The B&B is located in an old neighborhood that has a lot of history. The neighborhood is still trying to come back from the hard times they've had. I found the neighborhood to be culturally interesting and honestly not that different in cleanliness from most of the areas of Palermo. The B&B was clean and tidy. The owner did offer a tour through the neighborhood in the evening which was a nice experience. I only had two con's and the first was that I thought I had booked a single room with a private bathroom. The single room has a shared bathroom. All other rooms have their own bathroom. The second is that the breakfast dining area is right outside of three of the rooms. If you want to feel like you are sharing a home, this B&B provides that experience.

A perfect place to taste the insights of Palermo. Cool place in the heart of the caotic and wonderfully decadent city. A bit rumorous on a Saturday night because of the city life. A pleasure to have breakfast while talking to Claudio 'del più e del niente'. Still working to restaure the ancient building, it will be great in a short period of time. Ah, unforgettable croissants handmade by Claudio!!

Alla Vucciria, where my wife, my daughter and I stayed for two nights, was delightful, and we recommend it highly. It was in a very colorful neighborhood, down the block from a lively market, and within an easy walk to most of the major sites of interest in the center of town, as well as the train station. The room was pretty and very spacious. What sets it apart most from other places we stayed in Sicily, though, was Claudio, our extremely gracious host, who was a great conversationalist, interesting, informed and enthusiastic about Palermo and about the Vucciria neighborhood. One evening, by way of pointing out a good restaurant to us, he took the three of us on an impromptu walking tour around the area, showing off the historical and architectural features of some of its more notable buildings, even bringing us inside some of them, and giving us an opportunity to become acquainted with parts of the city's historical richness that tourists don't usually see. He served great breakfasts, too.

The rooms inside the B&B are excellent (one was worked on during our stay), there is even a DVD player available. People are nice and welcoming. The rest of the house (façade, entrance and stairways) is frightening, as is the dirty street outside. The description for arriving at the B&B and the map are insufficient.
