hotel Villa Anemoessa is a lovely, quiet hotel just on the outskirts of Ia (a pretty little town on the north of Santorini). Its about a 10 minute walk into Ia. There is one beach about a 30 minute walk from the hotel, but I ended up hiring a scooter and heading to the beaches on the south of the island. I really enjoyed my stay there, and my only gripe was that the description of the room indicated that there was english language satellite tv (there was a tv, but no english channels). However, this is a tiny whinge about a lovely hotel on a lovely island!

The family-run hotel had excellent staff, very welcoming and competent. The market next door was very convenient for buying breakfast and snack supplies for the room. The view from our room was spectacular. The rooms were very quiet and private. And the walk to the town of Oia took only a few minutes.

It's a very nice villa and we 're welcomed warmly by the kind manager there. The internet is free to access and the breakfast is very good! It's only about 7-8 mins' walk to the Oia. On the way you will meet a nice restaurant with cheaper price. Compare to the price that quoted by hotels in Oia, this villa is quite worthy and we would like to recommend it to my friends.

We enjoyed the sea view, the balcony, the wonderful infinity pool, and the freshness and spaciouness of the rooms. We were within a 5 minute walk to OIA which took us by a donkey pasture - how quaint.

Irene and her mother made our stay most enjoyable. They greeted us (along with their cute little dog Xena) with coffee and after checking in they gave us all of the recommended sites of Santorini. We were well taken care of during this time. When bad weather closed the ferries to the island for two days they assisted in any way they could to help get us off the back to Athens for our flight (not that being stuck on a Greek island is all that bad). When I return to Santorini as I am sure I will I will definitely return to this hotel.

It is located in a quite area, really near from Oia. Irini and her family are really nice, they take care of each person who's stay in the villa. It was a wonderful place to have holiday. The hotel is just a scarce ten-minute walk away from Oia, and two minutes from the bus station. The studio where we stayed had a complete kitchenette with everything one might need, a small balcony at the back (useful for wet bikinis...), a wide veranda at the front, bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast is served either at your veranda or by the pool (doesn't that sound like luxury?). The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing, so we found the quietness we were looking for. Irini is extremely helpful and welcoming and speaks good English, too. They also have a very convenient minimarket. The hotel has a number of small details which make your stay more pleasant, like high-quality towels, candels in your room, a shaker to make your own frappés or free internet access, not to mention the double sunbeds by the pool! We enjoyed our stay very much and plan to go back some time in the future.

This was our first time to Santorini. Ia is a beautiful little village at the end of the island and definitely worth staying there (for the quieter, slightly less touristy part of the island). The hotel is actually a short walk outside of Ia and a little bit off the main road. Our taxi driver had a bit of trouble finding it. The hotel can arrange a taxi to pick you up though and I would recommend that. It will cost between 25-30€ from the main port. The lady running the hotel is incredibly nice and very helpful and has very good english, so no problems there.

The place is so clean and relaxing. Although the pool is available to all staying at the villa, you mostly get the pool to yourself during the day. The town of Oia is literally a 10 minute walk where there are lots of restaurants and art galleries, as well as the beautiful caldera view. The apartment is not on the caldera side but that does not matter as you get a beautiful view of the Aegean Sea with the island of Anafi in your eyesight. Irini was very lovely as well as her grandmother; Irini will answer any questions you have about the island and give you tips on how to get around it. Some people may think that the best place to stay is in Fira (capital) but to be honest, being a 25 year old I would have agreed until I saw it myself, it is very noisy and has become somewhat tarnished by us tourists! So personally staying at Villa Anemoessa is the perfect spot, the bus stop is 3 min walk and takes you to Fira from which you can travel to any part of island and is very easy. You can also hire a car (the car rental is also 3 mins walk away) and it starts from as little as £30 a day, with that you can really explore all the nook and crannies of the island. One piece of advice: if you suffer from vertigo, then you will not find this island relaxing because firstly, Oia is at the top of a mountain so the journey up there can be scary for you sufferers and when you walk to places a lot of them are hilly so you have been warned! Another point is: WEAR TRAINERS WHEN GOING TO THE VOLCANO! And ladies: don’t even think about wearing heels, it will get you nowhere! Trust me I tried! All the roads and walkways are cobbles so flats are a definite must! The island could not have been more beautiful! The apartment was so clean and inviting. I stayed there for two weeks and I’m sure if I ever come back to Santorini again, I will definitely be staying here. To sum it up: great place, great views, great people and great price!

Fanatastic accommodation at a great price. The location is a 10 min walk to the village of Oia which means you have the best of both worlds- proximity to the beautiful town yet being away from the crowds. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic. We liked having the use of the kitchenette to make lunches and some dinners. The pool is apparently a new addition and its spotless. Highly recommended.

Ma Pa and daughter operation with adjoinging village market. Daughter speaks English and can always be found in the Market - no lobby. They are very friendly and daughter is helpful. They live behind the market and fix nice continental breakfasts which they serve at your rooms patio. Shower is uncomfortablly small and we had some minor problems with the A/C and plumbing which they fixed pretty quick. Nice pool with great view of the vinyards and Aegean (NOT the CALDERA). This place is in Finikia, a quiet village about 8 minite walk from OIA with the fabulous CALDERA views. If staying in Oia with the CALERA view is importand than this is not the place although it is less expensive. Mom and daughter greet you and send you off nicely. They bring you snacks and wine if they see you lounging by the pool. Market is handy for buying incidentals, wine, cheese etc. You don't really need a car if you stay here, plenty of returants within 3 minute walk and hundreds in OIA 10 minutes. You will be very happy here as long as you are not expecting the Caldera view which is breathtaking and why most visitors come to this island.

We had a 'studio apartment' that was very comfortable and nicely decorated, very clean and tidy. The bed was a large double, the pillows were good quality, the bathroom had a shower, no tub. There was a small refrigerator and cooking facilities. There was a terrace in front with a table and chairs where we could have breakfast served if we wanted. There was also a small enclosed terrace in back with a couple of lounge chairs and a line for hanging washing out to dry, a very warm and sunny space. The location is lovely, very rural in feeling, quiet and peaceful. It is on the Aegean side of the island, however, not the caldera side and the view is looking out over fields and new building sites. It was about a 10- to 15-minute walk into Oia, a five-minute walk to the bus stop to catch a bus into Thira. We were there a little early for the season, however, and many of the restaurants in Oia weren't open yet so the choices for an evening meal were very limited. It would be ideal for someone wanting peaceful isolation, or for someone with a rental car to get around. I think for myself I would have preferred to be in Thira.
