The distance of the farm house from Agrigento town was about an hours drive. We made the mistake of thinking that it was closer. The actual town it is located near is an unsightly and unpleasant working town that no tourist would ever visit under normal circumstances. When you do actually manage to find this farmhouse after much stress and confusion you are greeted by a reluctant and seemingly tired host who cannot be bothered to explain anything to you. The cold "welcome" was matched by the lonely desolate feel to this place. The only saving grace was the quality of the cooking but there was not much atmosphere as we were the only two lonely guests in the big resturant. On checking out (our happiest moment) the icy host forgot to give us back our passports. We thought of them an hour later and made a sorry return only to be told that he had left them on the table- absolutely not true! Sicily exceeded our expectations in every other aspect but we were sorry we concluded our very positive trip in this place.
