This B&B was wonderful. The staff was friendly and welcoming. During our welcome meeting they gave us a map and pointed out things to do, see and places to eat. I was impressed by their concern that we have a good time during our visit to Amsterdam. They were helpful with information regarding the train station and travel to the airport. I would definitely stay here again.

This place was great and very close to the train station (5 minutes). They gave us good recommandations for visiting (museum and boat tour) and restaurants. I would return if I have to go back in Amsterdam. The staircase is very narrow, so don't bring big luggages.

The hosts at Barangay are extremely helpful and friendly. The B&B is very close to the Centraal Station and only a short walk to the center of Amsterdam. We only stayed one night, but it was a great experience. Breakfast is served in bed at a time of your choosing and is extremely good. I would definitely stay at Barangay again.

I was disappointed that selecting the location and the place at the website made me beleive that the place will be where it was shown. After showing up on the site with all the bags they told me that my accomodation is in another flat somewhere else. They claimed to send me this in an email, probably junk mail filter was doing its job... Anyway, the confirmation email received from Venere was not enough to convince them, so if I wanted to have a bed for the night I had to accept going to the flat offered some few km-s away. After all, the room with separate bathroom was nice, but I expected a different location so loosing some veluable hours clearing things out at the beginning decreased the experience, but better luck next time...

simply horrible. no bathroom inside bedroom. the wellcoming to a couple is coffe, tea or ME ofering to the man, for a women is nasty. they say that the acomodation is not a hotel but the price yes. the breakfast is since 09:0h-11:00h for tourist is imposible use this service. please indicate in venere that this b&b is only for gay people because the decoration and the employees can make you feel really bad if you don´t hope it. they charge a plus if you pay with credit card and also a 5%tourist tax.

I was staying in the Tropical Patio Room. Everything was great - everybody was very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect, 3 min on foot from the Central Station, you pay about 4 euro to get there by train from the airport. Very convenient to browse the city! I would definitely stay there again and recommend to everybody who is not too old or overweight. This is just an apartment turned into B&B. You got to be in shape to go up and down the stairs, they are very steep and very narrow, like everywhere in Amsterdam's apartments located in the center of the city. Not a good idea to bring little kids there either, not enough space and the house is not "childproof", a lot of very cute but breakable decorations all over the place including the stairway. Other than that this is great place to stay in Amsterdam, you will be right in the center of the city and save a lot of money, any hotel in the same area will cost you 3-4 times more.

A fantastic welcome with a detailed introduction to the sights and culture of the city, also information of where to eat off the beaten track, for both lunch and dinner. Lovely home from home rooms, we stayed in the studio and the tropical room downstairs which is located next door to the main B&B, very quiet and clean. The breakfast is amazing and I even took the receipe for main dish! I would definately check here first for availability should I return to the city. All in all a brilliant trip made better than we thought because of the closeness of the B&B to the city, but also the feeling of safety as the B&B is in a quiet residential street. Thankyou Godwynn and Wimmo

HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL

By car
On the A10 (the city's ring road) take the ring west and exit at S103 (Haarlem). At the end of the exit turn right in direction of centrum. You are now on Haarlemmerweg. Keep following the Haarlemmerweg until the end where you will cross the bridge, (you can see an old square gate of the city, on your left hand side). After the bridge, turn left and follow the main road on the right lane, which goes parallel with the railway tracks at your left hand side). This road will lead you directly to the property. After crossing the canal, the road bent to the right and there you will see a big free standing redbrick building, Droogbak. Facing the frontside, take the little street to the left from the building, and follow to number 15.

By train
The Central Station is only a 3-minute walk from the property. Exiting the station (main entrance facing the tram stops), turn right towards the Ibis Hotel. Passed this hotel, immediately across the modern (steel) foot bridge, take the stairs up. In front of you, you will see a little square and a huge free standing red-brick building with white stripes and a red door in the middle, this is Droogbak. Leaving the railtracks on your right hand side, walk towards that building and you will find Barangây on the left side, at number 15.

By airplane
From Schiphol airport you can catch a train to the Central Station, then walk to the hotel as above described.

TRANSPORT SERVICES

The underground parking area opposite the Central Station costs €3,40 per hour from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Cheaper parking areas, only €5,00 per 24 hours, can be found outside the city centre under the name of Transfarium.
