Very nice quiet little hotel with charming pool and white spacious rooms. Excellent restaurant with view on the sea and the Oia sunset (even if not the caldera). The price is for Santorini still among the lower ones, especially the restaurant is reasonable. The staff is charming and the hotel is ca. 10 minutes by foot from the village, you can take mostly the caldera path. Possibility to get a scooter or car delivered to the house. Greet the dogs from us...we loved our stay.

Finikia is ideal for those who want to enjoy a quiet location away from the crowds that arrive daily in Ia, but still be close to the shops and restaurants. It is an easy walk into Ia. The local bus from Fira will stop right outside the hotel if you tell the driver you are going to Finikia. Our room was so spacious and comfortable and the views were amazing. The pool was clean, fresh towels there throughout the day - and internet access in the foyer is free! There is an excellent little supermarket - about a 10 minute walk towards Ia. Like many places in Greece with a view, it's a bit of a hike up/down the stairs with suitcases but worth it.

Our stay was ok. We were disapointed only by few things: the location actually is in Finikia, is about 2km from Oia. We were with a rented car and because of that was really easy to come and go. But on foot, is a little far... We also had some problems with bugs in the first room, but it was quick solved by the manager and in the second room everything was fine. The manager is a very nice woman and she was really concerned if we were satisfied with the change of rooms. The breakfast was really nice, we liked a lot. The pool and the view are really good too. They also have a computer with internet in the reception avaliable for guests and they don't charge you and this is great. We only suggest that some rooms were provided with TVs.

This hotel might be a little hard for some people to find because there are very few road signs or street/building markings on the island. However, it sits right along the main north road to Oia. This hotel is a gem with bigger rooms than many hotels on the Greek Islands, an amazing view and an excellent staff

It was a perfect place for a quiet, different holiday in the sun. We enjoyed our stay, and both the people working at Finikia and the food was excellent. As we stayed for 14 days we got well known both to area and the people. There were towels in the sunbeds and books in the rooms. Books could also be found in the reception, in several different languages (now also in Norwegian!) I will recommend this hotel to everyone who is not looking for a partyplace near the beach. And I would really like to come back. Some advices to other travellers: Bring a pair or good hikingshoes and try the small paths both in to Oia and also to Fira. It was amazing views and also a nice walk. If you want to rent a car, do it before arrival. We didn't get any car as they were all busy. Bus was a convenient way to travel around, but avoid sunset time, as the buses are crowded!

Good relationship between price and quality. Breakfast was basic but good. Free access to internet for 30 minutes, but if is available you can use more. Friendly staff. Te room was humed because it was close to the pool, and also a liltle bit noisy. Without TV, but with enought space. The hotel orientation was opposite to the cliff.

The hotel is a longer walk from Ia than I anticipated, but the walk was pleasant. Breakfast isn't served until 830, so if you're an early riser, find breakfast somewhere else. The hotel staff at the reception area and the restaurant were not as friendly as other Greeks we met in our travels.

We received a very warm welcome on arrival and found staff to be helpful. We enjoyed dining on the roof terrace and the food was excellent. Breakfast was basic but good. The hotel is well situated to enable easy access to Oia (20 minutes walk),although the road access is not ideal but you can use the Caldera footpath for most of the way. The highlight is the easy access to the Caldera Footpath, which gives fantastic views of the Caldera and the Volcano. Sigalas Winery is worth a visit but the footpaths across the fields have not been maintained and in places are blocked by fallen stone walls. We watched the famous Santorini sunsets from the comfort of our terrace, although they did not meet our expectations! For us Finikia Place was a good value, well positioned hotel with an excellent restaurant, in one of the best areas on the island.

We were originally going to go to China but because we decided to move house we though somewhere nearer and less expensive (from UK) appropriate. Santorini appealed because of the spectacular scenary and historic significance of the island(Bronze Age volcanic explosion - destruction of the Minoan civilization). We chose Ia because it had the only hotel that was well rated by Venere on the Island. It was the right decision. Ia is spectacularly beautiful. It is purched 400+ feet above the sea on the northern tip of a banana shaped island that surrounds about half the caldera. It is renowned for its sunset views of the caldera and for good reason. It is an upmarket resort with interesting boutiques and good restuarants. All of the local businesses conspire to keep the village of Ia immaculate. The pedestrian only path that winds through the village is paved in marble slabs. Our hotel was located about 1.5 km outside of Ia. The hotel is formed of individual, single room buildings immitating (internally at least) the traditional cave dwellings on the island. Because the hotel is on the eastern (outside)slope of the island the view is over the Aegean sea to distant islands rather than into the caldera. Walk 250 yds up the hillside and you come to the lip of the caldera with cliffs dropping steeply down to the sea. You occasionally get a whiff of sulphur from the volcanic island buddling away in the middle of the caldera. Hotels on the edge of the caldera come at a premium - 50 to 100% more than the 83 euro/night that we paid. We found the Finikia to be a delight with friendly competent staff, no fuss and immaculately clean rooms. The semi subterrainian accommodation made for a very peaceful existance. The main town of Thira by contrast was a bustling and crowded nightmare. Tasteless, dirty and congested. We lepted on what seemed to be the first bus out and went to Akrotiri where we had an idyllic lunch at a table on a shallow pier jutting into

Finikia was a jewel of a hotel, just 10 min by leisurely walk from Oia. The property is beautiful with a typically greek decor and a great view of Oia and the sea. The public areas including the pool, deck, and breakfast terrace are welcoming and spatious. We really enjoyed dipping in the pool at sunset after a whole day of walking. The hotel restaurant is inexpensive and always full, with a lovely lamp-lit terrace atmosphere. One word of warning...the transfer from the port to the hotel is not included, but they can order a cab to pick you up, otherwise the buses are a good and cheap alternative. I highly recommend this hotel, as we much preferred staing in beautiful Oia rather than the more commercialized and busier Thira

Finikia played a very special role in my honeymoon. A very friedly and cozy hotel, despite of its simplicity, was able to overcome all our expectations. The hotel site is awsome. The hotel is great for relaxing and is quite near to Oia Village. Watching Santorini's unique sunset from the pool or from the restaurant, sharing a bottle of house wine with our beloved one was such an awsome experience. The distance from Thira (Fira) is shortened by the bus that stops right across the street from the hotel. The rooms are simple but extremely clean and comfortable, with oven, sink, fridge, etc. Besides it all, the property is a beatiful typical Santorini house, all in white and stones. Thank you, Finikia, for many unforgetable moments.

The room we were put in was nothing like the one shown on the web. It was much more basic and our air conditioner (once we were finally given a remote for it) flooded all over our room because they had it hooked up to a soda bottle outside instead of a tank. The pool and garden patio were nice and the food was great. This hotel is not really in Ia, but a 10 minute walk outside of town with nothing around it. Quiet, but inconvenient if you want to be near things like restaurants and stores and the bus station. We ended up moving to the Best Wesern in Akrotiri, which was half the price and a much nicer room and had a more helpful staff.
