We were on vacation with Jennifer's two adult sons. We stayed two nights and wished we could stay longer. The city and the surrounding Tuscany area was astoundingly beautiful and so historic. The manager of La Cupola was most gracious, presenting us with two bottles of wine, which we happily drank on the rooftop terrace. We LOVED the rooftop terrace. The hotel is a very short distance from The Santa Maria Novella train station, and is next to practically everything in Florence. We walked everywhere, no need for a vehicle. The only wish we had was for a better map, so we could have found the street for the hotel more easily. The train station has many streets radiating from it and around it. Since there is no elevator, and the rooms are up three flights of stairs, one should consider that.

Great location, within 5 minute walk of train station. Great rooftop patio with views of city. Room was modest and very small with no AC, but overhead fan kept us cool. Our universal adapter did not work - but, manager had everything we needed upon asking. Very helpful! We would stay again!

The quadrable room was very tiny, with old and tiny bath. The noise from the street was terrible during all the night! No air conditioning. The breakfast in a caffe at the corner included coffe and cruassons probably from yestarday. The owner thinks that he can raise the price for a nice view of the Duomo from the window. There is no any corresponding between the service and the price. And in the distance of 5 meter, at the same street, we have found much better hotel for the cheaper price!

the welcome was very friendly - the staff is speaking Italian - only (never mind!)- except the gorgeous owner. Room was clean - with a very, very small but efficient bathroom.

********* I will never forget the warm reception of the manager as well as the perfect location of the hotel (between the train station and "Il duomo"), the view on Il Duomo is better than shown on the pictures! I will definitely go back to this hotel!!! Be careful by the fact that you reach the front desk after climbings several steps of stairs.

The location was excellent - and our most gracious host even gave us a bottle of wine to enjoy on his wonderful rooftop terrace overlooking Florence that we returned there after our stay in Tuscany to an even larger room and another bottle of wine. His staff, although short on English (and us on Italian) were also most helpful and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this property and would happily stay there again.

Those were great two days in Florence! The B&B is rather easy to found, is very close to the railway station and Duomo. Thanks to a wonderful view we had the best room, though an old-fashioned. Enjoyed nice welcoming and service. Thank you for marvellous holiday!

The website only shows one room, we did not get that room. Our room was smaller than the room shown but adequate. The location was excellent, halfway between the Duomo and the rail station SMN. The bathroom was a pre-fabricated box in the corner of the room; it had the smallest shower I have ever used. While there were double windows they were not sufficient to stop all the noise. There was not a lot of noise but it was noticeable. The three flights of stairs can be a little tough when carrying luggage. I paid 75 euro a night. For that price a clean room in a good location in Florence is a bargain. The Management was friendly and pointed out that there was a common bathroom available that was much larger than the one in my room.

Although the room was small it felt cozy. Only a few minutes from the station and the price for the room was cheap. Unfortunately the breakfast was disappointing and the owner didn't speak a word of English. It would be a good stay if you're passing through Italy and staying in Florence for a couple of days.

This B&B was cozy and very clean. The owner and the staff very helpful. The room where we stayed at was very very small but clean and got a little discount for it. We saw the other rooms and were not the big. The location is great! just walking distance from the termini and the Duomo and other areas. The days we were there it was rainy so we only when up on the terrance to enjoy the view and take some pict. I love this place I'll definately again.

I was with my sister. We went to Florence in December and we suffered a lot for the cold temperature of the room! Apart from this and the very tiny bathroom, everything was perfect: the room was nice, the location simply too perfect and the view from the terrace wanderful.

I loved staying at this B&B. The first two nights we stayed in a pretty small little room, with just two twin beds pushed together, a closet, and a very tiny bathroom, with a window that opened into the street. The room was quaint and we never had any noise problems from the street below. On the third night, the room with the view of the Duomo and the street leading to it was available, so he allowed us to stay in that much, much larger room at the same rate, which was a lovely treat. The rooftop terrace made for an extremely romantic evening with a bottle of wine, and I would recommend everyone hang out there after a fun night out, to rewind and get some perspective. I would definitely recommend this hotel for it's great location, relatively quiet accomodations (any place in Italy will have pretty thin walls and be adjacent to an alleyway), and a great value. Some of the best money I spent on my trip to Italy.

This was a great place to stay in Florence... Fantastic location, friendly and competent host, comfortable bed at a good price. The cafe around the corner served our cafe in the morning and we found an nice internet point on the next street. The lighting in the rooms is poor and the pay telephone in the lobby was broken but everything else was wonderful.

The location was perfect - just down the street from the Duomo. The breakfast was a little disappointing - you get a pass to a cafe around the corner and get just a coffee and pastry. My room had a window looking out over the street but even with lots of traffic, it was still very quiet. There's not really any common area so it's better if you're just looking for a room and place to keep your stuff while you tour Florence. The roof-top terrace does have a beautiful view of Florence and the Duomo.

The first night we were in the spacious corner room with the circular window looking up the street towards the Duomo. This is the one in the pictures. This has a comfortable bed. The other three nights we were in a much smaller room next door with a very uncomfortable bed and a bathroom in need of repair. This spoilt our stay there even though the staff were extremely helpful at trying to help make our stay. Stay if you can spend the time in the big room, look elsewhere if not. The hotel is very well paced near the station and all the sights. A tip for Florence is do not ever think of eating from the tourist menu in any restaurants. The food might have Italian names but that is where the resemblance ends.

Antonio (the landlord) was really kind to us in the welcoming and during our whole stay. We received a bottle of wine (Rosso Rubino di Toscana) as a welcome drink. Nice isn't it? The wiev from the terrace is absolutely spectacular. On the last day we could leave our luggage at the reception, which was a great help to us as we left late in the evening. We liked it very much and if we return to Florence we will definitely stay here.

I would really recommend this place highly. The goods are strategic location near the duomo and train station, very nice and kind manager, very very best service provided, the room and bathroom was clean but really tiny... =) You will find a lot of good unexpected surprises over there. The bads are very noisy at nite fr the street and it is on the third floor of the building and no lift or escalator whatsoever. The building is old but acceptable since it is clean inside. So as long as you dont mind w the bads... then You are having the best place hotel in Florence w a decent price for such good service.

Great place to stay, basic rooms but comfortable, small bathroom but all you need, there is a large bathroom shared by all if you really needed room. Those of a larger disposition may struggle to fit in the small shower cubicle. Nice welcoming with a nice bottle of wine, and and an offer to buy it cheap at reception. Not for the visitor who requires 24hr attention. The view from the terrace was spectacular. Price was great for location, would definitely recommend. There are stairs as in all of Italy so not for elderly or disabled. Was initially a bit tricky to find due to the dual street numbering system in Italy, 1 for business and 1 for private. Breakfast was basic but that is how they do it in Italy....when in Rome!

The location is very convenient to the water taxis on the Grand Canal. The owners Allan and Laura are very nice and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. If you do not mind a shared bathroom, this is a very nice place to stay. Good value and an excellent location. The breakfasts are served in your room and are very adequate. In addition to the continental breakfast of coffee, juice, and a variety of sweet breads and biscuits, Allan serves you a really good grilled ham and cheese sandwich.

The Bed and Breakfast was great. It was close to the train station and the Duomo. Everything was close by. The views from the terrace on top were wonderful. Antonio's gift of a bottle of wine added to the experience. It is up two flights of steps, but that was clearly stated in the information online. We were worried that it would be noisy at night. Once the windows and shutters were closed, you didn't hear a sound. The breakfast was typically Italian and the little cafe was nice.

We really enjoyed our stay at the B&B. The view from the roof was breath taking in the day and night. The complementery bottle of wine was wonderful to take up to the roof in the evening to enjoy the view of the town. We came with our children and stayed in the corner room with half circle window that opened and or 14 year old love just look and listening to the world around her. Thanks for an awesome and memorable time in Florence. We can't wait to come back again in the future.

This was a very nice place, located halfway between the train station and Il Duomo. The clerk, Antonio, was very welcoming, and he even gave my wife and I a bottle of red wine. It was unbearably hot in Florence during our stay, hitting 40 celsius (105 Fahrenheit), which made our room hot too, despite the fan. If we were to go back here, we would opt for the common-area bathroom, as our in-room bathroom made the room even hotter. Otherwise, it was a very nice place and we were quite happy with it. The baclony had an excellent view of the cathedral and the surrounding countryside.

Antonio was quite nice and helped in settling in. The location is awesome. We got a room with a view to the Duomo. A little small, but i guess this is what to expect with a B&B. The breakfast is a croissant and a coffee at a bar nearby. Nothing fancy, but as expected. Location is excellent. Close to railway station and very practical. I would recommend this to all. One point to watch: 2 flights of stairs to reach the hotel. So, if you are old / cant walk, i would not recommend as there is no elevator.

We absolutely loved staying at Soggiorno La Cupola. It was in such a central location, close to the train station, close to all the sights we wanted to see, and right on a main street. One of our favourite parts was going to the little bar, close the the B & B, for breakfast.

Antonio was very nice and welcoming. The terrace and the bottle of wine was also a nice touch. The rooms were dusty, the bathrooms very small and inconvenient and the flight of stairs was a chore. The location was good and close to main attractions. It was reasonably priced. I would look around the next time for a more comfortable, cleaner place even if the location wasn't as central. Florence can be walked from any location.

Nice people, great view of Cuppola from roof. Breakfast is off site. No one spoke English. Really, no one at all. It was pretty funny. No help getting what I needed from staff ie: paper towels, extra towels. Still, it is well located, a few flights walk up and clean. Nice staff, only no help with bookings due to language barrier. I blame my American upbringing. One language only.

It is worth staying at this bnb just for the view from the roof terrace - day and night. We arrived and were greeted with a bottle of wine to enjoy on the roof terrace, then bought our own wine to enjoy up there every night after that. The location is perfect-just round the corner from the station and near all the main attractions. Rooms are basic but have everything you need. We will go back!

The location is great and the view on the dome from the terrace. It is a very good choice for those who don't mind a microscopic bathroom. We got the room on the corner for 4 people and it was great but I am not sure about the others. I saw that even the shared bathrooms were very clean. The owner is very kind and gives useful information. Overall for us everything was fine with staying one night without taking shower.

The location of this hotel is great, we had booked a room for our daughter but she was taken ill at the last minute, and didn't come with us so we should have been charged for the room but Antonio very kindly didn't charge us, he's a great host and the Soggiorno La Cupola is a great value for money hotel.
