The house faces the Roya river and enjoys a calm and sunny position. From the terrace you can admire the coast, from the mouth of the river as far as Cape Ampelio (Bordighera), and the beautiful mountains which are a feature of the upper Roya Valley.

Guests have the use of a spacious living room complete with fire-place, and of the terrace which boasts a fine collection of botanic pelargonium. By proir arrangement it is also possible to use the kitchen.

The Calandre Beach is a short walk away: it is well known for its very fine sand and is popular with surfies from all over Europe. A few kilometres away is the exclusive Balzi Rossi beach, site of the future marine reserve.

You can visit some of the renowned historic gardens near Ventimiglia: the Hanbury Botanic Gardens, Villa Boccanegra, Villa Voronoff, and you can admire the hanging gardens in Ventimiglia Alta itself.

A short distance away, either by car or using excellent public transport you can visit the celebrated towns and villages of the Cote d’Azur and the Ligurian Riviera and their hinterland: Menton, Montecarlo, Nice, Sanremo, Dolceacqua, Apricale, ...

HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL

By car
Leave the A10/E80 motorway at the Ventimiglia exit and follow the indications for Ventimiglia for about 1,8 km, while keeping the Roya river to your right. Near the round-about you keep to the right and you cross the bridge over the Roya.
While crossing of the bridge keep in the left lane. As you leave the bridge turn left and then IMMEDIATELY right, into a big square, Piazza Constituente. Continue around the right of the square and up Via Biancheri. NB do not go through the tunnel !.
After about 400 metres take the access ramp (Salita Colla) on your right After about 100 metres, at the top of the ramp you will be in front of Porta Nuova, one of the arched entrances to the historic centre. You can park in the parking area that you will find to your left before the entrance, or continue by car to unload your luggage and then park beyond Porta Nizza. About 50 metres inside Porta Nuova, you will see the very beautiful Cathedral on your right, and Via Garibaldi to your left. We are at number 24, after about hundred metres, immediately after the 17thC Oratory of the Black Confraternity You go up to the third floor, door on the right.

By train
- From the railway station of Ventimiglia you can reach Via Garibaldi on foot in about 15-20 minutes (uphill).
- you can take a taxicab, always present at the station exit, with an average cost of €7 - €10. journey time about 5 minutes.

- During the day, Monday to Saturday inclusive, you can use the urban bus that leaves every 60 minutes. The stop is to about 50 metres from the railway station. Go down the street immediately in front of the station. Turn right at the traffic lights. The bus stop is a few metres along on your right. Ask to get off in Via Garibaldi by the clock. You will be near number 24. We are on the third floor, door on the right.

By airplane
- Ventimiglia is accessible by train from Nice. At Nice airport take the number 23 or 99 bus from outside terminal 1 to Nice Ville (central) railway station – about 20 minutes. From the station there are frequent departures to Ventimiglia (Vintimille in French) – the trip lasts about an hour. For timetables you see the preceding section.

- From Genoa airport take the airport bus to Genova PP railway station (about 20 minutes) From here there are Intercity trains to Ventimiglia every 2 hours. See timetables on www.trenitalia.it
