The hotel is 15 minutes walk to the main town centre, but this is an obvious trade off with the price, and not a huge issue as long as you can walk ! The rooms are functional and clean, bathroom shower was great, something which some better hotels seem to have problems with ! Free internet access is a major plus also. I have used this chain of hotels before (Citotel) and will continue to use them as they are consistently decent.

Bad surprise! The price for breakfeast was not included, nobody informed that it should be paid extra - neither venere nor the employees of the hotel. 7 € per day and per person is quite high for that kind of breakfast! Apart from that it was a good hotel, clean and central.

I am globally satisfied. Nontheless, it would have been judicious, if the writing-table was otherwise placed; as it is, customers have little room to sit for reading or writing.

There's nothing special about Hotel Le Chantry but there's nothing bad about it either. It's a nondescript hotel in an ugly area of Bordeaux that it walking distance to the centre of town. In other words - it is an ideal cheap overnight stay for somebody more interested in exploring Bordeaux than having a fantastic hotel experience. Rooms are typically European in size (ie small) but nothing that will surprise people used to travelling in Europe. Hotel staff were a bit grumpy at first but helped us with all our requests and we even got them to smile in the end! Ideal budget stay for the non-fussy traveller.

Hotel was 10min walk to centre.Nice surroundings.Basic but clean building.Found it hard to find.Due to poor reception from my GPS unit near surrounding large buildings. Secure parking for our motorcycles was important for our overnight stay in Bordeaux.

About a 10 minute walk from the very centre of Bordeaux. Easy to find if you follow the "Meriadek" road signs. Car park very useful. Large choice of food for breakfast. Good price/ quality relationship.

Hotel muy bien situado, próximo a la zona comercial. Muy limpio. Las habitaciones están bien para la categoría del hotel pero los empleados no son muy amables

Hotel was serviceable and just a 10 minute stroll to town centre. Bathroom was the main disappointment, shower consisting of a hand held tap attachment that could not hang on the wall, and with no shower curtain, each time it was used it did it's best to soak the whole room. Beds were okay, TV was fine with a station showing all day porn - bizarre!

Room basic and clean. Lacks charm and character. Corridors smelt of cigarette smoke.

This was the first time in Bordeaux. We stayed for a day, then did some traveling, then came to Le Chantry for our last night before flying back home. Loved it! The hotel was fine. I initially thought I was quite far away from where my sister was staying, but it is a very good walking town, and nothing is too far. Thank goodness, because obviously, there is a major parking problem in Bordeaux!

If you are driving to the hotel, it is very difficult to find. The roads in Bordeaux are quite a maze, and no useful directions were provided.

The trip was a three day get-away for 4 housewifes and we just loved Bordeaux! The hotel was great value for money and met our expectations in regards to location - just a ten minute walk to the city centre! The rooms were somewhat smaller then indicated on the photos and the TV was small. Breakfast was good and the area round the hotel was safe and clean. Could we make one change... we would hang up shower-curtains! Oh...and for families travelling with children, there seemed to be non-stop porn on one of the TV channels (so not neccessary!).

Apparently, if I had made the booking on expedia.com, I would have paid considerably less than I did. I'm not likely to use venere.fr again. But I'd go back to Le Chantry, as long as they didn't put me next to the elevator again.

The hotel was of average quality. However, the spaciousness of the room, low price and fairly good location make it a winner. There was an empty refrigerator in the room, which was convenient.

Nobody tell me that the breakfast was no include in the price. And at the final the was billing me more that the breakfast that we took. And I was very angry because they does not have control in the breakfast, and it was litle expensive for what they gave us. And for me the breakfast was include, and nobody alert us that we have to paid. And all the hotel that we went include the breakfast.

Unfortunately one of the rooms was very smelly, possibly due to heavy rain and drainage problems. The receptionist was not particularly helpful.

Thie hotel was fine for the price we paid. There is no air con so on hot days that could be a problem but the area was quiet so the windows could be left open. The staff gave us a map of bordeaux. Not sure whether they can speak english as I am fluent in french. Pretty clean and had everything you'd expect in a 2*. Was nicer then the hotel we stayed in the previous night for double the price!

A good clean hotel with efficient staff. We only used it for an overnight stay, but formed a good impression. Staff were very helpful and attended to our needs. No air conditioning in our double, but the spacious family room did have it. Would use this hotel again. Secure parking is also worthy of note.
