When we arrived there wasn't room, despite we had booked it in advance, so they provided a room in another near hotel for one night. The breakfeast could be better: I'd suggest a electric oven to bake fresh "cornetti". As our room was next door to kitchen, I woke up with cutlery noises... That could be improved. But people are very kind and friendly. The "mama" is a great person, the girls are lovely and clever. They speak very good English and German as well.

One flat on one floor in a building modified to a hotel, appr. 6-8 rooms, breakfast served in the hotel room due to lack of space for restaurant, but no table except the bureau to place the tray on... Otherwise everything OK since you visit Rome and just stay in your room very little for a night or two. Walking distance to all facilities. Not expensive = value for money!

The location was excellent, the major attractions of Rome were all within walking distance. The rooms were spacious, quiet and clean. Restaurants down the same street and colluseum, trevi fountain all within ten minutes walk I would recommend anyone who is in Rome as a long weekend seeing the sights to stay here, excellent value for money for the location.

very good quality for the price, nice location, the only downside was that some of the staff weren't as helpful as I would have expected... Another minus was the breakfast, but I've noticed that this is something tipical in Italy, so I wouldn't see that as a minus of the hotel. Other than these two points, a definite yes for those that want a clean, comfortable and not too expensive place to stay in Rome

We were mistakenly put in a smaller than reserved room for the first night of a two night stay. It was really tiny. But they realized their mistake and changed our room the next morning, plus discounted the difference in room price. An honest mistake - we arrived at 1am and everyone was probably too tired to notice the wrong room.

Location is everything with this place. I walked to absolutely everywhere. It is really close to the train station and you can walk to and from there (no taxi needed!) The room was microscopic and the price was so-so. Shower curtain was mildewed a bit. I would stay here again and would recommend it.

Our stay at Soggiorno Comfort was very satisfying. The service was great, the rooms quiet and clean, and the location absolutely fantastic! Being served the breakfast in the room was useful (as i was sick and lying in bed) and fun, even though there was not much to chose from. The one problem we had, which was actually quite serious, was that the air conditioning in our room (number 6) barely worked. This was actually quite bad, since it was fairly cold outside, and our air conditioner refused to work properly! The receptionists tried to help, but couldn't really (we figured out, with the help of one, how it does work.. only after 15minsor so it would stop again!). Sadly, this is the one thing which makes me rate my stay 4/5 and not 5/5.. Fix the damn a/c and get all 5 stars! Still, i would definitely recommend the hotel!

Good = Great location. 10 minutes from Trevi fountain, 15 from Coliseo. Overall cleanliness. Bathroom curtain not the best, but suitable overall. Room. Not huge by any standards, but suitable for sleeping after a long day exploring Rome. Poor = Shower water pressure. Almost non existant. Very tough to shower when water trickling out. Breakfast. A simple pastry and drink, but not what you may expect from a "B&B." Very questionable = Had typed note in room stating credit card machine broken "and cannot be repaired for days" and please pay in cash. Not a major item, but if you prefer paying by credit card, this may be an issue. I related it to bypassing taxes? We would stay there again because of the location and overall cleanliness. Not a huge recommendation, but if you're OK with simple, this is a good place.

I would recommend Soggiorno Comfort to anyone visiting Rome! The location was perfect for sightseeing and the staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms were nice and clean. The only thing I would mention is that the establishment is a flat within a multi unit building, so upon entering you would have to either take the elevator or stairs up a few floors - just keep that in mind when you walk in to a nondescript lobby and wonder where the hotel is. They also had free Internet access available to the guests. Again, great establishment and I highly recommend it!

The hotel is well located near the historic areas. Once we checked in we got the immediate information to get around Rome plus a map that we used through our stay. Service was good and staff was very nice. The room with a bathroom and a bar was ok as we had seen in the pictures. Room was quite. I got permission to use the computer connected to the internet in order to check my mail which was very nice. Arriving from Termini station you can get a taxi for 11 Euro (10 Minutes drive) to the hotel if you wait in the taxi line. Cons: The price that was very high 132 ERO but that was the cheapest that I found with this central location. The second con is that property had no dining room so we had to eat in our room which was very uncomfortable. Bottom line, if you are looking for a hotel in a central location and the price is ok than it is defiantly recommended.

We stayed two nights. The first night we had a really small room with a double bed for 2. The room was maybe 100 square feet including the bathroom. But the staff did tell us that they will move us to a triple room the next day (and they did move everything for us while we were out touring). The triple room and its bathroom were like 3 times bigger than the first double room, so it was much more spacious and comfortable. We asked for a discount for the first night, and got 15 euro off from the bill. The staff were helpful and courteous. They arranged for a taxi to take us to the airport 4:30AM and offered wake-up call!

We were in Italy for 11 days (Rome twice, Florence, Venice, and Monterosso) and stayed in Soggiorno Comfort during out second time in Rome, which consisted of the last two days of our trip. Soggiorno was definitely the best deal for our money during our whole stay in Italy. The rooms were clean, adequate, and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was delivered to the room each morning at the exact time we requested. We would definitely recommend Soggiorno Comfort to anyone and will stay there again without hesitation.

The name to this hotel certainly describes our accommodations, "comfortable!" My wife and I visited Rome during the end of September. The weather was extremely comfortable during this time of year. As for the B&B, it is just a short 10-15 minute walk from the terminal. In our opinion, the location of the B&B is centrally located to ALL of the sites of Rome. Public transportation, banks, currency exchanges, restaurants, and small shops are just a couple streets away, ALL, again within walking distance. Upon reading some of the reviews to this B&B, some of the points were right on. For instance, when you arrive, the elevator for instance, is extremely small. It can probably accommodate a couple people and just a FEW bags of small luggage. Otherwise, you have to walk up about three flights of stairs to get to the entrance of the B&B. Personnel was extremely friendly. Unfortunately, none of them spoke English. My wife speaks Spanish and that was sort of a saving grace. Italian and Spanish are somewhat similar, so their conversations were sort of understanding. There are also a couple Spanish speaking employees, but again, English is out of the question. Now to the rooms. Unlike American accommodations, the rooms are sort of small. For two people, I though it was comfortable; the private bathroom is also comfortable. The t.v. is sort of small, and I didn't find many English speaking channels. There are no clocks in the room either; but as for wake up calls, the staff at the B&B will inquire as to your breakfast time, and will personnally wake you up with a welcoming tray of breakfast pastries and coffee. Now, let's be real about this, if you're vacationing, how much time are you really going to spend in the room. If you're like me and my wife, you'll only come back to sleep and shower, then get up early to take in the sites all day. So in this perspective, I thought the accommadations were excellent. The price of the room, I thought was reasonable.

This place, although close to everything (10-15 minute walk to many sights) was in a bit of a funky neighborhood, which in the long run, was fine. The place is a little strange when you first arrive and you think you made a terrible mistake, but for a short visit, in the end, it turns out to be a very sweet, well run little B & B for a low price. (90 euros)

The only negative thing I have to say is they need to replace the showerhead in room 2. Other than that, all was excellent. There is no room really to store luggage after checkout though. An improvement they could make is to give a food selection in the morning. All that is offered is croissants and dried toast with jam. The beverage selection is good and they deliver breakfast to you each day. They also allow you to use their computer for email. Their drains worked very well (hard to find in Italy). I would definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed a four night stay in this hotel in Rome. The room was clean, not overly spacious but the bed was firm and comfortable. Despite overlooking the street is was reasonably quiet apart from when the staff where preparing breakfast in the adjoining room. The breakfast itself was adequate and was served in the room. The hotel is well located being a comfortable walk to the station and most of the major attractions in central Rome.

My husband and I stayed at the Soggiorno Comfort this July. It was very hot, so we were pleased that they accomodated our request for an air conditioned room at the price quoted to us on venere.com (i.e., no extra charges). Our room (#1), was very quiet, as the windows faced an alley. We loved the location - it was close to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Train Station and much more. We would definitely stay there again.

Excellent location for all the major attractions of Rome and very clean. The only drawback is that, for the price, they could at least have tea / coffee making facilities in the room. We arrived at 11pm to be told that a cup of tea was not possible (even though the kitchen was only feet away). This was our only gripe with what proved to be an excellent base for our travels. We will certainly book here again if we return to Rome (but maybe we'll bring our own kettle).

Our stay at Soggiorno Comfort was very nice. The staff was excellent. They were very informative, spoke English, were always on time with breakfast, and answered all our questions. The location in Rome is very good. The neighborhood is very nice and very safe. We certainly felt safe when going out at night. The facilities were spaceous and clean. All items in the bathroom worked well including the hot water, water pressure, and shower. If we ever go back to Rome, we will certainly stay at this location. By the way, the location is very central to all the sights in Rome or a subway station is very close if you don't want to walk.

Breakfast is bad (really bad coffee and croissants, they shouldn't provide it if they're not up to it; a voucher with a cafe nearby would be better). The rooms aren't clean perfect, specially the toilet... really disapointed on that last matter... some fresh paint should be put under the windows in the rooms... and we froze during the nights! On the good sides (there are some), the owner is really sympathetic and helpfull, but we did only saw her the first of our five days there. I'm not sure she was aware of my critics, and perhaps all the problems exposed here will be fixed in a near future if she answers them.

This property is really well located -- easy walk to the Colosseum and the other way to the Trevi Fountain, for example. I think it is great value, although the room we were in was a little tight for two adults and an 11-year old. One afternoon concierge made two significant errors (an airport pick-up date and telling us they take amex, which they don't, causing me a late night money panic). However, the other concierges were wonderful. Our slow shower drain was fixed as soon as we asked, and the recommended restaurants were exactly what we needed. I would like more variety in the breakfasts (always the same bad croissant -- change supplier?).

The triple room we ordered turned out to be a small double bed room with a cot put a the foot of the bed and absolutely no floor space. When I said that this was totally unappropriate, we were offered another, much larger room for the following day. The staff was polite and pleasant but far from what I would call friendly or helpful. The "free" internet, I was told could only be used for 5 minutes and yet the staff seemed to be sitting playing on it all day and night.

Although not the fault of the staff, we found our accomodations not specific to our request. We were 4 adults (2 couples) and had confirmed a Quad . Our stay at the Soggiorno was very gratifying. The staff was very helpful and very accommodating. They all spoke English, which is always helpful when you are in a foreign country. The Soggiorno is location gave us easy access to bus and train, if needed to be travelled on. It's location was within walking distance to a lot of the sites which we wanted to visit. Being so close to Via Nacionale was an advantage for shopping and restaurant hopping. I rate the Soggiorno as Excellent for a place to stay. The only thing my husband and I were not happy with was the smoking in the lobby. Since the rooms are not that far away from the lobby (even though there was a door, which was kept closed most of the times) you can still smell the cigarette smoke.

A true surprise! It was beautifully decorated, very up to date, and the owner was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend

The staff were very friendly and accomodating and the rooms were comfortable and clean. Also, the neighborhood was pretty quiet. In general, I would suggest knowing some words in Italian. While the staff was very helpful, it definitely makes things easier.

Good central location 15 min walk from Termini 15 min from city centre. Our room looked onto street and was very noisy at times. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Would go back and stay. Trek up a few flights of stairs if lift is not operational

It was very nice to stay in a great location and have a 24 hour door man. I also enjoyied the breakfast delivered to our room every morning at the time decided the night before. The stay at the Soggiorno Comfort was an amazing value and I would say better than most hotels in Rome that are double the price. Everyone should enjoy this kind of service while in Rome.

Location was perfect, but the room was right by the lobby and somewhat loud.

I stayed at the Soggiorno Comfort in 11/03. Our room was very clean, modern, and spacious. The maid service was excellent. The staff was friendly, although some seemed not too knowledgeable. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast -- we got a ticket at the reception desk and then had to take the ticket to a little bar down the street where we got a pastry and coffee. The food was fine, but it was inconvenient to have to leave the hotel for breakfast (it is advertised, I believe, as a bed AND breakfast). It's in a good location in Rome, and easy to get to from the train station.

Location is everything and this property was ideal for access to most of the sights and the railway station. A minor inconvenience was a problem with the television (satelite) so we only had Italian TV while we were there but for the price - recommended!

A nice family-run business. Quite hard to find the hotel to start with, could be signed a little better. Close walk to shops, restaurants and the Colloseum (spelling?!). Overall a nice stay. However, could have been better if construction next door wasn't happening! I would reccommend this Hotel.

There is only one weakness point to mention. In the website of soggiorno comfort credit cards are announced to be welcome, in reality they try to refuse payments with credit cards by untrustworthy arguments.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is quite convenient. The elevator was out of order and renovation was in progress in the ground floor lobby during our stay. The environment must be better if the works are done.

The property is in a great location - within easy walking distance of Termini Station and attractions such as The Forum, Vittorio Emanuel Monument and Colosseum, etc. The staff are friendly, welcoming and multilingual and seemed genuinely concerned with making our six night stay comfortable. Thankfully, the building has an elevator as the guest rooms are located on the third floor - although, it wasn't always working. I would definitely recommend the property to others and would absolutely stay here again. The only negative comment has to do with the fact we were required to pay for the room entirely by cash only, but were not told this until the evening before check-out. It was explained that their credit card machine was not functioning and had not been functioning for a couple of weeks. They should've told us this when we checked in as we could've made arrangements to have the cash ready instead of having to find a bank machine with appropriate access on the last night in Rome.

Basic pensione type accomodations. Clean room and bathroom, where the water temp in the shower was hot and hotter. Located on a quiet street off of Via Nazionale. The location was decent-probably a 15 minute walk from the train station and to many of the sites in the city center. The building in which Soggiorno Comfort was located was undergoing renovations, so you had to walk through a very dusty construction zone to get to it.

This is a very small hotel, only five rooms. However, it is nicely decorated with prints and bas-reliefs on the walls. The rooms and bathrooms look fresh and new. There is plenty of hot water. The TV has cable news in just about any language you might want. For those of you who have stayed at the Caravaggio, this hotel is on the same street but a couple of blocks farther from Stazione Termini. (The reason the Caravaggio is not listed on Venere right now, mid-2003, is that it's under renovation.) FOR THOSE OF YOU WITH HEAVY SUITCASES: The elevator stops between floors and you have to go up or down a flight of steps with your luggage. I stayed only one night so didn't get much of an impression, but I would stay there again. All the staff were very friendly and pleasant. :o)

This is a wonderful place run by wonderful people. They went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us. The rooms were beautiful and roomy and are in a very good location. We would definitely reccomend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome!

I would like to say how impressed we were with our stay at S.C.. The hotel layout was somewhat different than what we are use to but the actual hotel was lovely and clean. The location was excellent. The staff was incredible. Each individual was so kind and pleseant with us. We thank them very much for getting us around town with maps, bus tickets, directions, etc. . . They always had breakfast ready for us at the time indicated. We miss the staff the most. Please let them know how touched we were with them. Thank you.

Very nice, clean property that is centrally located. A simple breakfast is served in the room. The property is on the 3 floor of an apartment building that is under renovation. The property itself is newly renovated, and is excellent if you are looking for a place to sleep in a central location and not particularly interested in amenities. (there is a reception, but no other public areas.)

Fantastic location in the centre of Rome and was also very quiet. Decor in the landing/stairs requires upgrading and the Hotel would benefit from a larger sign (we walked right past it). I would recommend this hotel.

Ideal location between the train station and the city center in a quite street. Clean rooms and bathroom. Noise in room Nr1 (window street) but very quiet in the other rooms. A nice surprise for a reasonnable price in Rome. Rem : the entrance of the house looks a little dusty, but it does not reflect the hotel quality (part of the house).

Great price for a nice place to stay. Neighborhood provided a variety of excellent food options (including the trattoria next door), and was a short walk to the coloseum. Staff was friendly and unobtrusive, and let us leave our bags at the hotel for quite a few hours between checkout and the time we left for the next city. Train station was a bit farther away than indicated on maps, but still just 10-15 minute walk. Overall a very enjoyable stay and definitely the best value for our money on the entire trip.

The hotel is situated on the 2nd floor of a condominium building,to which the entrance and stairwell is more like Moscow than Rome. However, don't let first appearances put you off. The hotel itself is beautifully redecorated and refurbished. It is very clean and modern, it has airconditioning, satellite TV, safe and fridge, all you need for a comfortable stay. The welcome is warm and friendly and breakfast is served in your room at the time you requested !! The location is ideal for walking to all the main tourist sights (Forum, Coloseum,Trevi etc) and St.Peters is easily reached by bus. Via Nazionale is just next door for shopping and there are numerous good restaurants close by. We would recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone and will use it every time we come to Rome.

The rooms were very nice, especially the double/triple. Single was very small but quite functional. Bathrooms (en suite) were excellent. Employees all spoke English quite well and even indulged us as we tried our quite poor Italian. The neighborhood was fine, and we enjoyed the small food markets and local restaurants. When we first arrived our air conditioning was not working but we were assured the repair people were on their way -- not an encouraging statement, generally, but turned out to be accurate and within an hour everything was fixed. The price was excellent. Nice rooms; convenient location; does have a lift (that, for some reason, stops in between floors); helpful staff; a working class neighborhood with nearby markets. The internet cafe that supposedly exists next door never did appear to be open, and seemed rather scary, but just go up to Piazza Barberini (6-8 minute walk) for a big internet cafe. And, again, the quality of the rooms is outstanding for the price.
