The b&b is not at all what is shown on the website (not just venere, but their own site). The room that we had, although the hotel was empty, was by far much worse than all the photos. Furniture is minimal, old and dated. Public areas are unkept (carpeting on the stairway was almost too filthy to walk on, and below you could see the bare cement stairs-not a pretty sight). Location is ok, as mentioned, not too difficult to find and really in the heart of Florence. It was the only thing that saved our stay-hotel not worth staying if there are better choices. They really need to do some renovations, everything is, besides very minimal, downright dirty in the common areas (carpet in the room was not better, either). Breakfast is non-existant for non-italians, although the staff very kindly left it out for us later than the specified time-we had to go out each day to have a good breakfast, so not much use for including it into the price. I felt the property was definitely not worth the 80 Euro/night that we paid, especially in low season. We were there only for two nights but I don't think I could have resisted a third.

We had a very great stay. Exellent location in Florence just 50 meter to the Duomo and the main monuments. The staff very nice understands the needs of travelers and take great care to provide useful information and recommendations. The room was large with nice furniture, clean and cozy and double pane windows make the room silent.
Breakfast served in a small area is full of choises: caffe, tea, milch, butter, confiture, nutella, honey, bread, delicius cake, creakers, orange and ace juices. On this table we meet other peoples and we shared impression and comments about our travel. Stair also were not a probleme for us. We highly recommend Residenza dei Pucci!

Florence is a beautiful city and the B&B is in an ideal location. We were expecting something a little less stark in decor, hoping more quaint and lovely, but it was ok. The odor from the bathroom was awful and since it rained a couple of days, it became worse! We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and there was NO mention or recognition. The clerk who was supposed to make our dinner reservation at Il Cibreo never called, so we had a few mishaps but nothing to hamper our great time in Florence. She recommended another fantastic locals restaurant and we loved it. Breakfast was the worst we had in Italy, sorry. I would return if I had a better room with an odorless bathroom.

Location and staff was great, short distance to Duomo and Academia, the area become reasonably quiet after 8 PM. You have your own key to front door, since front desk hour only between 9AM-9PM. There is cafe with Internet access across the street. Breakfast was basic, juice, coffee, toast, etc.

The pictures on the website were not accurate of the foyer area. There was no lift. Rooms are on the second and third floor. The furnishings were not as antique as shown in pictures and our room was very small. The staff were very helpful. Their english was much better then my nonexistant Italian. THE BATHROOM WAS EXCELLENT, THE BEST SHOWER I HAD IN TWO WEEKS. There was a small kitchen area where breckfest could be put on a tray and taken to your room. The food was fine. Orange and pineapple juice, coffee, tea, yogurt, cereals and two baked items, plus apples, pears and cheese. No dining room so very little contact with other people. Our room smelled a little funny as if something was being covered up.(Old house smell and smoke) I chose this place because of the location and thought it would be more charming. Paying more money for those reasons were not worth it.

The location was convenient to the duomo, but it was
difficult to find upon arrival. Just a simple brass plate
beside the door with the name engraved. Not a negative, you
just need to be aware. Luckily the street was short and
the people friendly and willing to go above and beyond
the basic directions.
Room was large, lovely and as pictured. The stairs can
get tiresome so should be considered. Breakfast is very
basic and could perhaps be improved upon a bit.
No actual negatives, you can be very comfortable here,
just be sure to know what you can expect.

Fantastic place to stay. Very near to Dumo and room very big and well appointed. Air conditioning excellent and this allowed us to sleep with the windows closed so no noise. Breakfast self service - the basics of good coffee and cake. You take it to your room and this allows an early start. Staff very efficient.

This review is for the Pucci Suites because the Residenza dei Pucci pulled the old "switcheroo" with us. They overbooked the Residenza so that they could get you in the door. Once you're there, they tell you they're sold out but will put you up for the same rate at their sister hotel. This also happened to at least 1 other couple the same time we were there. Luckily the Pucci Suites was quite nice (no elevator) and spacious. We liked the Alt'Arno side of Firenze, but it would have been nice to make that decision on our own without the hotel forcing us. They offered to let us find another hotel, but when you have all your luggage and you're tired, no ones wants to waste time. Just be forewarned that when you book a room here, you may or may not get it.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Residenza Dei Pucci as it was much better than we had expected. It's always hard to tell what a place will be like from a tiny thumbnail picture on a website, but when we opened our door we found a gorgeous, huge bedroom and lovely en-suite bathroom. If we looked out of the window to the right we could see the Duomo - we were that close - literally round the block, which meant it was the perfect place to be to explore Florence from. It was just under a ten minute walk from the main train station too. We didn't get to see any of the other rooms, but if they were all like ours, we'd stay in any of them again. When we asked for a restaurant recommendation, the one they recommended we try was lovely too - it was just a few doors down the road in the basement of an old palace, and the food was like the best Italian home cooking. From the other reviews we were prepared not expect much for a breakfast, and that did live up to these expectations - but we found our favourite coffee bar 2 minutes away which did the best capuccinos ever, so it gave us an excuse to go out for breakfast. I would heartily recommend this B&B to anyone and everyone and we will definately be going back there when we return to Florence. It was great value for money.

This location is ideal for travellers interested in easy access to all the sights of Florence. The single room was larger than I anticipated and it was nicely decorated and spotless!
The breakfast items leva much to be desired and the breakfast area is much too cramped.
Otherwise this is a lovely property and a terrific value. I'd stay here again.

A Great stay. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The location is central to shopping and the Duomo.
One inconvenience for us travelling as a group, splitting up to several hotels is that incoming phone calls are available only when the front desk is opened (8AM-8PM).

Excellent room and service, especially welcoming when arriving hot and tired after a long train journey.
Two minor issues, the carpet is quite hard to walk on without shoes, very rough and the breakfast wasn't the most appealing.
I would definitely go back, excellent location, good price and spotless rooms.

We found the staff very helpful and friendly, the rooms spacious, perfectly decorated and very comfortable (apart from the carpet which is a killer on the feet!) and the location ideal. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate in going back there.
The fact that a proper breakfast is not served was not a problem although it would have been nice to have had cold milk to go with the cereal and perhaps some cream cheese to go with the dry crackers.

We enjoyed being in the heart of Firenze, so close to everything. The staff at Dei Pucci, especially Leonardo, were friendly, savvy and helpful. We stayed there on both ends of our trip to Italy. Our only complaint was lack of hot water for the bathtub in the first room, and some broken fixtures and burned out light bulbs. The subsequent room had a great shower with plenty of hot water and plenty of light. Go figure!

Good value for the location! My only gripe is that there was no elevator and no mention of the fact that the rooms are up two steep set of stairs. If you're visiting in the summer as I was, this means you'll be sweating buckets by the time you get your luggage to the room. One other thing, breakfast was a disappointment. We ended up eating out!

The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful, my train arrived late and he stayed late to check me in, show the room to me and even recommend a nice restaurant. The room was very large and the bed was the most comfortable one on my week long trip through Italy.

If you're headed to Florence and want to spend the best $150/night you've EVER paid for a room, the Rezidenzia dei Pucci is it!!! Just 2 blocks from the Duomo; central to almost everything in "Firenze"; kings beds and bidets;
great staff and AIR CONDITIONED. It truly rules. Get your supplies across the street from Michelle's corner market!! We loved it.

Great rooms and great location! Our traveler's checks were stolen while sightseeing; staff was very considerate re letting us use their phone, helping us locate Western Union, AmEx, etc. Breakfast (continental) is, very conveniently, left on a tray in your room. Our room faced the street; street noise made it difficult to sleep w/windows open. You might ask for a room on the back side of building. The only drawback is that there is no elevator.

Wonderful, friendly staff. The room was what we expected and better. You really cannot beat it for the price. We had a large group of friends spread over several different B&B's, and their experiences were not as good as ours. We will be back!

Staying at the Residenza Puccini was absolutely wonderful. The room was beautiful and very clean. The room had a table with a tray of snacks for a light breakfast. The staff was very nice and helpful. The only word of caution is that the office has certain hours of operation so travelers need to make sure they arrive into Florence within those hours to get their keys. The location is also perfect. You are a block away from the duomo but on a side street so traffic noise is not a problem.

Lovely room, very close to the centre but not at all noisy. We were there in a very cold week in February. The room was warm and comfortable. Breakfast is very basic - a tray in the room with cornflakes, juice etc. We got a good deal because it was out of season. The full price seems quite a lot.

The first room that we stayed in at the top of the facility waaas lovely but impossibly noisy. We were moved the next day to two wonderful rooms and enjoyed the rest of our stay immensely. I do think that you should tell your guests ahead of time that there is no elevator to the third floor or staff to carry luggage. However that being said we would certainly stay there again but not on the third florr and will also recommend this to firends. it is a terrific find in Florence. Thanks

Our room was very elegant with all the comforts necessary for a wonderful stay in Florence. The 4-poster queen bed had the most comfortable mattress and linens possible! The location, a block from Il Duomo, is fabulous and within walking distance of every part of the city. The staff was very accomodating and friendly. Definitely recommended!

After 5 other stops in Italy, we were so surprised by the size of the room ... It seemed huge, and the furnishing were very nice! Very close to the Duomo and David and other "attractions" ... On the down side, we got up early the day we were leaving and came back to our rooms at 10am to find they had taken all our luggage out of the room before we even checked out ... Bad way to end an otherwise great stay ...
