Loredana and her daughters were excellent hosts. Even when we arrived in the middle of the night (past midnight), she was there to meet us at the door, ready to help us with our bags - better service than some of the 3star hotels we stayed in other parts of Italy.

We stayed in at Maryelen's B&B for two nights in July 2008. The rooms were clean, but the bathroom was very small. The room had the bare minimum, the bed, night stand, desk and closet. It did not have the safe like advertised. The one thing we were skeptical of was when Lordana asked to keep our passports. We thought she would take just to make a copy and return them immediately that day. It took until the following evening to get in touch with her to get the passports back, which in the end we had them returned safe and sound. However it was a very daunting experience. A nice guest at the B&B told us that we never had to give up our passports, so now we know!

Our first trp to Rome. Made very welcome by Loredana's daughter, and met Loredana next morning to recieve the same treatment. Both ladies were very helpful.Room was very quiet and comfortable.Very convenient location to Termini, an easy 5 minute walk.Good breakfast in breakfast room, which could have been a bit bigger, but adequate. We would recommend the Maryelen, and would definitely stay there again.

Marlelen, owner and operator was very nice and very helpful. Unfortunately the AC, which was controlled by the buiding, was never cool enough so we had to open the windows. Opening the windows let in all of the noice in Rome. The location is perfect because you are a few blocks from the Termini (Bus, Train, Subway, Shopping, dining), About 2 or 3 miles from the Colosium, and centrally located to everything Rome. By the way, Maryelen makes an awesome Capuccino.

Welcome was warm and familiar, the adress next termini station for traveling with train and sightseeing perfect. The rooms are clean and comfortable, some baths very small, and the breakfastroom nearly tiny. The breakfast is not excellent but really OK. Loredana ist 24 a day reachable and helped us much in any belonging. We'll come back to Rome and to Maryelen.

The owner Loredana was extremely welcoming and passionate. Everything was fine expect the dining room was too small. There were only 3 tables and I guessed there were more than 8 rooms in the B&B. Maybe you have to wait for a while when eating breakfast.

hostess and family exceedingly welcoming, breakfast continental, very nice, coffee/cappuchinos delicious, maryelen very near to train/bus terminus. central location, within walking distance to sights. the 40 express bus takes you to the vatican for 1 euro from outside the train station, tickets from any tabbachi shop. overall, a very lovely stay at the maryelen and would recommend it without hesitation.

The location was excellent, great transport connections and only 10min from any historical landmark. Loredana and her daughters were incredibly helpful and welcoming. I never experienced such hospitality even at 5 star hotels. We felt as though we were staying with family. The room was great; clean, quiet and it even had a mini fridge. This is definitely where I am staying next time I am in Rome.

Loved our stay. We were a group of 6. We had 3 very nice rooms close together on the seccond floor. Very clean, good shower, airconditioning (although not needed in Februari) fridge and television. We had rooms at the front of the property and were surprised that it was so quiet at night (maybe because it was februari?). We had e-mail contact with Loredana prior to our stay. She sent us a good description of the route to the property, which is only 5 to 10 minutes walk from Termini station. We were welcomed by her daughter who showed us the rooms and provided us with maps of rome. Breakfast was served in a tiny breakfast room on the fifth floor and was good. There were croissants filled with cream, fresh toast, jams, cheese, yoghurt, (orange)juice end very good coffee in multiple varieties and thee. The last morning we had to leave very early and a breakfastbag was made for us to take with us because we had to miss breakfast. Loredana and her family made our stay in Rome very special and a lot of fun. Although we stayed only for three nights, she tried to remember our names. We are hoping to return to this B&B it exceeded our expectation.

This is NOT a B&B, this is a HOTEL. No space sharing with the owners who don't live in the same building, no exchange on everyday life, no personal involvement, employees for service. The room was ok, but the bathroom was a cupboard, ridiculously small compared to the size of the bedroom, + bad smell from the toilets. The breakfast, except the croissant, was 100% industrial. Nothing to compare with a family B&B. This place should be called "hotel". All over the world, a B&B is where the guests share the same house that the owners.

Loredana was very welcoming and provided us with a map and information about the city and how to travel to the locations. The rooms were clean and comfortable- no 5 star ,but then, in Rome, you are going to spend very little time in your room so it was no big deal- they were warm and bathrooms clean and linen changed daily. The location of Maryelen B&B is fantastic- you can walk to the Coloseum in 15mins and the termini station is only a 3 minute walk which will bring you anywhere on the metro in less than 5 minutes. Overall I would rate our stay as excellent value for money and all we had expected with a very welcoming atmosphere.

The proprietor and her daughters are lovely and friendly but the walls between the rooms are very thin. Your sleep depends entirely on who is in the next room and how noisy they are. The noise from the street was minimal considering the proximity to the train station. The folks in the next room to mine had the TV blasting from 6AM til late at night. They were very loud talkers and it felt they were in the room with me. No sleep for 3 nights. Banging on the wall helped a little. Complaint to staff didn't help. I had a double room which would be a tight fit for 2 people. Everything was very clean and orderly. Also, the same type of creme pastries were served for breakfast every day.

The location is accessible to the terminal, which is very important to getting around. It was very hard to find the place; as there are so many places on that street. The staff was nice, but I believe it was over-priced.... It was VERY noisy (all night)

Our stay with Maryelen exceeded all expectations. The room was of an extremely high standard in all respects and was beautifully clean and prepared for our stay. The location is perfectly situated for easy access from the Railway Station and also to explore the sites. This establishment is a credit to Maryelen and also to Rome. Thank you so much for all your effort and kindness.

I was travelling with a small group. We were entering and leaving Rome via Termini train station and wished to find a comfortable quiet location near the station for a few nights. We found Maryelen to be perfect place for us. It is better than described. It is only 5 minutes walk with suitcase from the station in a quiet side road. You enter the hotel through a courtyard, whose door to the road is locked at night (you have a key). There is a lift to your floor. The front door to the floor is also locked. This opens onto a small landing, with doors to rooms off this. Our room had two beds that could be combined or separated. There was a cupboard with sufficient hanging space. There was a good sized dressing table, but a lack of drawer space. The room had been recently decorated and was immaculately clean. There was a small but beautiflly presented tiled en-suite bathroom, with shower sink and toilet. Breakfast was continental, with cereals, juices, bread/toast/buns/jams, and copious real coffee. We were very happy with the service and standard that was provided by the hotel, and excellent value for money. Additionally the proprietor Loredana had been very helpful for us to obtain a booking at the Galleria Borghese when the website was down. We would most strongly recommend this hotel, and would stay here should we visit Rome again.

The room was very clean, though the bath a little small-but no matter - plenty of towels and HOT water :-)... Loredana was a great hostess and very helpfu, even giving us a bit to eat for our ery early train ride to the airport since we wouldn't be their for breakfast in the morning. The hotel is close to the main termini and great if you're training in and out of Rome, or need to get to the airport via train.. but with that comes a bit of noise, but nothing that causes you not to sleep - since we were on the top floor (with a little balcony and double doors out) and out of the bustle of most of it. Great little restaurant across the steet - good service and good English. There is a small elevator to the 5th floor. Would stay here again - especially for the money!

Loredana is a gracious, helpful host. Speaks English fairly well. Breakfast in a comfortable, cozy atmosphere and very adequate. Rome is a wondrous place and do not expect to 'sleep in' anywhere in Rome. Churchbells will be your alarm clock early on to start your day (part of the Italian culture) so you will get moving and not waste the daylight for seeing the sights. Maryelen is within easy walking distance to Termini where the Metro (subway-beware of pickpockets) can be taken. Also a nice healthy walk to many other historic sites. To enjoy Rome you must walk It's streets. (NOTE: DO NOT DRIVE IN ROME if you do not have to. Many one way streets and curving alley ways mean you can EASILY get lost and getting driving directions from bystanders is 'iffy' at best. Walking is great with a tourist map, not dangerous, and not effected by one way streets, and Metro locations can be accessed if needed.) Expect to do alot of walking, bring two comfortable pairs of shoes/sneakers (alternate shoes/sneakers worn every other day). Give a bare minimum of three full days in Rome, more if possible, to get the flavor. Typically in Italy, bathrooms (showers even smaller) are small but very workable at Maryelen. Late September has cool comfortable nites and not alot of mosquitos. So no window screens is not a major problem. However in the mid summer may be a different situation. Maryelen accepts only cash. Cash is best exchanged at a bank. Bank of ROMA and Bank of TUSCANY gave best rates with only a small 3 to 5 Euro service charge. No other mark up or service % charge. Airport and train station exchange places will rip you off. Exchange currency at a bank. Overall a very nice stay at Maryelen with a very nice host. I would stay there again and recommend it.

We would definitely use this bed and breakfast again and would recommend it to friends. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful with lots of useful advice. The rooms are clean and a good size. The breakfast room can become a little crowded, but to us that just made it even more quaint. Because it is located in a large apartment block you feel like you are living with the Italians. We loved it.

It is close to the train station, the address is easy to be found. But the same address has many different hotels, there is a ring button in a panel at the right side of front gate with "Maryelen" on it, use it to ask person in hotel to lead you. Lorodana is very nice. The room I stayed is new, it has air conditioning and LCD TV, and it is very clean. General speaking, I'm very satisfied with Maryelen.

Loredana was a nice welcome for us. She was bubbly and even recommended a place for dinner (across the street)where we were also treated very well. Our room was large, clean, beautiful and better than the pictures on the website. For our last night in Italy, we could not have asked for a better place so close to the train station. Other places are closer to the primary tourist areas, but for an earlt flight from Leonardo da Vinci Airport, you can get out of town very efficiently. We would stay again. A great value.

We really enjoyed our stay and would consider going back to Maryelen when visiting Rome again.
