Villa Anna is in secure locked grounds directly from the road. The room was spotlessly clean and everything in the bathroom was working properly. There was a good selection of foods and beverages for breakfast, and the ladies who run it were extremely pleasant and helpful, supplying us with a map and recommending places to visit etc. It's about 10 minutes to the train and bus station, on foot, and a little longer to the Marina, down steep steps, (or you could take a bus). Good value for money and to be recommended. We stayed one week. Over 65s are admitted free to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Villa Poppea, so take copy of passport or some other identification. Pound/Euro exchange rate makes dining out more expensive.

We stayed here last year as a group of six adults and one 18month old to attend our daughters wedding. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. Our daughter and her husband-to-be came to our rooms to get ready for their wedding and were made most welcome even though they were not staying at Villa Anna. Nothing was too much trouble and we were all made to feel very welcome. The breakfasts were very good with a nice variety and good coffee. We would definately stay again and recommend to friends.

The staff were extremely helpful and considerate. The place is about 10 minutes walk from the "old centre" of town, but my Mother and I did not find that a problem.

Although we had wanted a property with a view, the convenience of the intown location was a wonderful trade. It was a matter of minutes to walk to restaurants, the train station, or the marina. Tony, Louisa, and Nina were so pleasant. We are from Florida, so enjoyed the citrus trees in the courtyard and the fresh blood orange juice with breakfast. We wanted to leave early one day for our trip to Pompeii, so they happily served breakfast early.

Lovely B&B close to the centre of Sorrento. Bit difficult to find in the dark, but it was an easy, level walk from the station. Just watch the traffic when you walk out the gates as there is no proper footpath immediately outside. The room was lovely, we had one that opened up on to the terrace/verandah (overlooking the pool), as requested. The gardens are beautiful and really add to the experience. Continental breakfast was great and included cereal, breads, yoghurt, fresh fruit, croissants. Definitely recommend this B&B!

It's a short walk from the train station. The property is pretty and private, in a small citrus orchard. The breakfast was a little weak compared to others I've had. It was too cold for swimming, but the pool was nice.

Superb oasis close to the centre of Sorrento, everything that the other reviewers have said is true! One thing to note is that, when approaching Villa Anna, the entrance is not all that obvious and, particularly from the direction of the station appears as a blank wall, it does have a sign above the wall height and is opposite a hairdressers. Well worth a visit.

Great little hotel! I would highly recommend this property. Clean and comfortable rooms. The owners are friendly helpful people. The best breakfast of our entire 3 week stay in Italy. On site parking is a great asset and a must in Sorrento. Park your car and walk or take public transport. Driving in Sorrento or on the Amalfi Coast is crazy! The property is located within walking distance of the heart of Sorrento. The only downside is that it is hard to find. There are many Via Rota in Sorrento. This is on Via Bernadino Rota. It is only marked by a small sign visible from one direction.

Villa Anna met my expectations and then some. It was clean, bright & cheery. Tony even waited up for us to check us in at 11PM. Best aspects were the personal A/C in your room and the great breakfast buffet. Not so great were the quality of the map to find the place and the fact that it is a 10 minute walk from the center. Although on the other hand that did give us time to walk off the copious amounts of pasta and wine we had consumed. I would definitely stay here again.

Especial atención a Positano y Capri. Unas vacaciones estupendas, se lo recomiendo a todo el mundo!!

Our stay in Villa Anna was very relaxing, the quad room is very spacious, clean with kitchen and air conditioning. The staff/owners made our stay in sorrento very comfortable, breakfast is served amongst the lovely gardens with homemade cakes and jam plently to eat.Oh and the kids will love the hot chocolate. The location is only a 10 min walk to the circumvesuivana station and 5 min walk down viale nizza you will find a great supermarket and shops. The centre of sorrento is not far from the station. Our stay at Villa Anna was only four nights, from 27-31 July 2007. We hope to stay longer next time and would stay here again. Thank you louisa and nina we hope to visit u soon.I will recommend your Villa to family and friends whom wish to visit the lovely Sorrento. Grazie! Venere a great find!

Luisa and her sister were very nice to us. The quality of the room was excellent. The breakfast was well prepared and delicious. They were prompt to help and tell us about bus, ferries and things to visit in Sorrento. One thing that I need to comment is the fact that we could not use the pool. One of the reasons I booked the bed and breakfast was the fact that the property advertised the pool. When we got there we could not use the pool. If they delete pictures about the pool, people will know that the pool is off limits. In general teh room and the service is excellent.

Wonderful stay... Just far enough away from the main hussle and bussle of the town but an easy walk to it. Serene, beautiful landscaped gardens and unbelievably big hydrangeas. Felt like home. Great breakfasts. Definitely exceeded our expectations and added to the whole Italian experience of the Sorrento/Amalfi area. Great place for family.

Excellent experience. Room was large and well appointed. Small kitchen in room. Secure facility with free parking. Breakfast was superb including the owners own homemade orange marmalade! Very close to the center of Sorrento (5 minute walk). Very courteous and treated us like family. Highly recommended for all travelers especially families that can use a small kitchen facility.

Spotless rooms. Friendly staff. Best breakfast we had in Italy. We were able to help ourselves from a buffet of cold cuts, cereal, yogurt, bread, juices, etc. Coffee was made fresh for us. The gardens on premises are beautiful. The swimming pool, while now repaired and beautiful, had a sign on it saying it is now only available to permanent residents (the building also has some apartments) and off-limits to b&b guests due to recent Italian legislation. The first part of the 10 min walk to the center of town is a bit unpleasant, along a busy street with no or narrow sidewalks, no crosswalks, and occasional dog poop, but this type of pedestrian unfriendliness is typical everywhere in Sorrento (except when they close the streets down to traffic from 8pm to 2am every night for the evening passegiata). While the property is on a busy street, the building is set far enough back from the street that street noise was never a problem in the slightest (and I am pretty sensitive to noise).

I stayed at the Villa Anna for 5 days.It was a little tricky to find. The beds are very hard and the shower head was hard to use. The room was very clean and nice. The views from our terrace were wonderful of the pool area. Because of Italian liability laws, only family was able to use the pool. The breakfast was very good for Italy. The distance from Piazzo Tasso was about a 15-20 min.walk due to heavy traffic and heavy foot traffic as well. However, any hotel closer to the center would have been very noisy. A great place if you don't mind walking a distance and the price was right. I would definitely stay here again.

This was our first visit to Sorrento. Villa Anna was a great base for our excursions. Our room with kitchen corner, was clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet was very good. The family/owners were very pleasant and helpful, but never intrusive. As it was my sister's birthday, i had asked for fruit and wine. This was beautifully presented, along with a lovely bouquet of flowers - much appreciated! We would definitely recommend Villa Anna, as we would with the Foreigners Club. The food at the club is excellent and moderately priced, views over the bay are wonderful. Places which are a MUST SEE, are Positano, Ravello, including Villa Rufulo and Villa Cimbrone. The island of Capri is worth at least two visits and a motor boat tour is recommended. Local transport is cheap, however get in the queue for the bus to Amalfi as early as you can, otherwise you could have a long wait! getting the bus to Ravello is survival of the fittest when the school children are around! Avoid taxis or share if you can, they are expensive.Naples is worth a visit. The archaeological and capodimonte museums are very interesting. The Naples city tour is a good way to see the city, but it is not very easy to find the start point from the train station. We also visited Pompeii and had a guided tour, well worth the ten euros. If you book flight only and onward transfer to sorrento, ensure you get dropped off in Piazza Lauro and get a taxi to the villa from there. To sum up we had an excellent holiday and would definitely go back to villa anna.

But the swimming pool will never be used by hotel guests due to some health restrictions and it should be indicated in the web page! My wife and I found Villa Anna to be clean, fairly close to the circumvesuviano station, but not as polished and welcoming as the other hotels we stayed in. It is clear that you are staying in someone's home; although there was a pool, during our stay, there were always relatives of the owner using it, and we did not feel comfortable invading their privacy. More specific directions to the hotel needed to be provided.

We have travelled to Sorrento before but this time it was our honeymoon. We spent 16 days in her apartment which was very clean and private and when we decided to stay for a couple of days more, Anna was very accomodating and we moved to a room which has its own refigerator, bathroom and balcony. Both accomodations were clean, beautifully decorated, complete with towels. Anna changes these and cleans every 3 days. The compliementary breakfast is huge with cereal, coffee, fruit, toast, jam, pastry and juice. Breakfast is served in a beautiful building beside the pool, an outside kitchen/dining room. The Villa Anna is quiet and private and located near the center of town-about a 10 minute walk to the train station and 15 minutes to Piazza Tasso. The Villa is housed inside a wall with a gate, with lemon and orange trees, hibuscus, potted flowers, private sitting areas in the shade, a hammock, parking, and a pool. The hospitality and service provided by Anna and her family is second to none. The warmth and sense of humour was wonderful. They made us feel completely at ease and at home. We cannot say enough wonderful things about this family and their care for those who stay with them. We will definitely come back to Anna's and encourage all to do so as well. Lovely! Thank you for having us-it was a great pleasure to meet you, as well:)The Foreigner's Club also has great food, entertainment and dancing as well as a wonderful view over the Bay of Naples-reasonably priced as well! The breakfast served on time and even earlier if requested. The B&B was just a ten minute easy walk away from the town center of Sorrento, which in itself was fantastic! I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking and will return in the future.

We only stayed one night, but we were impressed with the value for money. The complex has parking behind a security gate, a swimming pool and a dining room where breakfast was served. The villa is close to many attractions in Sorrento, including restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was fairly small, although for the price this is a good compromise. The bathroom was a good size with a proper shower. The only problem we had was that the villa was a little difficult to find as the sign was very small. Overall, this place is great value for money - probably one of the cheapest places on the Amalfi Coast. We will definitely stay here again.

We spent a week in the flat. We enjoyed sitting in the lemon grove and breakfast by the small swimming pool. It was just far enough from the main part of town to be peaceful but accessible. We happened to be there when Sorrento won a soccer championship so it was quite a party on the weekend. An easy boat to Capri, bus to Amalfi or tran to Pompeii and Naples.
