The room was spacious, clean and beautiful. The location was amazing- right on the Piazza San Spirito. We opened our shuttered windows to a bustling nightlife with restaurants and music in the evening and in the morning it was transformed into a market place. Despite this, the room was quiet and we didn't even need our earplugs. We never met any staff! We figured out to get our key from the restaurant below, and paid by leaving our credit card number in the room. The office is supposed to be open from 9:30-2:00, but we never saw anyone. Still in all a great location and apartment. It would be better still if they added a minifridge. We did not eat the breakfast, but it was set up the whole time we were there.

No A/C and full of mosquitos! In general this is a very nice hotel in a very nice location. However, our air conditioning broke down on the first afternoon during a very hot and humid week. There are no reception or property manager, so we were not able to complain to anyone that night. We had to sleep with the window open to help alleviate the heat, which meant we were bitten to death by mosquitos. The next morning when we complain to the manager (who spoke very little English -- we had to communicate by looking up and pointing at words in the dictionary), she refused to give us a discount or compensation for our suffering. The A/C was fixed partially that day -- the room was cool but there were water dripping everywhere. We won't be coming back here.

HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL

By car
From the A1 motorway, take the Firenze Certosa exit and follow the indications to Piazza di Porta Romana square. Take Via Romana and then Via S. Agostino. It is forbidden to enter by car the area where the property is located; therefore, guests will be kindly requested to give their car registration number for entering the area. The permission will allow you to enter the area for unloading and loading luggage.

By train
From the Santa Maria Novella railway station, take bus line D and get off at the Piazza Santo Spirito stop.

By airplane
The Florence Amerigo Vespucci airport is approximately 8 km/5 miles away. You can reach the B&B by taxi or the Airport Shuttle bus which connects the airport with Santa Maria Novella railway station. Once you get to the station follow the above-said directions.

TRANSPORT SERVICES

It is possible to park in the nearby private garage. The cost is around €30,00 per day.
