The hotel is managed by Alessandro who is both helpful and friendly. I stayed in a single room to the back of the hotel. It was nicely furnished, although the back faced a noisy alley where buses were parked. There was noise in the morning coming from the common dining room where breakfast. The hotel was located in a historical area and within walking distance to the train station.

A great stylish hotel in a perfect location within 200m of the Plazza Dumo and within easy walking distance of all the major sites. A great place to stay, Allessandro and his staff were excellent

This was so awesome. Alessandro, the B&B owner, was very friendly and helpful. The B&B is brand new, the rooms were very spacious and clean. So was the bathroom. The location was incredible, on the corner of the Duomo and a block away from Piazza deglia Republica. I would definately return and highly recommend this B&B.

This was our best stay on our entire trip in Italy. The bed and breakast is so close to all the sites, we walked everywhere. Alessandro is so nice and willing to make reservations and recommendations for you. OUr room was beautiful. It was very large compared to other hotels or bed and breakfasts we have stayed at. The bathroom was large for Italy standards as well. I would stay here again and strongly recommend it to anyone. The price is so reasonable as well.

Alessandro is a wonderful young man, very helpful and sooo nice. The accomodations are top notch, well kept and clean. Location was the best, just steps from the Duomo and minutes from the Academia and Pontevechio Bridge, getting around to other sites was EASY. But the best part was Alessandro, he is terrific!

Extremely friendly reception, very modern, can't be more central for touristic purpose. The only thing one would want extra, is a garden and absolute silence, but don't forget we're in the middle of the city centre! Great value for money.

Allesandro was very welcoming upon arrival and everything was to our satisfaction. The accommodation was very comfortable, a little noisy as we were on the road, but when the doors/windows were closed it was quiet. Modern beautiful bathroom and large room. We found the stay overall incredibly pleasant and we would highly recommend it to anyone, well situated and within walking distance of all sights!

I would highly recommend Il Salotto di Frienze. Alexsondro was an exceptional host. Our room was most spacious and the location was right in the heart of the city. I would definitly stay there again.

The Bed and Breakfast Il Salotto di Firenze was great. The location was great and security of the place was top notch. I spent many days/hours looking for the best place to stay while keeping in mind price, location, AC, prior guest remarks, and comforts included. Alessandro who owns and runs this great place is wonderful. He will help you with anything and everything. He is young and loves what he does. We were there three days and felt we were leaving a friend behind when we left. His mom makes a great breakfast cake. When I go back to Florence, I will not waste time and book this from the start. Please do yourself a favor and stay here and enjoy Florence. Thank me later.

I can not imagine a better place to stay in Firenze. Alessendro went above and beyond my expectations and this place will no doubt soon become well known as an extremely affordable and enticing place to stay. I have travelled many places and I have never experienced such amazing accommodations for such a low price. The single drawback is that it is right next to the Duomo, and therefore noisy, but that's the price you pay for such impeccable downtown real estate!

The Il Salotto di Firenze was hard to find, but once found, the search was rewarded. The staff walked us from the office to the room and answered all questions. They were very helpful throughout our stay. The room was in a great location, priced well, very clean and comfortable and extremely quiet - after a full day of touring this was important. The highest compliment is the willingness to recommend the property and to stay there again. We loved our stay at Il Salotto di Firenze.

This hotel was cheap and extremely beautiful compared to other places we payed a lot more for. The rooms were gorgeously decorated (traditional Tuscan wall effect) and very clean, not to mention the large clean bathroom! Alessandro, our host was very welcoming even though we arrived late and rather wet from the rain. We did have a bit of drama locating No 6 in the pouring rain with luggage at night and on foot, so it may be a good idea to advise clients exactly where the entrance is. The location was fantastic! Right in the middle of everything and not a problem with noise at night time either. All in all, we loved our stay in Florence and out of 10 other accommodations in Italy during our trip, this was by far the best. We'd have no hesitation in recommending the Bed & Breakfast Il Salotto di Firenze to anyone (although it would be nice to keep it a secret!)

We did not realise just how very central was the location from the maps. Great welcome. Rooms beautifully furnished, in great taste and style. Quiet for the location. Staff very helpful. There could have been a little more drawer or shelf space for clothes. I have no hesitation in recommending the Salotto di Firenze.

This is the best B&B in Italy. I love the beautiful detail design in the B&B. You can feel that Alessandro really loves his business. I was treated like a friend and family. Great location. Great service. It was very sad to leave behind.

We travelled in Italy for a month and this was the best place we stayed at. We had the room with the terrace overlooking Via Roma for six nights. Alessandro, who runs the B&B is very friendly and helpful in making your stay a pleasant experience. Located in a beautiful green and beige building in the historical centre, the interior of the B&B is nearly new. Our room also had an excellent bathroom - an important feature on any holiday! Outside, the Duomo is literally about 50 metres away! In the morning Alessandro will make you a coffee in the excellent breakfast room and happily engage in conversation with you. If there's a better place to stay in Florence we would be surprised. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at the Il Salotto di Firenze. Unfortunately we were only there for one night, but it is literally 1/2 a block from the Duomo! The security system in the B&B is impressive; there is an elevator to the 2nd floor; the decor is elegant and Alessandro is wonderful! He knows all about the city and will help make your stay in Florence truly memorable. We would definitely recommend this B&B and will stay there again when we return to Florence!

This place is a treasure! Alessandro is living proof that Florence's genius doesn't only exist in the past. His hospitality is unmatched! From the moment we arrived we were welcome, we were treated like friends and family, oriented, advised, & offered a refreshment. Every detail was in place. Immaculately clean. The furnishings, bathroom fixtures, lighting, environmental technologies, local magazine and books in the room, books and guides in the breakfast room available to borrow, use of the internet, great conversations, Alessandro's colleague Marco terrific with his advice and great conversations, & location, location, location. There was so much offered, it was such a pleasure and very sad to leave behind.

It's the type of place you don't want to tell people about as you prefer to keep it to yourself, but hey, that's selfish. This place is simply superb. Fantastic location, wonderful spacious room and great staff. I've paid twice as much for an inferior room in a different hotel. This place is very, very special. Simply a must for your stay in Florence.

Absolutamente maravilloso.

Excellent service, excellent location, excellent room! Alessandro was superb with his english and his hospitality was outstanding. The rooms were decorated with taste and with a lot of care. Nothing was spared to make this B&B the closest to a 5* hotel room. The location - right next to the famous duomo and centre of Florence. Short walking distance to everything. Gorgeous, ancient style wooden doors decorate the entrance. We rode up the lift to the 2nd floor and were greated by Alessandro who was more than welcoming despite our late arrival. The room was a welcome delight after our miserable stay in Rome (3 Coins Trevi Fountain). The room was fragranced with lavendar and decorated very tastefully and I loved what they did with the walls to give this 3D splashing effect. Alessandro's partner was sloppy and not as astute as the young, passionate business man. Make sure not to arrive on a Sunday / Monday when mot galleries / museums in Florence is closed!

The owner Alessandro is extremely helpful and knowlegeble with regard to tourist information. He even helped us to download our photos and to inform our Rome B&B of our arrival time. The Trattorial which he recommended is excellent too. Try it! The room we occupied is spacious although kind of noisy as it face the main traffic. But it cause no disturbance to our sleep. We suggest to include information on how to locate the establishment, i.e it is just above Gucci shop round the corner from Duomo, as we had hard time finding the No. 6 unit. Like to add that the hot croissont and freshly brewed cuppucinno perks up our morning. Of all the Italy B&Bs and hotels which we stayed for our trip, we enjoyed Il Salotto di Firenze the most. Location is wonderful too, imagine Duomo is just at your doorstep. Room is extremely clearn and brand new, as we understand that the establishment is only 8 months old. Strongly recommended. Nowhere beats Il Salloto!

An absolute gem of a place, my advice would be to stop looking and book here now, you will not find anything nearly as good for the price. Amazing location, an easy 10 minute walk from the station and literally on the corner of the Piazza del Duomo. Surrounded by restaurants, bars and shops and central for all sites which are at most a 15 minute walk. The facilities are fantastic, beautifully decorated with everything you would expect from a 4 star - air-con, satellite lcd tv, mini-bar (cheap!), etc. A special mention for the owner Alessandro, I've never had a welcome or been so well treated on any previous stay anywhere and he was a huge help to us when we left our passports in our previous accommodation, translating for us and arranging delivery of them to our next hotel. If I stay in Florence again I won't bother looking anywhere else.

Ok,i will try to keep this short! I want to begin my saying Thank you to the owner and host of Il Salotto di Firenze,Alessandro. He was the nicest person in all of Italy, that we met. He greeted us very warmly and immediately offered us something to drink. He was very helpful as we asked him about places to see,eat and as we are a young married couple we wanted to know where the nightlife is in Florence and he pointed out some great spots. We also were very interested in going to Chianti for the day and taking a wine tour. We asked him if he knew anything about it and he was more then helpful he went and looked up some information and presented us with various Wine Tour selections to choose from. We told him which one we liked and he took care of the booking and talked to them asked them for specifications we had and totally just made our trip very easy. Which was just very much needed. And the wine Tour was amazing. Now about the B & B itself...we loved it! It was so comfortable and just very well decorated and you can tell that every little detail was very well thought of. It was very clean too. The breakfast was very good and very well presented in a very charming breakfast & common room. The location was very nice. The building was next to the Duomo and you know its a beautiful location when your surrounded by Gucci, Tiffany & co. and other beautiful stores. We visited other cities in Italy as well as France and Spain but we had the best time in Florence and mostly had to do with what a pleasant time we had and this B & B and how helpful and nice Alessandro is!We definately and most highly recommend this B & B.The price for what you get is also excellent. Charming place, great service, clean and comfortable...what else can you ask for?!?!

My wife and I arrived seperately and got the same great treatment from Alisandro (sorry if I spelled your name wrong). He was kind and welcoming and immediately offered us a cool drink , which was much appreciated after our long, and hot journey. The location of the B & B, the rooms (they are even better than the pictures suggest)and the service were all fantastic. I would not just recommend Il Salotto di Firenze, but insist on others staying there.

We came by car, and had some difficulties to find the B&B, because there is no signs. But the recepcionist rang us, and met us. It is actually forbidden to drive and park in ths streets around. So its only for a short stop to load and unload. We were recommended a parking company only 5 min to walk, and they came with the car whenever you need your car. It costs Euro 40 pr night, but its safe. Good restaurant nearby, La Grotta. We had a really nice stay, and I will really recommend this B&B.

Our first time in Florence was memorable in part by our stay at Il Salotto. Staff (Alessandro & Guido) was just great in providing us excellent service, referrals to some local spots were certainly credible, Overall, it is a VERY NICE B&B right in the heart of a beautiful city. Working with Alessandro for a surprise wedding anniversary ceremony is greatly appreciated. Highly recommended place to stay!!!*****

This is the best kept secret in Florence! Il Salotto di Firenze is on Via Roma just steps away from the Baptistry and Duomo in a completely renovated building. An absolutely fabulous location! You get a key card to the secured building and the B&B. There is an elevator or stairs. The B&B itself is only a few months old and has amazing finishes and details. I'm an interior designer and I wish I could find someone in the USA to apply the same finish to client's walls that the "Salotto" walls are finished in. New hardwood floors throughout, high ceilings, tasteful furniture and bathrooms and a magnificent Murano glass chandelier in an eggplant color in the breakfast room. FREE internet access in ALL rooms and flat screen TVs! Alessandro is the young, bi-lingual entreprenurial owner who is on the premises from 7AM to 7PM most days of the week. He does everything he can to make you welcome and make your stay in Florence a great one. Besides that he is interesting, intelligent and knowledgeable and just SO nice. It is a little noisy on the street but this is a big city and it's just as noisy at the four star hotel one block away. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone. In fact, I was scheduled to stay three separate times in Florence for a couple of days each over the course of a month in three different places but cancelled the other two to stay at "my home away from home" which is just how I came to feel about Il Salotto and Allesandro.

We really enjoyed the central location. We could reach most locations within 5-10 minute walk. The room and bathroom was more than adequate. Noise only became a factor because of some rowdy and boisterous young folks walking outside at night. Our host was very friendly, helpful and personable. We would definitely stay there again.
