A great central location, which is terrific once you are there. Getting there, or to a car parking station, is the challenge!
Pleasant desk staff - they allowed me to use the office computer when the only guest internet access wasn't working.
The room is fine, but the bathroom tired and in need of an update. The linoleum-floored toilet smelled unpleasantly of stale urine - tiling the floors would solve that problem, I think.
A frequent whinge - why do hotels have any steps at all? Most people have luggage on wheels, and it would be fairly simple to put in a small ramp on part of a short flight of stairs, instead of having guests lugging bags up and down. This hotel has 3 or 4 steps between the entrance and the desk.

I've been to Bordeaux many times.
The way to the hotel is not kindly indicated and according to the local situation is hard to find (no indication on the web map),as well Parking possibility is not indicated on the web site. The bathroom is very small and poor, window in the room (n°309)very high...

Like most other hotels on venere.com, a better map is needed for the hotel location. The hotel decor is dated. The pictures on the internet are a little misleading. Rooms are small.
Biggest problem was that we set-up for a wake-up call one morning. We received the call an hour prior to when we requested. We went downstairs to confirm what time it was and there was nobody there. We were able to confirm the time (by the lobby clock) and went back to sleep. When we came back down later, I explained what happened to the clerk and he did not care. I told him there might be a problem with their system and that he needed to check into it so that other customers would not have this problem.

Staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times. Hotel was very central for trams and in a good area for shopping. All in all an enjoyable stay and I would recommend it to any family or friends planning to visit Bordeaux.

Great location! As long as you don't have a car. Walk to lots of shopping, the river, cafes and sights. Staff was very helpful and spoke English pretty well. The room was modest but clean. Bed was short (like most French beds apparently) but very comfortable. The surrounding area was wonderful!

Spacious comfortable room but only had small window at floor level in one corner. Natural light was adequate due to skylight with clear skies but would be dark if cloudy. Hotel was in good location.

This hotel is in a great location in the centre of Bordeaux, just off the main street of shops. Location is excellent and the room was more than adequate, with a large bed and a plasma TV. We had breakfast on one morning and it was pretty good - lots of crispy bacon, scrambled eggs, hams, cheese, bread and croissants - make sure you eat your fill for 12Euros a go! I would prefer to stay at this hotel than many of the others near the station as the station is a bit too far from the centre of town.

The Hotel is ideally located to search Bordeaux city on foot, the shopping area is right on your doorstep with very reasonable restaurants just around the corner.
The must thing to do is take in a wine trip - bookable from the tourist office a short distance away.

This hotel was very noisy. The walls seemed to be paper thin and the street noise was very loud. You could hear every step of a woman in high heels coming down the street outside!
Location was great for shopping district, etc, but hard to get much sleep.

I was unimpressed with the quality and standard of this hotel. It is need of major refurbishment and redecorating. While some of the staff were friendly and helpful not all were and there was quite a dismissive attitude when there was a question that was not easily answered. I also was very surprised at the stale smell that pervaded the hall and would most certainly not recommend this hotel to my friends.

Visit was marred by incompetence of male receptionist who checked us in. I wasn't sure if breakfast was included in price so he checked and confirmed that it was. On checking out we discovered that it wasn't included!! We were told that that particular receptionist had caused the hotel a lot of problems (nothing about causing customers problems!!) by telling visitors crazy things!
We did have one day's charges deducted, eventually, but it soured our visit to Bordeaux. Apart from that incident, we enjoyed our stay: the hotel is centrally located, ideal for shopping, walking, dining, drinking etc. Not ideal for car parking as much of the area is pedestrianised. Would go back to Bordeaux, but not to this hotel.

A good hotel in a great location. 18th Century charm is limited to the outside of the building while inside is a modern comfortable hotel. Breakfast is poor value and best avoided.
No problem getting a taxi to the hotel door

Enjoyed our stay very much. Only possible improvement is that perhaps we could have been made aware that access to the hotel via car is virtually impossible. A suggestion to park at the Bourse parking and to walk to the location would have been very beneficial.
Thank you

Great location - right on main street. We paid 125 EUR in July for a room which opened overlooked the main street. The room was a very good size and the hotel as described (nothing flash but clean and well maintained). I would stay here again.

Our taxi driver at the airport refused to take us directly to the hotel because of long term roadworks and left us to walk 500m with heavy baggage. The hotel reception can order taxis that will come right to the door, so it is worth calling them for advice.

Hotel is in a GREAT location. Central to everything. English speaking staff answered all of our questions. The hotel is nothing fancy, our room had only a tiny window, but the value and cleanliness made up for the lack of ambience. I would book it again. Quiet, in spite of being on the busiest walk street.
