| The Relais Grand Tour is located just next to the Academy Gallery, which hosts Michelangelo's David as well as other masterpieces, only 100 metres away from the Medicis' Chapels and the church of San Lorenzo, less than a 15-minute walk from the Uffizi museum, very close to the Cathedral and to San Marco museum and church (with frescos by Beato Angelico).
The B&B stands in one of the liveliest corners of the city, where you can find typical restaurants and enjoy your shopping both in the most fashionable boutiques and in San Lorenzo's famous market place, with its wide variety of Florentine products. The property is well serviced by public transportation and is conveniently situated five minutes walking distance from the Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station and the Fortezza da Basso fairgrounds, just 10 km away from the Amerigo Vespucci airport which offers a car rental service. |

Every room has a private bathroom decorated with ancient hand-painted majolicas, hairdryer, individually controlled air conditioning, heating, mini fridge, soundproof windows and free coffee & tea making facilities. In-room satellite TV, iron and ironing board are available upon request.

we stayed for 1 night. b/b is excellently located, not far from train/bus station. The owners are very helpful. What we did not like is the fact that breakfast is to be taken at coffee shop. But the owners very conveniently provide tea/coffee and hot water /in room together with crackers and jam.
I would go again but my husband is a bit fussy about breakfast.

Relais Grand Tour is a lovely bed and breakfast close to many of the beautiful sights of Florence. Christina was very sweet, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Cristina & Guiseppi are wonderful hosts! They make themselves available for any questions and have a wide knowledge of things to do and see around Florence. I had to re-arrange my original reservations because of a third person jooining our party which she was able to accomodate with no problems. The rooms were as Cristina explained and as seen on the web site - roomier than most you'll find in Italy, private bathrooms (the showers could stand to be bigger all over Italy!), and a superb location. We were able to walk all over, including from the Stazione when we took the train in from Rome, and still the side street was pretty quiet. The one drawback was that we were there in May and the airconditioning is apparently not 'hooked up' until June. While it wasn't hot at all in Florence during our stay (low 70's/high 60's)- the weather was excellent, in fact - if you want to block out the noise from the street with the double paned windows, there is no air flow and therefore, it gets stuffy at night. We had earplugs and left the windows open for air.
For the price, you get a great room, wonderful service, happy and accomodating hosts, and superb location. We would highly recommend a stay here at any time of year!

We enjoyed our stay at the Relais Grand Tour. Even before we got there Cristina communicated with us several times by email to provide all the relevant information. She and Guiseppe were most friendly and gave us invaluable suggestions during our stay.
The location is also terrific - its central to most locations (5 minutes to Galleria Academia, 10 minutes to Duomo, 10-15 minutes to the station, 20 minutes to the Uffizi). There are also many good restaurants nearby.
The room was quite spacious and well decorated; the bathroom was clean but small (especially the shower). We were on the 2nd floor, so make sure your bags aren't too heavy to carry up the flight of stairs. The room overlooked the street, so it was a bit noisy but it did not bother us.
Two things could have been made clearer on the Venere site - breakfast was not included in the quoted price (it is available for 9 euros) and payment was required in cash at the end of the stay.
We would definitely go back here...we have fond memories of this place. Thanks Cristina and Guiseppe.

This is more of a guest room in a private building than a tradional hotel. The decor is excellent and the breatkfast lovely. The hostess was most kind. The location is quite central to museums and the market. It is a lovely place to base out of in Florence.

The pictures on the website made this property look far more attractive that it was in reality. The room had tacky furnishings and the tile in the bathroom was old and decrepit. The sink had soap residue in it. The sheets on the bed, however, were crisp and clean. We got no sleep whatsoever the first night--it was so noisy, with trash trucks clammoring at dawn. Christina was very personable.

Our host and hostess were a delight and most helpful. When my husband felt ill, there was hot tea to help him to recover. And it worked.
The location was perfect. Near to great eating places and even near to a washer/dryer facility, which proved useful and needed. I highly recommend a stay at "Relais Grand Tour."

Very friendly, gracious, and accomodating service. Christina and Giuseppi quickly became good friends. Facilities well-appointed, maintained, and decorated. However, shower space was quite limited. Easy walking distance to central Florence and train station. Would stay again gladly.

Overall we thought it a little expensive for what we got. The bathroom was a small shower room - the bedroom was spotlessly clean although the view from the window was not favourable. Breakfast was excellent. Christina made us very welcome. We did not get to see the courtyard as advertised on the website as we would have liked to have done. Although Florence is a very expensive city we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
