The Poggiacolle farm home is located two kilometres away from San Gimignano, in the heart of Tuscany. It extends over two hills cultivated with vineyards and olive trees, which overlook the ancient medieval centre, providing a truly magnificent panoram¡c view of the area.
The guest accommodation is a recently renovated country house dating back to the 18th century. The property covers a surface of approximately 40 hectares; the vineyards stretch for about 7 hectares and the olive groves cover about 6 hectares. The farm produces its own Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Colli Senesi Chianti and Vin Santo, as well as extra-virg¡n olive oil. An outdoor swimming pool, archery facilities and trekking paths are available on the premises.
The property is open all year round.

Poggiacolle was ideal for our two week vacation in Tuscany. Besides being only 2 km from San Gimiagno, it is 30-90 minutes from Florence, Siena, Pisa, Cecina (Mediterranean Sea) and a host of other wonderful hill towns and beautiful countryside. Stefano, our host, was an excellent resource for places to go and things to do. With his good English, he helped us with the ins and outs of local culture and customs as well as making reservations for us. Our accommodations were quite comfortable, and the grounds of Poggiacolle are lovely. It was so nice to “come home” after a day of touring. My wife and I spent several relaxing interludes on the spacious grounds, enjoying a bottle of wine, with some bread, cheese, and olives.

We stayed at Poggiacolle for one week. Poggiacolle was the perfect location for a stay in the Tuscany area since it is an easy drive each day to Siena, Florence, Pisa and other smaller surrounding cities. We had a double room on the top floor of the largest building and it was spacious, comfortable, and appealing to the eye with the exposed old timber roof supporting the tiles and old style furniture. The bathroom had modern fixtures, the shower was just right, the warm water took a little while to get there but was plenty warm when it did; the towels were thin but adequate for drying off. Breakfast was in a large room with a high ceiling the same construction as in the bedroom. The breakfast each morning consisted of the Italian ham, salami, cheese, tea or coffee, bread and jams, and yogurt. Since we were there for a week I would have preferred a bit more variety like eggs, toast, ham or bacon, and maybe some hot ceral but we did ok with what was offered. The cook didn't speak English but she was friendly and polite so we didn't have any problems. Stephano was an excellent host. He spoke very good English, provided answers to all questions ask of him, provided good advice for travels and directions in the area, and he didn't ask for payment until the end of our stay. He also provided me with a tasting of two of the wines made there at Poggiacolle and gave us the rest of these two bottles to enjoy during our stay there. I read some of the other reviews with some criticism about the directions but we were able to get there without any trouble. The location is located at the end of a 300 or 400 meter gravel road but coming from a farm this was not a problem for me. If you like a rustic, outdoor setting for a place to stay away from the busy city areas then I would recommend this place for you. It was an easy drive to town since we had a car. I saw others walking or riding bicycles. I didn't see it but there is some sort of bus service approximately 1km

What can I say, other than it was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Full credit must go the manager of this property, Stefano. He has created a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere that made it feel like home. It is also a fact that the best pizza, not just in Italy, but in the world can be found in the town of San Gimignano. Not only do I highly recommend Poggiacolle, but if you are planning a visit to Tuscany and it isn’t on your list then you need to rethink your trip.

Poggiacolle was more difficult to find than we anticipated, but the setting, once found, was magical -- perched on a hill approx 2 km from San Gimignano (with a magnificent view). Good breakfasts, great pool and surounding lawn. So much to do in the environs of San G; we could have gladly stayed an additional week. Neat to be at a working vineyard, as well.

My husband and I and his parents stayed at the Agriturismo Poggiacolle earlier in June this year and we all fell in love with the place! It was so idyllic that I didn't want to leave! I could easily live there! The farmhouse is only 2km from San Gimignano. We had a car with us but it would be walkable or cyclable to town (we saw some people walking there). On arrival we were welcomed by Stefano. He's the perfect host and made us feel instantly welcome. We arrived quite early in the day and we were able to leave our luggage in one of our rooms while the other was cleaned. We were in rooms 2 and 4 with a shared kitchen. The rooms were great with comfortable beds and plenty of storage space for our luggage. One of our rooms had a stunning view of San Gimignano! A view from a postcard! The kitchen was huge with seating for about 14 people! It was well stocked with any type of dish or utensil you could ever need! The pool was cold but great with lots of seating around it. Breakfast was lovely and held in a great room covered in maps and photographs! Parking is free and there's plenty spaces! The only minor con for us were the bathrooms. They weren't very well designed and were dark and damp smelling. The bathrooms were clean but not very welcoming and our towels weren't changed while we were there so were very damp! But the bathrooms do not come close to spoiling our stay at this wonderful farmhouse in San Gimignano! We all loved it and would go back for sure, without a doubt! I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Such a treat. Gorgeous surroundings, charming country house and wonderful service. Breakfast was phenomenal- wish we could have stayed longer. Only complaint was a tiny bathroom.

The only suggestion I have is that laundry facilities be made. We were recommended a self service laundormat however this was slightly out of our way. Overall we had a wonderful time at Poggiacolle and we will be sure to recommend it to our friends

A wonderful place. staff were very friendly. the pool was superb. We had a small double room. It was perfectly good but it would have been better to have access to refrigerator and simple coffee equipment etc. We heard later that this is usually available.
