The Sa Franquesa Vella is located on the top of a small hill on Majorca Island, surrounded by fertile lands and cereal cultivations, between the wonderful towns of Vilafranca de Bonany, Manacor and Felanitx, and within a wonderful landscape of natural vegetation.

This was a fantastic Agriturismo situated amidst beautiful farming country set inland from the east coast of Mallorca. It is a collection of old farm buildings converted into apartments and modernised. The website says they have a restaurant and bar but that in effect is slightly misleading I think, in that they do have a dining area which can be used for breakfast if required but it was not being used as a restaurant when we were there in the first week of September. Maybe it is used as such at other times, but I don't see it somehow. I never saw any evidence of a bar unless the quiet reception area doubles for a bar on certain occasions. They also claim to have a turkish bath and indoor jacussi, I think, but we not aware of where they were situated on the complex. I am sure they wiil be there somewhere and if people wanted to use them along with the gym (which we saw) I am sure they would be pointed in the right direction. They also claim to have a laundry service - but again I am not sure where that was situated. However, please do not let any of this put you off. This is basically a self catering establishment (you can buy your provisions in vilafranca de bonany) where most of the facilities you will require for such a holiday are provided for you in the apartment. The apartments are clean and spacious with either private patio area or balcony where you can sit out and dine/enjoy the wonderful scenery listening to the sounds of the country round about. In short it is peace perfect peace - and if you want to get away from it all this is the place to come. You will love it I am sure. We had a vegetable plot at the back of the apartment from which we coould take our pick for the table, so we did. They grow aubergines (eggplant), tomatoes,red and green peppers, and melons also. There are fig trees,pomegranate and olive trees round about too. It is absolutely beautiful. There is a delightful swimming pool on the complex which we found we had to ourselves most of the
