The farm was gorgeous and the location was beautiful. You need a car to enjoy the region, and there is spacious parking, which in Italy is rare. The pool is immaculate with incredible views of the Chianti region and our apartment, which was one of the smaller ones, was very spacious for two, three or even a mom, dad and two small children. There was a well equipt kitchen, dining area, nice bathroom and dressing area. The owners seemed a little too busy to be of much help. We stayed for 6 nights but were never offered a tasting of their wines, oils, honey or jams, even after we asked to buy. They never had a dinner for their guests while we were there. The washing facilities for clothes is really a matter of paying 5 Euro a load to have your things washed and line dried. Bring an iron and plan to use your bed for a board! Castello Verrazzano, which is very close, has a great wine tasting! Make reservations at the bottom of the hill in their store on the way to Greve. There is a wonderful little resturant right down the road on your way to Strada with very nice wines and excellent food. The cafe in Strada isn't far and a wonderful, friendly, non touristy place to have a light breakfast on the terrace with beautiful views. After a day or two you are welcomed like regulars by the local staff, (even when you don't speak the same language). We used our base to travel all around the little towns from Florence to Sienna to Volterra and San Gimignano and if we had not enjoyed just being lazy and sipping wine by the pool we could have traveled even further. It is a very convenient and beautiful location. With the funds to support us, we would have been delighted to move there permanently. Near a major art city and convenient to many quaint towns, you can immerse yourself in the friendly and stunning chianti region from this central hub. It was very much like having your own apartment home in an expensive complex with wonderful views and landscapes.

La Presura was a great agriturismo and a great value. We had intended on staying at a place with a few more amenities (breakfast and meals on site), but we were very happy with everything available and used the kitchen that we had not intended on using. On our departure, we asked if we could taste the wine, and the owner told us that usually they don't do tastings in the winter, but he still opened a bottle for us. We definitely appreciated his willingness to do so. It was a nice Chianti Classico, and we walked out with a case. This was our first trip to Tuscany and we really liked the proximity to Florence and all the Chianti wineries. We will most likely be returning, and will definitely look to stay at La Presura again.

Overall a great place to stay, convenient to Florence, Siena, Pisa & Tuscan wineries. Bus to Florence stops 500m down the road, best way to get to town. Recommend you have a car though for general getting around. Warning: our room (1 bedroom, sleeps 3) was not air-conditioned, despite what it says on the web site. Lots of windows though, good cool breezes in the evening, however noise from the main road and mosquitos can be a problem (we were there in mi-June). I imagine it might be worse in July/August. However overall we enjoyed our stay immensely. The hosts were not available when we arrived on a Saturday, however they were available the next day and were very gracious and accomodating. The house wines are fabulous, the table red in particular is a great bargain. The pool was a big hit with our 11 year old son, very refreshing after a day of sightseeing. Several beautiful walking trails around the property, access to a private pond if you ask for the key. No restaurant on site (hosts prepare a meal on Wednesday for the guests, which we missed), but several nice restaurants within a couple of miles. Small kitchen adequately provisioned, comfortable beds. Great value for the price, we recommend it and would return if we are back in Tuscany.

The apartment that we got was spacious, clean and had a great view. Everyone was helpful. This place was not only in a beautiful location, it was very convenient for us who did not have a car. There is a bus stop nearby which gave us easy access to Florence and some of the towns nearby. Overall we had a great experience.

There were times when we needed assistance and there was no one in office and only person on call spoke no English. Great location for seeing Chianti area. Time of year visited surely had something to do with service availability.

We enjoyed our stay at La Presura. It was a great experience to see a working vineyard/olive farm in the beautiful Chianti Hills. The old stone farm buildings were very charming. We stayed in the Malvagio unit, which is located close to the SS222 roadway, which is fairly busy. However, we were able to sleep okay since the traffic noise dies down at night. Access is best by car but might be possible using public transport (stop for bus to Florence a short walk down the road)

We arrived earlier than we anticipated. Federico was very gracious and allowed us to check in early. We had a cottage with a large bathroom, plenty of storage for our luggage, satellite tv, a full kitchen with dishes and pans, and a terrific view. There is a small shaded garden next to the pool with tables and chairs which is very nice. The pool is heated by the sun. The water was not warm enough to swim but there was plenty of chairs to sit around the pool and read or watch the sunrise and set. We didn't get to enjoy the meal prepared for guests once a week since the chef was on holiday. We missed a wine tasting because we didn't know to check the notes on the office door. There were plenty of breakfast items provided at the beginning of our stay. The office has lots of maps and brochures about the area for guests.

there was construction being done on the property during our stay. The breakfast was very minimal. Room facilities allowed meal preparations and food storage. I expected the property to be better than is was.

We stayed @ the La Presura for 4 nights during our honeymoon, and would recommend this farmhouse to anyone interested in being 30 minutes outside of Florence, while being right in the Chianti region. It was a great base camp to get anywhere in the Chianti region (everywhere is within an hour of La Presura; San Gimignano, Siena and everywhere in between), and the staff was very helpful. This was the least expensive place we stayed during our trip and by far the most enjoyable. When we go back, we will definately stay there again. Thanks for the wonderful experience in Italy!

Our vehicle got stuck in a gas station outside of Greve in Chianti around 10:30 pm. the owner came and picked us up and brought us back to our hotel safe and sound, he wouldn't accept a tip from us. This was way over what we expected from a hotel. They treated us like family.

The location of La Presura is one of the best! The view from the pool area and the surrounding countryside are breath-taking. For those visiting in the heat of the summer, no air conditioning (as is clearly missing from their ammenities) can mean mosquitos munching during the night and the noise of dogs barking, but in spite of this, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We loved staying here. Federico was really friendly and knowledgable. Try the home cooked dinners if you get a chance - they are superb. Wine is also great! Only issue for us was lack of air conditioning during a June heat wave. Pool was great though.

Splendid place--quality/caring management. You could feel the passion for life here. The location was also a great launch pad to other wonderful cities and towns such as Florence, Pisa etc..

La Presura was a perfect location in a beautiful setting for a week's trip to Tuscany. We were able to easilly get the bus into Florence for the big city sites and return home to our quiet apartment for beautiful scenery, great meals at the local restaurants and delicious wine. Federico and Erica were wonderful hosts and helped us plan train trips and rescued us when we took the wrong bus home. A wonderful spot for an Italian vacation.

very easy to find right on the s222 about 5 minutes north of Greve. Very friendly owners. Reception room large with lots of maps and other handouts available. Also internet available right there. They immediately provided a new hair dryer for me when there was none in our room. Wish we were there in June when they will begin their dinners for guests outside in their yard overlooking the olive grove. Unfortunately, a dog barked most of the night which kept waking me up.

The location was great--extremely close to Florence. The owner gave us a glass of wine on arrival, made there, and quite good. He also provided us with information on the area. My only minor complaint was that I was confirmed for a different room than we received. I was expecting a room with a garden, but received an upstairs room instead. Still, overall everything was very good.

My husband and I had been travelling for a few days from Slovakia to Italy with our two young boys. We took the town bus out to La Presura but got out at the wrong stop in the dark. When we called Frederico, he quickly hopped into his car and picked us up and then proceeded to take me to a little store nearby to get some provisions. This farm is an oasis in a chaotic world-my boys loved the lake and the chickens and did not want to leave the farm to visit Florence! Our "villa" felt like home and the boys had cozy bunkbeds. For parents travelling with energetic children this place was a balm for the senses and we left refreshed! Thank-you! Kate Reston

La Presura is an amazing hotel! It is a 30 minute drive from Florence and very easy to find. There were three adults and one toddler in our room - and we still had space to move around! The wine produced on this farm is excellent. We were able to taste & purchase the wine at the reception desk. The staff was very friendly and helpful with travel information. We would stay at "La Presura" again.

There was no welcome. The office facility was locked and not staffed at checkin or checkout (we had to leave without checking out). We found a non-english speaking person (not the owner who appears to be an absentee landlord) living in an apartment who gave us a key to the room. The entrance is dangerously located on a sharp curve on Route 222 with a steep driveway. There is a mirror to monitor traffic from the right. There needs to be another mirror added to see traffic approaching from the left. It was only the alertness of an oncoming driver that prevented us from having an accident exiting the property. The room was spartan, spacious and clean. There were some dishes and utensils available. There were no screens so we had to close the windows at night and still had a few mosquitos to sleep with. The pool was clear and the grounds well maintained. There was no lobby or common area open to guests. The main problems here are lack of communication and safety of access. This was our first stay at an agrotourism facility so I have no comparison. I would recommend the property for being a good value, especially, if you cook and eat in and are on a budget.
