Gregorio and his brother Antonio run a wonderful place. Because of traffic, we arrived in the middle of the night, but they were waiting up for us and were incredibly welcoming nonetheless. Also, they were very honest when I emailed them about the location of the hotel. I was concerned that it would be inaccessible without a car rental, and Gregorio sincerely suggested that based on what I wanted to do (visit Capri, Pompeii), that I should stay in a different place if I didn't have a car. Great people, and great value!

Very nice room with confortable bath and fully furnished kitchen. Very warm in winter. Beautiful view. Aboundant staff for the breakfast, capability to prepare meals. Very gentle owner, generous of information and solutions. Fantastic places. Car is needed if you want to visit the surroundings, few buses. Lot of steps to rich the center of the village. Few step from the main road to the B&B. I really suggest the structure to couples that wants quiet and relax.

Excellent B&B accomodation also with kitchen area for some self catering. Fantastic position and views but over 400 steps to centre of Ravello. Highly reccomended and excellent value for money.

Giardino dei limoni liegt wunderschön am Steilhang über dem Meer. Der Ausblick von der kleinen, aber nicht intimen Terrasse ist herrlich. Die vielen Treppen können aber älteren oder weniger fitten Gästen arge Probleme bereiten. Küche und Kühlschrank - es gibt eine Küche! - sind für das Frühstück, das man sich selbst zubereiten muss, gut bestückt. Man kann sich natürlich auch für mittags oder abends etwas kaufen - in Ravello aber gar nicht so einfach - und es sehr gut auf der Terrasse verzehren. Nicht ganz so bequem ist das Bett, das aus einer eher weichen Schlafcouch besteht. Bei schlechtem Wetter wird es mit dem Frühstück auf dem Zimmer etwas eng und ungemütlich. Da sonst keine Gäste da waren, können wir zur Hellhörigkeit der Zimmer nichts sagen. Der Eigentümer, der über den Gästeappartements wohnt, ist allerdings gut zu hören. Wer zum ersten Mal nach Ravello kommt, wird mit der Anfahrtsbeschreibung seine Probleme haben. Da sei Herrn Gallo eine präzisere Wegbeschreibung für seine Gäste empfohlen. Abgesehen von diesen Einschränkungen lebt man im Giardino dei limoni fast wie im Paradies.

This was our favorite stay during our 2 week trip to Italy. The view from the lovely terraces is the most amazing view in the world. The bed and breakfast has lemon trees growing all around it and is very pretty. We loved it so much we stayed an extra two days and the owner was nice enough to give us a deal on the last night. The walk to the center of Ravello does take about 15-20 min because it is uphill and up stairs the entire way. We enjoyed the walk because it has several spots where the views are amazing but I would not recommend it to anyone looking to be right outside the main plaza or with any health condition. Finding the bed and breakfast shouldnt be too hard if you ask someone..we got there at 11pm with hardly anyone around in the dark and still found it fairly easily. The owner even has printed signs out on the road. The owner- Gregorio Gallo was very friendly and helpful and spoke enough English for us to communicate efficiently. He had our refridgerator and kitchen cabinets stocked with juice, yogurt, coffee, bread, toast, bottled water..etc. Kitchen had dishes and pans for cooking. The only downside to the stay was that our bed was not the most comfortable as it was actually a pull out sofa bed but this is not the case in all the rooms and it was ok after we put some extra comforters on the mattress.

Our apartment exceeded our expectations and was excellent value for money. It also offered an outstanding view of the Amalfi Coast. Having been to Positano and Amalfi, we thought that Ravello was a better 'base'; it is less congested, less commercially-oriented but still has good restuarants, is a less difficult location in which to find parking and is generally more conducive to relaxation. In sum, our five day stay at Giardino dei Limoni was terrific. The only qualifier we would offer is that the apartment is 120 steps to the road and about another 400 to the centre of Ravello, so you need to be reasonably fit or have access to a car.

this was the best hotel experience throughout our six week trip to europe!!!!! location and view are both incredible. the owners of the property truely embody the true meaning of hospitality. would recommend this property to anyone! the only drawback is that there are about 80-100 stairs from the road to the hotel. but if you can manage the stairs, staying here is a must!

We had a very good stay at Giardine dei Limone. The property in itself was fine, as described above and in almost all respects was better than we expected. It had fantastic views. The drawbacks were that it was very hard to find as the maps/instructions were virtually non-existent and we had to ask several times. We had downloaded maps from other sources on the internet, but on these what seemed to be roads were actually tracks or paths, which was very misleading. A more important thing was that I don't believe that it was made sufficiently clear that the property is quite inaccessible and would be entirely unsuitable for anyone disabled, in poor health or very elderly - there being over 150 steps between the nearest road and the property, and a climb of almost 500 steps from the property to reach Ravello on foot! Another drawback was that soundproofing was not too good and it could have been difficult if neighbours were even a little noisy. Luckily ours weren't!

While this B&B is more difficult to find, your patience will pay dividends! This was our second trip to Italy in as many years and this B&B offered the most spectacular view of the sea and the mountain. The owner, Gregorio, and his father were extremely kind and accommodating. This B&B offers the equivalent of a studio apartment with a king size bed, sitting area, kitchen, and bathroom with a clothes washer. Each apartment has a balcony facing the sea. Our experience here could not have been better. The best way to travel to this B&B is by car. One last note for those traveling into the USA...the US Department of Agriculture does not allow people entering through customs to bring lemons (any produce) into the USA. Gregorio generously gave us a grocery bag full of large beautiful lemons that unfortunately were confiscated at US Customs. Should we return to this area of Italy, we would definitely stay here again. Grazie, Gregorio, grazie!

We had high hopes for this place. Had we been honestly informed about it, we probably would have still reserved with them. In the end, however, we felt quite deceived. To begin with, the apartment is NOT in Ravello. It is down the hill from Ravello in a small community called San Cosma. It is inexcusable that they have such misleading information under "Location" on Venere.com. On foot from Ravello, its not obvious to find Via Casanova. It is a long walk, and you will need to ask locals as you go. Inexcusable that the owners don’t provide detailed instructions – but not surprising, since they obviously don’t want you to know exactly where it is when you are reserving! Sorry folks, you’re just being plain dishonest. Once there, you will no doubt want to go back to Ravello, since that is where you think you are visiting. Here's the real truth: It is MORE THAN 400 STEPS from your door up to the central square! And several of those are long steps that angle up, so should count for more. We were in shape for it, but those who are not very physically fit should be warned. Importantly, the "apartment" has just been "redone". BEWARE! They have since changed some (not all) of the photos, but we reserved quite a different place than we found waiting for us. NOTE that most of the comments here refer to the older incarnation which no longer exists! The previous one large, nice charming apartment had been made into three much smaller, quite bland units. The PHOTO OF THE TERRACE IS NOT ACCURATE! The terrace has been redone with lots of souless black iron railing, and is shared between the three units. Also, NOTE THAT YOUR BED IS LIKELY TO BE A SOFA-BED! And not a very good one. A very unpleasant surprise. The rest of the property is quite nice (although not for your use..). Too bad the new (much smaller) units were not done with the same good taste. The upside is that the view is nice, the place was clean, and the price relative

Our room had a wonderful view on the ocean and the coast...fantastic ! It was clean, we had a small kitchen to cook and a place to eat outside. There was many steps between the B&B and the heart of the village (top of the mountain). So, we took some exercise ! We will certainly return there if we go back to Ravello. It was a simple but very nice B&B.

We came for a wedding in ravello, the place is so stunning with breath taking views. The B&B is located on the cliff side which was very difficult to find. The location is low down from ravello, which means lot's and lot's of steps to get up to. The pic's don't do the B&B justice i have never stayed in a place with such stunning views. would highly recommend to stay cause it offers real value for money. But you must be fit for walking up those stairs.

We had an excellent value for money stay in what is a "pricey town". The owner could not have been more helpful and although his family were not fluent english speakers we muddled through. Visitors should be aware of 2 things: The apartment is 60 steps down from the main road. it is then a long hike up into town. You need to be healthy and able to take on a good uphill walk. This is not a place for the infirm or those with blood pressure issues. The other thing is that the room faces into morning sun and there is no black out on the door so either take your own or be prepared for an early rise. Two really positive things you should know: 1. The view is stunning, it is "to die for" and you can spend a good relaxing time chilling on the balcony. 2. The rooms have a well-equipped kitchenette so get some local produce and goodies and eat in. We would certainly go back again.

What a beautiful apartment! We stayed for 4 nights and loved it. Laundry and breakfast were included, which we thought was impressive, and a great value. And the view from the room was gorgeous. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, one of our favorite places we stayed on the Amalfi Coast. Bring sturdy knees, though, as the steps are many and steep between town and the apartment!

A lovely apartment with spectacular views. The daily trek up to Ravello with two littlies (nearly 4 and 7 months) kept us fit - we even walked up from Amalfi once just for fun! A car isn't really necessary as long as you like walking, as the buses are frequent and reliable, and save you the terror of driving yourself along the narrow precipitously winding roads. We also have to thank the owner of Giardino dei Limoni for giving us a lift to the station in Salerno at the end of our stay, saving us a 5am overloaded hike up the hill!

We were thrilled with the accommodation and had a fantastic stay. We found the accommodation much better than the pictures suggested. The owner and his family were very helpful and hospitable, including providing maps, bus timetables. The accommodation represented excellent value for money and had an amazing view. The only difficulty we encountered was finding the location initially. It is also a steep climb to the village for the less fit/mobile. We did a number of challenging hikes in the area, as well as enjoyed time by the beach and got around by bus and walking.

We had a lovely time, thank you. You recommended the use of a car but you could definitely get by without one (if we came back we wouldn’t hire a car) and we hardly used our car because it was difficult to park and driving in the Almalfi area is a nightmare! The only thing to complain about is the long walk up the hill in the heat! The owners were really friendly and we were very impressed with the information folder we were given, which included bus timetables and lots of helpful information.

My main comment about this property is that it appeared 'unfinished'. The owners are still working on another two apartments and so there was some building and maintenance work going on - which meant a fair bit of noise at 7 o'clock in the morning! The shower also leaked and when it rained we had a puddle in the living area. There are just a few repairs and finishing touches that I believe need to take place to make this apartment nearly perfect.
