Good and clean for its location. No minibar which would have been handy given we were in Naples during the heatwave summer of 2007. Staff very helpful finding us a decent restaurant within walking distance, even rang them to send someone over to take us there so we didn't get lost on the way. Good air conditioning with individual control for room.

Thanks first of all to Ran (the Sri Lankan receptionist - who works there from 6pm to 9am!) for his sympathy and all-time willingness to help. I had a few things not working in my bathroom such as a rigid shower courtain falling apart, the water with only two positions: super hot or boiling (in both the sink and the shower). In the room, there was one funny thing: the TV did have cable TV but only ONE channel (!) and that channel was the one that they were watching in reception (although Ran would volunteer to change it to whichever you prefered). I didn't care much about this because I spent all my time visiting Naples but it really differs from what you understand when you read that they've got cable TV (there was not aerial TV either). The best thing about the location of the BB is that is very close to the train station from where the trains to Pompei depart. The surroundings of Piazza Mercato are dirty and quite decadent but so genuine on week days when there are fish shops open all over the place with their merchandise displayed in the street that it really pays off to see it. 80 metres away from the BB there is a Tram stop that takes you for 1 euro to the Castel Nuovo, Castel de l'Ovo, Gallerie Humberto I in a matter of minutes. I paid 65 euros in Dec. 06 per night for a double room which I consider very expensive compared to the 80 Euros a night that you can pay for a 4* hotel in Barcelona, but I shopped around and couldn't find anything really cheaper or much better looking in Naples so... Breakfast can be missed because is extremely mediocre. You could NOT pay with credit card inspite of what they say in Venere. Incidentally, the thing to swipe the credit card was out of order (what a coincidence!) Overall, it's a clean and recently furbished place that could do with some better maintenance and a bit more care put into those uninspired airline breakfasts.

By car
From the motorway, drive in the direction of Napoli Centro-Porto, proceed until via Nuova Marina until you arrive at Piazza Mercato, number 340.

By train
From the Central railway station (Piazza Garibaldi),take Corso Garibaldi in direction of via Nuova Marina and at the end of the street turn right onto Piazza Mercato.

By airplane
From Capodichino airport take the bus line 15 or the Alibus shuttle service to Piazza Garibaldi, then proceed on foot until Piazza Mercato (approximately 300 metres ahead).

Secured outdoor parking is available on the premises. The price is €10,00 per day. Reservation is recommended.
The B&B organizes private transfers to/from Capodichino airport, subject to charges.

METHODS OF PAYMENT
Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation. The bill will then have to be settled directly at the hotel. In case your chosen hotel needs a deposit, this information will be included in the "Cancellation policy" section and the deposit will have to be settled directly with the pre-selected property. You cannot cancel your reservation if you selected and booked a non refundable or prepaid rate.
