Very well located near the Termini train- and metro station. Friendly, English speaking reception personnel, a decent and clean room, and a fine breakfast-although without espresso!

We were thoroughly satisfied with our stay at the B&B Casa di Amy. We have no idea why other travelers haven't been as happy as we were. Yes, the area is not "perfect", but it is not dangerous and is only two blocks from the metro and train station. Additionally, there is a slew of spicy Mediterranean food to choose from, just steps from the front door of Casa di Amy, should one wish to deviate from the normal Roman cuisine . This is to say nothing about the spectacular service and friendly help we received from the owners and their employees. We will recommend this establishment to any and all of our friends, and we will most certainly stay there again when we return to Rome in the future.

Was delighted find a clean, comfortable and modern room. Was concerned that I faced the main street but had no problem with noise. Very convenient location for train and bus access. Good selection of breakfast items and, while I love cappuccino, I really enjoyed having a "real" cup of coffee with breakfast. (Only criticism: Breakfast should be made available at 7:30 a.m. for those of us who prefer getting an early start to the day.) Friendly and helpful staff. Free internet available in reception office. Great value for the price. Highly recommend.

Absolutely the best place I've stayed in Rome so far! I stayed in a single room which had a double bed and an en suite, tv and fridge, and air conditioning - very appreciated as it was the month of July and it was roasting! The staff were very helpful, as I was going on a tour one of the mornings, I told them that I wouldn't be there for breakfast and they offered to have breakfast put in my room the night before as it all could be refrigerated which was very helpful. The location, less than a two minute walk from the Termini which was very important as I was traveling by myself. Surrounding areas were perfectly fine and I usually came home most evenings by 11pm and never had or saw any trouble. It was great value for money. The room was cleaned every day and I cannot praise this place enough! Also, the restaurant straight across the road - amazing!!

Great place, people were very accommodating. The room made me feel like a Roman instead of a tourist - more like an apartment than a hotel.

This was our first trip to Europe. Our daughter urged us to see Rome. Her advice was perfect. We were amazed at the beauty and antiquity that we encountered at every turn. You can't go 20 steps in Rome without encountering something of awe inspiring beauty. We were first attracted to La Casa di Amy by the name (our daughters name is Amy). As we researched further we thought that this property was everything we were looking for. We were not disapointed. It is intimate and family operated. Our room was clean, comfortable and had a private bath. The breakfast prepared by Maria was beyond our expectations, varied, nutritous and beautifully presented meal each morning. The service was exceptional. Lilla (the co-ownner or La Casa di Amy) accompanied us to the pharmacy and assisted our communicating with a pharmicist when we required a medication and had drug allergies that needed to be understood. This was just one of several instances in which she went out of her way to make our visit to Rome enjoyable and trouble free.

Unlike reviews that I read before booking this B&B it was very easy to find. A sign has been erected above the shop. We were made to feel very welcome. Maria who stays at the B&B was very helpfull and always willing to go the extra mile. Breakfast was the best we had in Italy. All in all a very enjoyable stay. We will go back there any day.

The breakfast was, as written on the homepage, middle european standard (not italian) and very great. The employee helped us to find a good value restaurant. When we return to Rome we will ask for La Casa di AMY. A room about 100m away from the central station can't be very quiet. Rome is a metropolis, it will never be cheap.

My friend and I stayed two nights and I would certainly recommend staying at La Casa Di Amy, it was value for money and the rooms were very clean. Booking a single I was given a double bedroom with on suite shower room. For breakfast you could choose from cereal, yoghurt, cheese, meat, coissants, there was bread for sandwich or toast and a platter of vegetables plus other things I can't remember at the moment and to drink coffee/apple juice/milk. As mentioned in previous comments you book in at the shop which is just underneath the rooms, there is a sign so you really can't miss it although it does close between 1.30 pm and 4 pm and is not open on a Sunday. You are minutes from the Termini railway station and just outside that is the bus terminus, the tour buses also stop opposite the Termini and even the coaches back to the airport stop there too, so the location was good. I can't speak Italian and unfortunately the lady who looks after the rooms doesn't speak English but it wasn't a major problem. Also in my room was an alarm clock (although my friend didn't have one in her room) t.v., fridge, towels, small welcome pack with small soap etc and there was a hairdryer. I would certainly go back.

Friendly owners including helpful Jose @ front desk. I requested a double room with 2 single beds but given 1 double bed. Jose requested 2 single beds for 2nd nite but request was ignored, thanks for trying Jose! Would be nice if breakfast starts at 7 rather than 8 am. Thanks for the person who brewed coffee on our day of departure as we had to catch an early flight but we did not have time to enjoy it. Great location near bus terminal and Termini station, tight security inside station.

The manager, who was raised in the US and spoke excellent English, was exceptionally nice and let us use a computer in the reception area to retrieve e-mail. Breakfast was plentiful and served in our room on the day we had to leave early to tour the Vatican. The hotel was only a few blocks from the train and main subway stations. My husband and I heartily recommend this hotel/apartment.

La casa di Amy was a very nice BandB. It is about a 5 minute walk from the train station which is important if you're hauling luggage as we were. My wife and I stayed there 3 nights and have no complaints other than there is some traffic noise at night, nothing untolerable though. Maria, whom we dealt with most of the time, was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good, had a nice variety. Most of the common tourist attractions are probably in the 20 to 30 minute walking range from the hotel. There are many things of interest to see and stumble upon accidently while walking Rome though that walking is what we preferred to do. La casa di Amy was a very nice place overall and we would stay there again.

When I got that right, "La Casa di Amy" has rooms in 4 different buildings. The room I got was one of 4 rooms (+ breakfastroom) the hotel has in flat of a dignified old appartment building. It was an absolutely quiet, secure and cosy place, a perfect background for a very pleasant and inspiring 4-days visit to Rome. Although I had not so much contact to the staff, I found the people very friendly and helpful and I have no doubt, the staff would have given me any support if I needed it. Invaluable, Thanks!

Everything was excellent and people very welcoming and kind. The only problem is to find the place. One does not think about looking at a jewellery store to find a B&B... But this only minor inconvenience.

Excellent accommocations... many complaints about "hard to find" would be explained in that there IS NO OFFICE! Lilla operates out of the Watch store at the address given. The couple who operates this series of rooms operates out of that office, and the only indication of affiliation with "La Casa di Amy" is a single 8.5 by 11 piece of paper taped to the front door! But if they know when you are coming, you'll be ok! This is an excellent deal, but they have about 20 rooms at several locations, all within 2-5 blocks of the Roma Termini rail station. We stayed twice, in two different complexes, and both were excellent, both had excellent breakfast choices, both times all were MOST accomodating. I would recommend it to anybody!

We enjoyed our stay at La Casa di Amy in December 2007 very much - the room, bed, breakfast meals, cleanliness, and service exceeded our expectations. I recommend it in the absolute highest terms. Finding it was easy - it's only a couple of short blocks from the Termini main train station, very convenient, no problem rolling luggage along the sidewalks - which made touring Rome much easier. The Metro subway lines intersect at Termini, so we could reach anyplace in Rome within minutes. We never took a taxi directly back to the B&B, even late at night, but felt very safe and walked from Termini station - there was always foot traffic on the street, and the police were out in force. The room had a small refrigerator, and we often stopped at the small grocery store in the Termini station for food so we could have some meals in our room. The fruit, olives, etc. were so fresh - fantastic and better than 99% of most restaurants. The room was comfortable, and the bathroom was absolutely, perfectly clean (small but adequate) with a small but very nice shower - this was of paramount importance to my fiance, she's very picky, and she was not disappointed. She was so happy when she saw the nice bathroom that it set the tone for the rest of our stay in Rome! (She'll go anywhere if she can get a hot shower and good bed at night). We let the B&B know when we were arriving and were met on the street by someone from the B&B (it is run out of the small jewelry shop next to the entrance door). The breakfast meals were great - the selection of meat and other food items varied daily, and the coffee and oatmeal were great. One morning, we overslept and the cook tapped on our door so we wouldn't miss out - molte grazie! Occasionally, I was able to connect into an unsecured Wi-Fi, but otherwise, many internet cafes are located within one block. We felt well cared for, safe, warm, and happy. This would be our first choice on a return visit to Rome. This B&B gets FIVE stars (o

Very good experience. The place was refurnished summer 2007 so everything was in a perfect state and very, very clean. Don't expect a luxury hotel, but the rooms and bed were of good quality and size, and that's the most important. It's a 5 minutes walk from the Termini station and half an hour from the Colloseum.

We found La Casa di Amy to be a clean, quiet and comfortable B&B. The bed was probably the best of the five we experienced in Italy and there were also two comfortable chairs in the room. The breakfasts were very good and slightly different each day. The staff were very accommodating: for example, although we had to leave at 5:30 AM on our last day, we awoke to find a breakfast laid out for us. Although the Termini neighbourhood may not be Rome's most fashionable, it is very convenient not only for train connections but also bus, metro, tours, etc. and a number of sites are within walking distance. La Casa di Amy met our needs very well.

Sehr angenehmes B&B.

Very convenient location although a bit hard to find without a sign outside. It was only 2 short blocks from train station. Our room was very new and very clean with a very small shower. A downside for us was that we had a room facing the street which was extremely noisy at night. On top of that we were awoken daily by staff either letting us know breakfast was ready/ housekeeping/ and even the owner one day to let us know that they did not accept Amex. That being said our sleep was not so great. I would reccomend requesting a room facing the courtyard. Breakfast consisted of cereals, toast/rolls, cheese, and sometype of deli meat and coffee. All in all this is a fine b&b if you need a clean place to try to sleep. The owners are very nice. Very good value for the money in Rome.

My wife was very concerned about the safety of location of the B&B near the Termini but chose it for convenience of public transportation. She was pleasantly surprised! The location was extremely convenient within easy walking distance of the Termini and connections with the Metro and busses. The neighborhood had several restaurants and seemed safe. Lila, the proprietor, and Maria, met us upon our arrival and escorted us to our accomodations(located in a different building a half block away from the address on the web site). Our rooms were spacious, clean and air conditioned! The only negative aspect was noise when the trash dumpsters across the street from our rooms were emptied every morning at 0600. There was no staff on duty at our location so we were given keys to the building, the apartment as well as our rooms. Also, Lila's phone number, but there was no phone available in the apartment. Maria arrived every morning to prepare a beautiful breakfast and did an excellent job of cleaning our rooms. All staff members were extremely pleasant and helpful. I have recommended this B&B to my friends and would definitely stay there again.

Cute little B&B, location was great, it was extremely close to the metro. Since I had a really early flight it was perfect for me. My room was very good size and nicely decorated. I didn't expect a B&B to have its only monographic toiletries so it was a pleasant surprise. You can tell that they put in effort to make the place professional. The staffs were friendly and welcoming. They even offered me breakfast at 6:30am due to my early flight (although the staff seemed to have forgotten about it the next morning), but it was nice of them to have even offered at the first place. If I ever return to Rome I would rent from them again.

We booked Casa di Amy because it was near the Termini and close to all the sights. We were not disappointed. Okay the area is not the best in Rome but for us it was ideal. A short walk to the bus station where numerous buses took us in any direction we wanted. After being dropped off from the airport in Via Marsala by Terravision we were only a very short walk to the B&B. Breakfast was amazing with cooked meats, cheeses, salad, fruit, cereals, toast, yoghurt, rolls and copious amounts of various teas and coffee. Our room and shower room was spotless and the bed was Oh so comfortable. Lilla and Claudia were extremely helpful and courteous. We loved Rome and the B&B. Would definitely stay there again. As a group of 5 young adults, this was a perfect balance between luxury and adventure. Essentially a large multiple room house, each couple booked their own room, while the 5th had her own. The doors are somewhat thin, so in the unlikely event the other renters are on the boisterous side, it might be an issue. However, during our stay, there were three waves of different guests (all from different countries, I should add), all of which were very considerate and seemingly knowledgeable with B & B etiquette. You should have no noise problems from other guests. If you get a room overlooking the courtyard, you will hear people's conversations from neighboring bldgs. The layout essentially creates a huge speakerbox, so even the most muted of whispers can be heard. Try to book a room overlooking the street. Better view. A few posts indicated some disappointment over the breakfast. One should note that their set up is generous by European standards, whose idea of breakfast is generally (1) croissant and (1) cup of coffee OR tea (but not both). A nice spread consisting of salami, proscuitto, fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzerella, fresh fruit, cereal, coffee, etc was defintely a great way to start off the day. The pix on their site accurately depicts their offerings. The staff was very accomodating, friendly, and helpful. Some past posts have commented on their lack of English skills, but we had zero issues. As long as you keep the sentences short, to the point, and nix the million-dollar words, you should be fine. Plus, I studied up on my Italian, so that helped, too. If for nothing else, the natives appreciate the effort. In summary, if you are looking for a local-flavored, no-frills, conveniently-located place to stay, this is it.

The location could put the timid traveller off, but it proved to be very convenient for exploring Rome, with a variety of good resturants nearby. Claudia was always helpful and although our room was small, she offered us a larger room for the rest of our stay which we declined. For British travellers there was a kettle, fridge and tea bags in the rooms. The breakfast was substantial including toast and tea, fresh fruit, cereals and the usual continental foods. Overall a good stay for our 3 days.

My fiancee and I generally enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and fairly spacious, with a very nice bathroom. Breakfast was unremarkable, but certainly not bad. The only problem was the fact that we were told that we could pay by credit card whenever we wanted to, but when we needed to leave at 8 am to catch a train to the airport, we learned that the credit card machine isn't available until 9:30. This necessitated a mad rush around the neighborhood in search of an ATM, as the one I was directed to was out of service. With this one caution in mind (as well as the warning that the woman we dealt with, although very friendly, spoke no English), we would recommend this as a good place to stay near Termini.

The room is nicely furnished, with air-conditioner which is important for the hot weather here. There's a balcony facing the street, though the street's quite quiet at night. It's just two blocks away from the train station / metro station so it's very convenient to travel between most attractions. The breakfast is also very good with cereals, breads, yogurt and drinks. Only improvement I'd recommend is to make available an electric water boiler in the room.
