My daughter and I were welcomed warmly by Paolo, even though we arrived very early without calling or e-mailing our itinerary (my oversight). Interior was as pictured, very spacious & clean. Location could not have been better; we walked to most destinations. Quietness of room was slightly disturbed by some renovations going on nearby, not a biggie.

We enjoyed very much our first tryp to Rome thanks to Casa di Iginia e Paolo. Near the center of the city, we walked every day, about ten minutes and...voilá! The Big Rome.
Paolo`s (we met two guys with the same name)are very friendlys, breakfast was wonderful (gives you energy for all day!) but not like English breakfast. Very nice and spacious room, bathroom in good conditions...If you go to Rome for a few days and want a good place for not much money, take this!!!

This is a fairly good little hotel to use when staying in Rome. I used the bed and breakfast service provided but as I had an early start with a bus departing the nearby Termini at 7am, there was no chance to have breakfast. I was disappointed that the B&B did not leave me even a small packaged cornetto as they knew in advance that I would be leaving early, but I guess this is what can happen. But they were friendly and the rate was reasonable for Rome in mid-Summer.

Nice stay in general, spacious rooms, at least those with bathroom. Rest of common areas quite ok for the price. A bit noisy during the night, even with new and isolating windows, but no problem to sleep. Recommended

Cosy, welcoming property. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice big rooms. Very clean. Heating and showers worked well. Fairly quiet residential area. Bus stop 150 metres, Termini train station and metro about 10 minutes walk. Would recommend.

100% recomendable.

The hosts Iginia and Paolo are wonderful hosts. We really enjoyed our stay, and breakfasts with a chat with Paolo are great. When you stay at this hotel, expect to laugh, as Paolo has a great sense of humour and enjoys a good laugh.

Accommodation in Rome is fairly expensive. So if you're looking for something basic, centrally located, clean and budgeted, Casa di Iginia e Paolo is it. We stayed at this B&B for only 2 nights and we found it to be just fine. The room we had was a decent size, clean with big windows which looked out onto Via Romagna. The bathroom was shared and the shower stall was tiny of course which was common in most hotels in Italy. We were close to the Via Veneto area. We also took buses around, but we were within walking distance to nearby piazzas, the Spanish Steps, Trevi and Termini Station. Paolo the owner was a gentleman and an overall good guy. He recommended a restaurant called Fratelli la Bufala on Via Velletri which was about 7 minutes walk from the B&B. It was excellent! My boyfriend and I had dinner there one night we loved it. And my boyfriend is Italian and knows his food. This B&B is a good choice if you're on a budget and only need a place to sleep and shower.

This was our first B&B in Europe, unused to the proprietors not being on the premises at all times. Breakfast was packaged pastries and premade oj, nothing fresh so we ate out detracting from the value. The room was clean initially, but the trash was never emptied. Construction work in the courtyard of the building started at 7:30 each morning. The public area was a hallway. The location was great but if you are looking for charm and personal touches don't stay here.

the location of the stay was excellent, with the station being a 15 minute walk away. Paolo was a friendly host. However, the standard of cleanliness in the bathroom was poor; the bin was still full from the previous occupant, and the toilet still showed signs of use from the previous occupant - nice! The wardrobe was broken and the shower cubicle was very small.
We both felt that 100 euros per night was expensive for the standard of accomodation on offer. If the bathroom was clean and the room better appointed then our response would have been more positive. This was the most basic B&B we have ever stayed in.

My wife and me stayed at Paolos for 3 nights and we were very lucky to have booked this accomodation.
The rooms were spacious, clean and pretty new. At night there was some traffic noise on via romangna, but as the rooms are air conditioned , you can close the windows.
The shared bathrooms were cleen, too.
Breakfast was ok.
Paolo was very nice and gave advice to everything concerning sightseeing, parking, etc.
Via romangna is located very close to the famous villa borghese and not far from all the other sights (we walked everywhere). Otherwise there are bus stations everywhere round via romangna and the metro station "barberini" can be reached within a 10 minutes walk.
We would come back here again to visit wonderful Rome!

Volveremos!!!

If you arrive by car, parking might become very expensive! Try to get one of the few free parking spaces in front of the bank at via boncompagni (best time 6:30 pm) and take the metro and/or the bus.
Brekfast might become better with fresh bakery (bred, croissants) and more intense coffee.

Having travelled and stayed in several major cities in Europe, I can say that the quality of service and overall spaciousness and accessability to significant sites (Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps)at Casa di Iginia e Paolo was excellent. I would (and already have) recommended it to family and friends.

This B&B is great!!! The location is superb, few blocks from the luxurious via Veneto and the Spanish steps. The surrounding is very good, with great access to major sites and very nice and secure.- Paolo is like Mario Bross, tipical Italian with great humour and kind!!! Rooms are big and tidy (they clean and change the sheets frecuently).- The breakfast is very good and the relation price-quality is excellent!!! The baths (shared) are allways clean and never had any problems, there are 2 complete WC for 5 rooms.- Never find a deal like this!!

Our stay in Roma was fantastic.
We got a warm welcoming from Paolo.
The room was very clean but very noisy in the morning because of the traffic on the street. We shared a bathroom with other people who were not so clean! They must think about painting again the bathroom. Anyway Roma is so beautiful!

We appreciate the hospitality of the owner, leaving us his mobile phone 24h/day, giving the plan, etc. Rooms are a little bit smaller than on the photos, but they are quite. A cheap pizzeria is 20 meters away. The subway is 20 min by feet. We may recommend this hotel with our thanks for the nice stay.

It was a great stay! The place was clean and quiet. Paolo gave us a map of the city centre and explained how to reach the main places of interest. All of them were located nearby, we reached them by foot. Coffee in the morning was excellent. And Paolo advised a nice place for dinner just 5 minutes' walk from the B&B. Although our stay was paid until 10 a.m., Paolo kindly let us leave our luggage at the B&B until our actual departure in the evening.

The building and the common rooms (bathroom, kitchen)are rather old-looking but the bedrooms are fresh, spacious and clean. Four rooms are in front of the main street and are really noisy during the night (but with wax-boals in the ears, it's OK to sleep).
Paolo is kind and discreet. The breakfast is standard (prepacked bread, marmelade, coffee,..). To visit Rome, this B&B is good located and the quality-price comparison is good.

I was only able to stay here for two days so my overall stay was very short. I did however enjoy the location and the convenient transportation. The owner of the B & B was very friendly and gave us a lot of information on the area. I only wish I had time to enjoy more of Rome. Thanks for making my very short trip, worth it!!!!!

Horrible Bed and Breakfast. Dirty, small rooms (not even a TV), showers so tiny that only anorexic people could fit comfortably. It's not a joke: a sligthly overweighted person or a pregnant woman cannot enter the shower. 100 euros for such a place is not acceptable, even in Rome. In fact, this Bed and Breakfast is probably not an official accomodation facility, but a private appartment that is used as a hotel. There is no sign that indicates that it is a B & B on the door. Not even on the bell. They just indicate the name of the owner. They don't give you any bill. You are requested to pay (cash of course, no credit card) upon arrival. I wonder whether this type of business is legal. I strongly urge the Italian tourist authorities to control this type of activity.
I was fooled by the comments of former customers on this site. I wonder how the tolerance of some people is so high. Some even found the relationship quality/price to be good. This place is not better than a student's room. In fact, many students facilities I used in my youth were much better than this place.
Just a word on breakfast: it was served in the kitchen of the appartment and consisted of coffee (yes, freshly brewed, but no other choice, among others: no decaf.)and pre-packed cookies. Period.
Conclusion: get away from that place. Venere: this place should not be announced on your website. It does not reach the minimum standard.

Only 2 showerooms in the whole property. Clean if you compare it with the apalling conditions of every toilet in Rome, not so if you compare it with spanish standards. Horrible linen and towels treadbare and stained. No TV. No sofa. No communal areas where you can relax. Poor breakfast (stale croissant, no toaster).

We arrived quite late (after 10.30) and I had forgotten to call Paolo from the airport. We got to the building (quite easy to find) and rang the bell, but he wasn't there. I called his mobile and he arrived in two minutes on his moped. He was very welcoming and we were glad to be quite close to all the sights. We were only there for one night, but the traffic outside was very noisy at the front of the building and we had our windows closed and shuttered. Ask for an inside room when booking. Breakfast was okay - we had been tempted to book by promises of great coffee, but it wasn't that great and so with that and the noise we were a little disappointed.
However - Paolo was great - the rooms are very spacious, there's certainly more than one shower-room for everyone to share and it is convenient for Termini (15-20 minute walk) and the Spanish steps. Further than that and it's a bit of a trek.
It was also great to stay in Rome without paying lots and lots. We were travelling on from Termini to Naples the next day and were so glad to stay in the city. Book this place if you don't need a swanky hotel.
Thanks Paolo.

Esperamos volver...

Breakfast prepackaged, coffee good.
We had much noise from courtyard one night (partying) and every night upstairs family (chairs dragging across floor, footsteps)
Noise stopped around 10 pm
OK for the price, but if you want to get to bed early to get over jet lag, the noise may be an issue.

Simple, but clean. Most people stayed only one or two nights. It is pretty far away from Trastevere and Piazza Navona. And there are not much restaurants and bars around. But therfore its a safe neighborhood.

Paolo was great. He porvided us with a lot of information about Rome. He always pulled out a map to keep us from getting lost. He even gave us his cell phone number and said that it was always on. The room was the largest that we encountered on our trip. The only downside is that it is on the second floor (third in the US) of a building with an unmarked door and no lift. This was a wonderful place to stay especially considering the price.

Great location. It's a huge flat with 6 or 7 differet sizes bedrooms so don't expect it to be a hotel, this flat is in a residential building. Paolo is a fantastic and welcoming guy, very helpful. Our room had a shower included, tiny, but did the job. If you're looking to stay in a well located, not expensive place and you don't mind about room decor or shower size then this is definitely the place for you.

Paolo does make the best coffee. My only suggestion would be that the place had a phone. But there are some several blocks in different directions away. It was a short walk to the Spanish Steps and Villa Borghese and even Termini Stazione. About 10-15 minutes tops to each place.
