We thought that Giusy made the stay especially good. She was there when we needed her but not hovering. Her recommendations on restaurants and sites were dead-on and her breakfast was very well done and all that we needed. We would recommend her place and would stay there again.

Absolute match to what is described in Venere. Jiusy is delightful and very helpful. In a way we wish we had a chance to enjoy more than just our room but there's so much to do in Rome . . .

The room was very lovely, immaculate and beautifully decorated, and the bed was very comfortable. Our private bathroom was right next door to our bedroom and it was very nicely appointed. There is, however, a somewhat complicated locking system to Giusy's outer door to her home, which is located in an apartment-type building. Besides two separate locks, there were instructions to go along with the locks and how many locks to lock based on the number of keys that were present in the basket when you arrived. At first this seemed a bit overwhelming (we were given a one-page printed instruction sheet with the caption "Good Luck" on the bottom) but we mastered it. Giusy did remind us on two occasions that "This is my home, not a big hotel." which, of course we understood, but the message was clear, we'd better get this right. Her home is beautiful, and she has a talent for decorating that I found artistic and interesting. Additionally, this is located in a great and convenient area in Trastevere, now that I've mastered the locking system, I would definitely stay there again.

Guisy herself was wonderful: welcoming, warm, accomodating, and very helpful. The room was lovely, as described and pictured. The breakfasts were tasty and perfect. We'll stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at "A Casa di Giusy" very much. Nice room with plenty of space to put your stuff up and a very nice bathroom. The windows are excellent and pretty much keep the noise out. Close to a fun area and some nice little restaurants. Giusy, herself is very pleasant.

I would definitely recommend A Casa di Giusy to anyone travelling to Rome. We stayed in the standard room, which to be honest was anything but standard. We had an incredibly comfortable King size bed, with our own dressing room, and a beautiful granite bathroom. The couple staying in the superior room at the time we were there also said they had a great room too. It was incredibly clean, and Giusy did a great job of tidying the room every day when we were out sight seeing. The B&B is walking distance away from all of Rome's major sights, although we did choose to get the tram or the bus on a couple of occasions. The best thing however is that it is located in a great place for going out in the evening. Trastevere has some great restaurants and bars, all of which are reasonably priced in comparison to those around the major tourist hotspots. All in all, a great find, in a great location, with a great host!

This was the first trip to Rome for my husband and me. We were there from 3/31/07 - 4/4/07, which was a great time to go. The weather was perfect - about 70F and sunny most of the time. It was very crowded because it was Holy Week, but the only place that crowds were a problem was at St. Peter's Basilica. A friend recommended that we stay in Trastevere and we're happy he did. Giusy's B&B was the perfect place to stay. It was a great location - very close to the Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere which was our favorite hang out. We found that eating in Trastevere, rather than "on the other side of the river" was much cheaper and the food was excellent. We were able to walk to all the major Roman sites from the B&B and were surprised at how small Rome actually is. We only took a bus once to St. Peter's Basilica, but we walked back. It was a lot of walking, but we saw even more of Rome that way. It was a bit difficult to communicate with Giusy (pronounced "Josie") because we speak no italian, but she was an excellent hostess. I read a review that it was noisy. It was a bit noisy because there's a restaurant downstairs, but it certainly wasn't terrible. There aren't too many places in Rome that are quiet. The Romans wake up late and stay up late. It's funny because there's hardly anyone up before 10:00 a.m. Everything is so quiet in the morning, so if you don't want noise, just go to bed really late and sleep in! We would definitely recommend staying at a Casa di Giusy and would stay here again if (hopefully when) we return.

Giusy has converted rooms in her private residence into B&B accomodation. The overwhelming feeling is being a welcomed guest in someone's home. The room was immaculately presented and comfortable, as were the other rooms we had access to, with evidence of artistic flare and Italian style everwhere. Giusy was a wonderful host who never lost patience with our lack of Italian. A good breakfast. Our room was above a restaurant, but the noise from that, or from the street never bothered us - top quality window joinery keeps the noise out, but we were able to sleep with the window open. Pricing is reasonable for Rome when the quality of the accomodation and the location is taken into account. The location is superb - a great restaurant district minutes away, really close to a tram stop, and walking distance to everything in central Rome. Our only difficulty was with the map when we first arrived. The street is almost not a street and not marked on most maps. We ended up getting the assistance of the local Polizia and even they had to consult maps in the yellow pages! Big tip - it is almost next door to the McDonalds on Viale di Trastevere near the river end of the road - not a good advertisement admittedly, but the place is totally avoidable, and it is a good landmark We strongly recommend A Casa di Giusy. We will certainly want to stay with Giusy again if/when we return to Rome

The room was nice and good, but we expected a small hotel and not a private apartment where the residents are letting out 2 rooms! The downside of this is that the woman had to be home when we arrived and departed (and we could not let our luggage stay, which meant that we lost the last day - event thought trying other possibilities). Now a bit of warning! Do not dine/eat in the restaurant down stairs! Quality is very low and price is very high! There are many other interesting restaurants!

"A Casa di Giusy" is a real find. The apartment is stunning, the location excellent, and Giusy herself warm, vibrant and most charminng. We are already planning our next trip to Italy around our stay at "A Casa di Giusy." We can't imagine that a five-star hotel could offer a more rewarding experience. Like it or not, all of our future Italy trips must now include Rome because of Giusy!

Excellent apartment in an interesting part of Rome. There were plenty of outdoor restaurants close by, and transport via tram and bus was adequate. Giusy was a good host and we particularly enjoyed her breakfasts.

We stayed with Giusy for two nights while in Rome and were very pleased with our accommodations. Giusy is easy to get along with and helpful even through the language barrier. The home and room were both beautiful, a wonderfully refurbished 2nd story apartment. Our Bedroom was spacious and comfortable, however, the window overlooks the restaurant below which could provide a noise problem for those travellers wishing to go to bed early. The Trestavarie neighborhood was outstanding with an authentic nightlife atmosphere of restaurants and bars. We spent both nights walking the local streets and enjoying the warm evenings with the locals. When I go back to Rome this is the only place that I would stay. Easy access to a tourist free area with close bus service into the heart of town with a wonderful host at a reasonible price. Thanks for everything Guisy!

We like the location of "A Casa di Giusy" and walked from it to most of the monuments and museums. The B&B is inviting, the rooms are smallish but there is plenty of room in the living room and terrace to relax after a day of monuments and museums. Giusy is a very special hostess, welcoming, helpful, interesting and fun. We enjoyed our breakfasts and the conversations with her at breakfasts. We shall return.

Who wrote her reviews? Giusy was not friendly, helpful or anything of the sorts. When we asked for some soap for the bathroom, she said it was there. There was none. A small shampoo bottle from a Sheraton Hotel was there. We had to buy our own soap. The room was extremely hot and noisy. We had to ask for a fan. The room is directly over a restaurant with patio seating and noise till late into the night. The "Bed&Breakfast" is an apartment on the second floor! The nice "patio" is on a terrace between apts.and roofs. When we asked for Giusy to call us a cab, she opened a book and then told us that she called 3 companies and no one answered. We wound up having to walk to our tours. Asked her to make dinner reservations. Never made them for us. She was extremely nasty the morning we left. Look for another place to stay!

My fiance and I stayed in Rome for 3 nights. The location in Trastevere is perfect, no doubt about it. Lots of great restaurants around the backstreets (look for where the locals eat, and give the restaurant downstairs a miss!!) and just a short walk or tram into all the tourist action and scenery. Our stay at Casa de Giusy was nice. Our room was nice - but beware, there is no fan, air-con or much of a breeze and the street is quite noisy. The bathroom facilities were great and Giusy certainly kept everything very clean and tidy - however she wasn't overly friendly towards us and her English was terrible, so communicating was a little hard. Breakfast was ok if you're into cakes and sweets. Next time in Rome I think we'll stick to a hotel. This was the priciest B&B we stayed in during our 5 week holiday, but definately not the best. I also didn't realise that the owners bedroom would be directly opposite ours, which made us a little paranoid, seeing as we were in her house. It felt as though we were invading her house and privacy, especially as she was a little rude to us on a couple of occasions.

We enjoyed four nights at Casa di Guisy in June. The locations was fabulous, as we were able to walk all over Rome from there. The accomodations were extremely clean and modern (best bathroom of the trip!). There is a noisy restaurant just below her flat--but Rome is noisy everwhere, so just bring earplugs, or go down and join the party. Guisy was very nice and made us feel quite comfortable in her home. We could come and go as we pleased, and when our sightseeing had us up very early, breakfast was left ready for us. (In other places we would have to skip breakfast when up and out early.) We would definitely stay there again!

This B&B is in an excellent location, within walking distance of all the attractions of Rome, and all the bars and restaurants of Trastevere are literally on the doorstep. The room was beautifully furnished and very clean. We would have no hesitation in staying there again, and will recommend it to friends.

Giusy's flat in Trastevere is tastefully decorated and the wood beamed ceilings in the rooms provide great charm. Breakfast was beautifully served on the large wooden table in the dining room with classical music playing in the background. Giusy was welcoming and gave us a key to her home. While the lock system seemed complicated, we mastered it quickly. We were surprised by the graffiti around Rome in general, but didn't run into any safety problems. We walked and used the bus to get around to the different areas. We thought walking everywhere was a bit difficult and we are athletic people; also we didn’t have as much time. The bus system is very convenient and a Tabacchi shop (where you buy bus tickets) and a bus stop is located close to Giusy's. Giusy has 2 bedrooms for guests and the room we stayed in was a good size, very clean and had a beautiful bathroom just outside the room with a small bathtub/shower. Our bedroom overlooked a restaurant, so it was noisy at night while patrons were eating dinner/supper (the only negative), but was otherwise peaceful and quiet. The bed linens felt wonderful and were very comfortable. Overall, a very memorable stay in Rome! Thank you!

'Giusy's Place' is a great one to be based in for exploring Rome by foot. We loved 'coming home' over the Tiber, and being able to stroll out for dinner in the fascinating Trastevere 'village'. Giusy is the perfect hostess, and rightly proud of welcoming you into her lovely home. We chose her B&B because of the comments of previous guests... they were right, and we'll be back! Guisy was welcoming to us in her cosy apartment. The location of the place in Trastavere is central. The only setback about this place is the standard room we have is above a restaurant and therefore we can hear the tables and chairs being shifted each night and the noise from the street below was disturbing to our sleep time. Also the private bathroom is actually a detached bath outside the room.

It was a very nice stay. Giusy was a very friendly, excellent host and served a rich breakfest ( italian style, almost sweet, but also with cheese). The rooms are wonderfull decorated and very clean. Only one night we had a problem with partynoise in the neigborhoud, but you are living central in Trastevere and can visit all sightseeings by feet. Mille gracie Giusy, we will return.

We had a wonderful time at A Casa di Guisy. It's situated in walking distance to many attraction such as the Colleseum. Our room was lovely. We especially loved the bathroom. Giusy is a very nice person who offers great service. She even got up to make us breakfast really early one day because we were going on a day trip to Pompei! Breakfast was wonderful everyday. The only really complaint we have is that we wish we had known in advance that she doesn't accept credit cards.

We loved our stay at Casa di Giusy and Giusy, herself, could not have been more welcoming. Breakfasts were very substantial, the towels were fresh everyday and the sheets changed 3 times during our 9 day stay. The casa is an oasis of calm but it is close to the bus route and an internet cafe. We strongly recommend Casa di Giusy and hope to return.

Whoever is going to Rome, they should stay in the area Travservere. Whoever going to stay in Travservere, they should stay at Giusy's. I never been to a B&B which actually make you feel like home!! When in Rome we will always stay at A Casa di Giusy. There couldn't possibly be a lovelier place to stay which is also perfectly located in the vibrant Trastevere area. It's walking distance to all of Rome's main sights with the option of taking the tram which is so easily accessible at your doorstep. The tram/train system was also so simple to use going to the airport. Our stay couldn't have been so special if it weren't for Giusy herself. Her sparkling personality and warmth really added to our visit, not to mention her impeccable taste in music and decor - just beautiful. Thank you, Giusy, for all your help and making our stay all the more wonderful.

We were only there for an overnight. The room and bath were very beautiful and Trastevere is where we wanted to be. Way too many locks on the door to get in and out though and we would probably still be out in the hallway if Giusy wasn't there to let us in!

Excelent B&B. This was the first time we stayed in a B&B and we were pleasently supprised with the great service Guisy provides. It is a beautiful and clean B&B with a great breakfast. The rooms are very nice and so are the bathroom facilities. The B&B is located in an old district with lots of good restaurants and old squares where you can sit outside and enjoy your expresso. All the tourist atractions in old Rome and the shopping streets are in walking distance, so a good location to stay. If you contact Guisy she will arrange a posh private taxi for you for a good price. If you are going to Rome then staying at Guisy is a must, so book this B&B if she still has room, because word is getting arround about this very special B&B.

It was a very pleasant time staying at A Casa di Giusy. The B&b is very good place to visit rome. We stayed the first time in Rome an it was great! Giusy always helped us in every way we demanded. The rooms are really beautyful, very nice furniture, the bathroom is beautyful, too. The rooms and the bath has been very clean. The location of Giusy is great, because you can visit Rome from there by feet. Trastevere is a very busy part of Rome, so you can go out for dinner in a very good way. If we will visit Rome any time again, one thing is sure: we will stay at Giusy. Thanks for all.

One of the best parts of visiting Rome was staying in such a beautiful place. We found the location perfect, plumbing modern, our room very clean and comfortable. Most of all "Giusy" our hostess welcomed us to her home like family. We spent hours before our trip looking through page after page on the web trying to find such a place. We had a wonderful stay in the bed&breakfast. The room and the part of the appartement open to guests are well-kept and elegantly furnished. The breakfast is rich in choices. The owner is very kind and provides high hospitality. The only slightly negative remark is that there is a rather high noise level in the streets (which is quite normal for Rome, in my opinion)

We had a fantastic time staying at a Casa di Guisy. Guisy was very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom quite modern. It was a little bit off the main street, so was as quite as a place can get in bustling Rome. The location was within walking distance to the major sites of Rome, but being a non-tourist area it gave us a great feel of how it is to live in Rome. There are lots of great restaurants and cafes in Trastevere, which also seemed to be a little cheaper than places like Trevi Fountain. We will definitely stay with Guisy again next time we are in Rome.

Our stay at " A Casa di Giusy " was the 2nd time we had visited Rome . On the first occasion we stayed in a hotel . As far as we are concerned there was just no comparison between the two visits and we found ourselves asking " Who would want to stay in a hotel when you could stay in such a clean tastefully decorated home. " The breakfasts were most enjoyable especially the coffee and croissants and the accompanying classical CD made it a lovely way to start the day.Although there was a language barrier we very quickly learned how to cope with the security system !! The location was ideal both for sightseeing and restaurants for an evening meal. Thank you Giusy for making us feel so much at home ,we will be back and I suspect a few of our friends might also pay you a visit some day.

Staying at 'A Casa di Giusy' made our trip to Rome more special. First, the Venere website helped us a lot to easily find the place that we like. Then when we arrived at the place, it looked just as shown in the website, especially the characteristic of a 200+ years old building makes it even more charming. Not only the way the owner, Ms.Giusy, decorates her house, but her taste in arts and classical music compliments very well. Every morning, a big breakfast will be served in a pretty style..to fuel ourselves before exploring the city. The location is another important attribute. It is just in a walking distance to anywhere. We did not use any transportation but WALK! Within 20-30 mins, you will reach the Pantheon, Colossuem, the Vatican... It is the best way to enjoy Rome! But if you want to use public transport, the tram and bus are available as well, just 2 mins walk from the house. It is also safe even if you come back late at night. All in all, I really recommend those who like quiet atmosphere and want to stay in a 'tasteful Roman style' to make Giusy's place your home in Rome. - - It is such a unique place.

Our stay at Giusy's was excellent all around. The location is close to everything, Giusy is a welcooming hostess and our room was very clean and spacious. We were given keys for entry and exit which were a tad confusing at first, but not difficult. The home is surprisingly clean and modern compared to the neighborhood in which it is located. Graffiti on the front door of the building was a turn-off, but once inside, we forgot about it. There was no telephone nor television for our use but the homemade breakfasts every morning and an incredible dinner one night cooked by our hostess made our trip unforgettable. We will definitely go back next time in Rome.
