The accommodation was excellent - a spacious flat rather than just a room. However, it was somewhat noisy because of its location on a main street but this died down by later in the evening(take your earplugs). Breakfasts were rather disappointing as they consisted of pre-packaged croissants. Also we were asked to pay in cash which we had not been warned of.

Nice place to stay in the centre of beautifull town. Close to bus station to go to Poggibonsi and reach trains. A little noisy, if you are staying in rooms with windows to main street. Breakfast is O.K., but if you are staying longer, you want to change a little the same food every morning.

Apart from some difficulty actually getting into the building and the fact that the two people who settled us into the apartment didn't speak English, this was a highlight of our Tuscan visit. Despite the language barrier this lovely couple were absolutely delightful. We wish we had spent more time in this great spot.

This was our first visit to San Gimignano, but we'll definately go back. It was wonderful. The person in charge was wonderful. As a result of cancelled and rerouted flights my suitcase got lost and we arrived late at night, instead of during the morning. The owner was waiting outside the door in the street for us after we have phoned in to say that we will be late. They also offered to receive my suitcase once it was found again, so that we could go out and enjoy the day, in stead of waiting for the courier to arrive. The breakfasts and service were excellent and the rooms quiet and clean. We can highly recommend La Casa di Giovanna, also because of its wonderful location in the heart of San Gimignano's main street.

It was very difficult finding the parking lot designated for this Bed and Breakfast. We ended up parking close to the B & B, but had to pay. The host was not as friendly as in other places we had stayed throughout Italy. The room was very nice and spacious; breakfast typical, but good. It is well situated within San Gimignano and we did walk throughout the Town, which is certainly another wonderful medieval city not to be missed. We took a tour in one of the museum buildings that was most informative and well worth the price. It is a very busy tourist area because of the unique towers, but again, not to be missed.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at La Casa di Giovana, this time with family. The stay was wonderful and the signora and her family were very welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend the property in terms of location and price and will certainly stay again.

We had 2 large rooms connected by a small common area. There was large terrace overlooking a garden for breakfast and just relaxing at the end of the day. Beautiful rooms, great breakfast and very friendly people. You are right in town which is a treat in the evening.

The hotel was well located in the center of San Gimignano, a short walk up from the main tourist entrance. Don't try to drive to it. Park outside and walk your bags up. The hotel provides tickets for free parking in a lot about 10 minutes away. The mother and son who owned it are very nice and helpful. Breakfast is fairly minimal but OK and is served in a small dining area in the mother's apartment. We started with a large room overlooking the main street but it was fairly noisy especially at 6 AM when the street cleaning machine came by. They switched us to another room that was quieter and overlooked a common patio. We used the B & B as a base to explore Tuscany and visited Sienna and Florence easily from there. We had a car but there is a bus to the trains in a nearby town.

This small B&B is in an excellent location on the main pedistrianised street. The room was spacious & clean. There was a shared outside balcony overlooking a small garden. Despit its central location the was quiet & restful. The only thing that let the B&B down was the breakfast. I am sure that the lady running this B&B in her own apartment suite was trying her best, but things like dry bread being served on each of the 3 days of our stay just took the edge of the quality of service provided.

We loved La Casa di Giovanna. We were greeted by our hostess who immediately showed us to our room and helped us figure out how to use the keys. The room was extremely spacious and the bathroom was very clean. We had a great window that looked right onto one of the main thoroughways in San Gimignano so we were able to look out and watch people. The bed was very comfy and breakfast the next morning was fresh and delicious.

just walk up the main street and check the names on the doors and you'll have no trouble finding the house. the hostess is lovely, just lovely. we overlooked the main street and enjoyed the bustle below as well as the locals after the tours left the town. the best gelato is just up ahead. painting in the squares was a pleasure. dinner at il pina was lovely. a smart silversmith jewelry shop is off the alley to the right. i met the artist and he speaks english well. i love the ring that i bought, even though my husband hasn't noticed it yet.

Excellent accomodation with two large double rooms with a shared covered patio to sit and enjoy a drink. The owner was a lovely Italian lady who spoke little English but was very friendly and provided an excellent breakfast. Best tasting tomato bruschetta I've ever had. Straight from the garden! Would recommend this B&B to anyone. Right in the heart of the old town and very clean and comfortable rooms.

Huge, immaculate and charming room, plus the most sumptuous breakfasts of our trip (fresh provolone, melon, ham, tomatoes, bread...) The hostess was very kind and I would heartily recommend this Bed and breakfast to anyone.

Family of 3 visiting San Gimingnano for the first time. We had two huge connecting rooms that opened onto a balcony overlooking a fine vegetable garden and a quiet street with a view of the hills - couldn't be better. Senora greeted us at the door when we arrived, and treated us as real guests in her home, a finely furnished town house (17th century?). We recommend La Casa Di Giovanna very highly. The town is very interesting, especially how it becomes a quiet hill town when the tour buses leave around 5 p.m. Note that Senora does not do credit cards, but there are three bank machines in the town's piazza.

This is a special place...we enjoyed the private respite this place envoked. The owner is italian speaking only, however an english speaking family member was present at our arrival time for Q&A. The parking situation was a bit confusing and should be explained in full detail. Basically, park in the general public area, walk to the townhouse and they will provide info on parking (which is FREE), just be sure to ask questions. The room is spacious and lovely with an enclosed sun patio that looks out onto a lovely garden! The mattress is soft, so not the best for folks with a back problem requiring a firm mattress. The breakfast was served in the owner's own breakfast nook, so you feel like a welcomed member of the "family" and was quite hearty and delicious! Kodos to the Giovanna's!

We stayed at La Casa for only one night but I wish we could have stayed for a week! The room was more like a small flat with a separate sitting area and a small kitchen where we could prepare our own breakfast. The bathroom was very clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom furnished in a tasteful rustic way.
The location was perfect - just a short walk from the main car park and although it's on the main street there was no noise during the night.
The only drawback is that the building has no lift and there were a lot of stairs to reach our room so carrying a heavy suitcase can be hard. The sweet old lady who runs the place speaks no English but we managed to communicate perfectly using a few Italian words and a lot of body language.
I highly reccommend La Casa to anyone wishing to stay in the village.

Most welcoming and familiar atmosphere. Nice breakfast. Twin bed in a spacious room with access to a terrace. Not so difficult to find if you are aware of the discrete sign on the entrance door which we were informed by others on this review site. Public car parking available outside the town wall. Most expensive at P2 Parcheggio Montemaggio, closest to Porta San Giovanni, 15 Euro per day. Cheapest at P1 Parcheggio Guibileo, 5 Euro per day, less than 10 min walk from the Porta.

We travelled Italy by public transport and arrived in SanGimignano by bus. Finding La Casa is not too difficult. Go through the town gate and walk up the main street. The house numbers are crazy. Just keep walking and Giovanna’s Casa [its an apartment] is on the left near the first bar with tables in the street.
Our room had a very good private shower and toilet. The room itself was quality – high ceilings, good furniture and good lighting. The windows, with its own shutters, looked down onto the street, which was an entertainment in itself. Traffic noise is only for a short time in the morning delivering to shops. Thereafter, there’s no traffic. The place is excellent value.
Before we arrived, we did wonder about staying in San Gim – the tourists start early – but we liked it very much. Few tourists get into the many back streets and one day we took a quiet walk into the country while on another we hired bicycles. When we got back to San Gim in the evenings most of the tourists had caught their buses and were gone.
Of course, Giovanna was a treasure. I don’t eat so much meat and one morning she provided a wonderful spread with boiled eggs and cheese just for me. What can I say?
Thanks,
Julian

We stayed one night at this B&B. Certainly a good choice and well worth it. The highlight though certainly be the breakfast! This house is owned by an old lady and his son and family. they are all very friendly, and the son speaks english. there is a good restaurant nearby i.e. Chiribiri!. No doubt I will come back to this B&B should i return to San Gimignano.

This was our favorite accommodation from our two weeks in Italy. The town, the rooms, the rest of Giovanna's home, the breakfast, and especially Giovanna herself made our stay here very memorable. The room and bathroom were tidied daily and fresh towels provided. The B&B was very easy to find, just a short walk inside the town walls, and San Gimingano is a great place to call home while exploring the rest of the Tuscan countryside.

What a great place in a lovely town. We had a room with a little terrace, spacious bathroom, a bed set up for our son. Everything very clean. Breakfast was good, meats, cheese, bruchetta, pastries-enough to keep us going through the day. In our ten day trip of Italy, travelling with a five year old, we would have to say this was the best place, and best value for money. We wished we had booked two nights here as this town is quite lovely and a nice break from busy Florence and Venice. My husband speaks Italian so conversing with the hostess was no problem. She was delightful. Would definetely recommend.

we were most pleased with our stay at this b and b, our room must have been the best location with ability to peer directly down to main street. we had slight problem with finding the correct door due to address markings but area people were most helpful... would look forward to staying here again and highly recommend.

This is the best place to stay in San Gim, it is so reasonable and central. Take a phrase book if you have no Italian as the lady who runs it has very little English. She is very kind and you will get by.
