Fabio was really welcoming - came onto the street to look for us at the time we said we'd arrive. An ideal location for the price - 5min walk to the metro and only a few stops to the city centre. Very clean and safe and the photos were accurate. We'd definitely stay there again.

To meet the owner for the keys, he is actually located across the street from the place where you will be staying. Make sure you ring the correct door because we mixed it up and spent 30 min waiting.
Other than that, the place was quite clean and the breakfast at the cafe was nice.

Consigliatissimo.

First class accommodation.
Fabio (owner) was great. Room and bathroom were large for Europe and was very clean.
Breakfast was provided in bar/cafe just two doors away. Very friendly bar owner with limited English. Breakfast consisted of coffee, orange juice and choice of sandwich or pastry.
Area is non-touristry so you get a feel for Rome as a resident. Shops, restaurants are cheap compared with tourist parts of Rome though English isn't spoken as much.
Easy access via subway or bus. We could walk to the Collasium though it was an hour or so. Taxi to Roma Termini took about 15 mins and was about 15 euro.
Highly recommended.
Also note it is cash only.

Fabio was friendly and helpful. All the keys to stay there was funny, (6keys) but we did feel safe. Be sure to have him show you where the circuit breaker is because the lights do go out. It is very convenient to the metro station and quite a few restaurants in the area with a great icecream shop nearby that stays open late.

We had a very nice stay at Le Quattro Meraviglie (4 nights). Room and bath were not too large but clean. Fabio, our kind host picked us up at the bar where you can have breakfast (few steps from the entrance of B&B. The breakfast was coffee/tea/cappucino, croissant/tramezzini (special Italian sandwich) and orange juice. The waitresses of the bar wer also very kind.
From the B&B you can reach the metro line B (station Garbatella) by a few minutes walk and after 8-10 minutes of journey you can see the Colosseo :) Taxi rates from the City (Piazza Venezia; Via del Corso) to the B&B: EUR 11-13.

Fabio was waiting for us when we arrived, he showed us to our room and around the neighborhood. The location is central, very near to the metro station (which is fairly easy to navigate) and close to all major stops. The room was clean, quiet, and safe. A taxi ride from downtown Rome to this location will cost you 20.00 euro's. If we come through Rome again, we will definately be contacting Fabio!
Thanks Fabio!

Location was very convenient to Ostenise Rail Station and Metro. Quite diffiult to find if you are renting a car -- only because of one way streets, crazy driving (insane actually!). Fabio's directions were very good, but traffic patterns make getting around complicated. Facilities are not set up for the usual B&B Continental breakfast that we enjoyed the previous week at four other B&B's, but it was nice to have a coupon for the cafe two doors down for a coffee and breakfast sandwich. Nice to have a refrigerator in the room. Fabio very accommodating and nice to work with. I would recommend this B&B if staying in that part of Rome is necessary. We were able to walk to Trastevere (about 1 1/2 miles), a nice trendy part of town, but to other landmarks it was too far to walk.

Good quality vs price. And close to the historic center of Rome via Metro. The owner Fabio gave us the instructions to the property before we go. It is in a quiet residential neighborhood with only one decent Italian and one decent Chinese restaurants. My wife only complain is that the room doesn't have hairdryer.

A good place to saty a little out of Central Rome in a residential area so not crawling with tourists but rather locals going about their business.
The room is actually (I think) a converted appartment(s) in a big residential complex. As such can be a little noisy especially as our room was adjacent to the front door.
Host (Fabio)was very friendly and helpful

This place is a great value.
The owner is a fantastically friendly and helpful man named Fabio. We exchanged emails before our stay and he was there to meet us.
We took a train directly from Fiumicino to Ostiense station - a 10 min walk from Le 4 Meraviglie. I recommend buying a 3EUR map from the magazine store in Ostiense station. It was all we needed to find the hotel and navigate through Rome.
The room was immaculate with TV, AC and a perfect bathroom. The room is in a condo building in a neighborhood south of Rome. Our room was on the courtyard, which created some noise, but didn't bother us at all. We were exhausted from exploring.
We enjoyed the surroundings - plentiful pizza, beer and restaurants. It's an up and coming neighborhood and there is a busy street just a couple minutes away. The block itself had pizza, fruit vendors and a delightful bar/cafe/snacks. The bar is just outside the courtyard and is where you have complimentary breakfast of pastry, cofee and juice.
A 30min walk to Ancient Rome or there is a Metro stop (Ostiense) only two blocks away.
This place is incredibly clean and convenient if you're on a budget. I must also point out that Fabio (the proprietor) was the nicest man we met in our travels in Italy.
We receommend it highly for a stay in Rome.

Excellent, clean, quiet and comfortable place for those who do not need big crowd and prefer rather calm places. Not far away from Collosseum. Just a minutes from Metro B. Plus Fabio, very gentle and kind person. The room save & well equiped. Breakfasts in a nearby bar, very gentle service. We'll back there every next time. Ada & Marek

Fabio was great, very helpful. This place gives you a perspective on life in a "real" Roman suburban neighborhood. Since it is a Metro ride away from the center, I found neighborhood places for dinner. Safe area, and a good choice for a single traveler. Good value for the money.

Siamo stati bene.

New owner Fabio is excellent. Even though we were late, he was waiting for us as we turned into the street about 9pm. B&B is very close to central Rome but is in a non tourist area. It is very relaxed with friendly shops that assist you if you make a small effort with the Italian language. Breakfast at the cafe out the front is great coffee, good orange juice and a sandwich or pastry. The fridge and the safe in the room were handy. Will suit people who want quick access to Rome, casual dining locally and like to make their own lunches from the local shops.

Very nice place in a good neighbourhood near a metro station. The room is air conditioned and has a fridge. The house where the B&B is has no signs about B&B outside so it's a bit hard to find. Nobody was there to wait us and the phone number we had didn't work. An old man let us in to the staircase, but he didn't speak any English and could not help us any further. However, a very nice woman helped us by trying to call to the owner with her mobile phone and even took us to her apartment. Finally she lead us to the nearby bar where the breakfast is served and they told her the owner lives across the street. So finally the owner's wife came and gave us the key. She didn't speak much English. The owner himself came next day to collect the money. He was a very nice man and spoke good English. Don't pull the string in the bathroom! We though it starts the fan, but an alarm was started. Hopefully, there was a button at the hall where to stop the sound. We saw same kind of strings in every B&B and hotel we visited so maybe it's required by Italian law.

Very nice place to stay in Rome if you don't mind taking a few metro stops to Colosseum. The room is its best point, very clean and comfortable with bathroom inside. I didn't get to try their breakfast though. Staff is very friendly also eventhough a guy can't speak any English. But you can always get a help from Barbara, another innkeeper via her cellphone if she's not there. Very close to Ostiense station, good for ppl who will go to or come from Pisa. Recommended to everyone.

Place was a little out of the way but the metro was close and conveneient. The place was also close to grocery store and internet. Two minor problems: room wasn't cleaned one of the days and was not given a coupon for breakfast for one day either. No big deal, but would have been nice.

Personale simpatico e molto disponibile.

Our opinion is similar to those described in reviews of DiNero Anne and Delaney Meghan. We want to thank Barbara and her brother for thier welcoming (unfortunately we saw them only once at first day of our 5-day visit).
Additional tips: for those who come from da Vinci airport - there is no reason to take Leonardo Express train to Termini. You can take train FR1 (for 5 euro). 35 minute ride to Ostiense station and 10 min. walk to B&B.
Garbatella metro station is 5 min walk from B&B and it takes 7-10 minutes to reach city center.
Nice Chinese restaurant is situated near to Garbatella metro station.

Great first-floor property in a quiet, non-tourist neighborhood. We loved the local pizzeria, bar restaurant, bakery, people (practice 20 words of Italian - people were helpful, but many spoke very little English). Though very safe, area is dead after 8 pm weeknights-- if you're a night owl, stay in tourist areas to eat/party before going home to room.
Close to both Metro & train and very convenient to Fumacino. It may seem inconvenient, but only 3 metro stops to Colosseum, 15 minutes to St. Peter's.
We had a hard time climbing over large suitcases on our floor for a week (no drawers, just wardrobe) -- but if we hadn't been staying so long, the spaciousness of the room would have been fine. Very comfortable bed, good air temperature control, shower (though small) has great water pressure and plenty of hot water (DON'T pull the cord!) Small refrigerator in room is great convenience.
Be aware that there is no "reception area" or staff. This is 4 en-suite bedrooms with a central foyer area. Barbara is great -- very helpful, friendly, trusting, excellent English, etc. and she has lots of helpful friends in the area. But it is not a hotel -- the sheets are not changed every day, there is no phone, no front desk to book tours etc. If that's what you're looking for, this isn't the place for you. But that could be a hotel anywhere in the world...if you're looking for an authentic Italian experience in a safe, quiet neighborhood, this is a good value and a very comfortable property. We loved the fact that we had a place to literally call "home" in Rome.

We liked it very much at 4 Meraviglie. It is a nice and at the same time an economic place to stay in Rome. The 4 Meraviglie is located on the ground floor of an apartment house. Our room was very comfortable (air condition, small fridge), nice bath room, new furniture. For breakfast you have to go to the next bar with which 4 Meraviglie has an agreement, and you get there a very good italian capucco or whatever you like, good pastries (you don't have to pay, it's included in the price). The metro station Garbatella is about 5 minutes from the apartment. We can recommand it to everyone.

I had a really nice 4 night stay here. Barbara was really nice...and her brother was too (although he did not speak English...but that was really not a problem.) The breakfast part of the B&B is at a small little shop just next door. The staff is really great and will make you almost anything, plus their coffee is awesome! The B&B itself is nice because it is situated inside a gated apartment complex...so it was really safe (important to me as a single traveler!). Anyway, my stay there was really great and I will come back next time.

After having arrived at the 4 Meraviglie Barbara welcomed us and showed us our room, which was better than everything we had expected. The room was tastefully furnished with a small, but absolutely clean and European standard bathroom. Unfortunately one of our rucksacks got lost at the airport and when we told Barbara of this she immediately made all efforts to bring it back to us, which happened only one day later. The bed and breakfast finds itself in an area, which is, regarding the business of the city, quiet and therefor guarantees calm and relaxing sleep after days full of sight seeing. The breakfast in the morning, which is served in the adjacent bar by a very friendly man and his staff was perfect and better than some breakfasts we knew from much more expensive and calling themselves luxurous hotels. All in all we can say that the 4 Meraviglie made our trip to Rome absolutely perfect and can be recommended to anybody who likes to spend his holiday in a gorgeous city in an also wonderful bed and breakfast. The next time we will come back we will be looking forward to the 4 Meraviglie and its very helpful, friendly and very competent lady Barbara. If you read this, Barbara, we would like to say thank you again for all you did for us and hopefully all your rooms are fully booked at any time, because if anyone deserves a successful bed and breakfast, then it is you! We will definitely meet you again!

The visitor should be warned that they don't have permanent staff at the B&B. Therefore, you need to have a cell phone to call them and wait until they arrive (there are no public phones in the proximity, there is an internet and phone service store around the corner, but is not easy to find upon arrival).
In addition, there is no phone service provided at the B&B, which leaves disconnected unless you use internet or have a cell phone.
When getting back to the hotel at night, when the subway is out, may be cumbersome, not dangerous, but the walks might be long. I would recommend taking 91N from Venece Square, as it goes by the B&B at night.
Lastly, be careful when showering, as the bathrooms have no drainage outside the shower and in some rooms the water may spill onto the room and beyond...
Nevertheless, the place is nice and located close by to the Piramide.

We were welcomed by Barbara after an 8 hour flight and were quite pleased with how we were treated. The overall impression of the B and B was amazing, we were not expecting it to be so nice since the price was so affordable. The room was spotless and everything was provided for us upon checking in...the only problem we had with the room was the lack of service provided to us, at no time during our 6 day stay was the room cleaned or fresh towels provided, a small inconvenience for a great room and fair price. The location of the property was what really made our trip, only a 3 minute walk to the subway stop, 5 minutes on subway to the Colosseum, and just a little more for Termini station...The breakfast offered everyday was at a quaint little family run snack bar which served grade A capuccinos and fresh sandwiches and pastries, all u could ask for in Rome. And if you're in the mood for fresh fruit there was an amazing store just round the corner, which we took advantage of everyday, not to mention numerous cafes and even a chinese food restaurant. I was very happy with our stay and would definitely plan a return trip.
