Welcome to the pension Continental, a family run property, situated on the upper floors of an attractively renovated office and apartment building. The property is located right on the Mariahilferstraße, historic link between the Imperial Schönbrunn summer residence and the Hofburg Palace, the longest shopping avenue of Vienna.
Our hotel is located on the Mariahilferstrasse, the oldest and longest shopping street in Vienna, with immediate access to the underground system (the U-3 line - station Neubaugasse, entrance/exit Stiftgasse is 30 meter). We were originally booked for 2 rooms at the pension but was offered an apt just one street away. There was a lot of traffic at the pension so it was away from the heavy traffic during breakfast time. Although there was a lot of noise on the street. We found there service was excellent and very friendly. They were very accommodating. The breakfast was very good with a good selection. The location was convenient just about 10 to 15 minutes walk from the city area.

PROS: kind desk assitant; excellent position next to the underground; spacious and clean room; breakfast on an all-you-can-eat basis; CONS: the breakfast room is too small to accomodate all guests; the breakfast buffet is not so rich ans the quality is not very high compared to the price; soap and shampoo are not changed daily.

Excellent service, friendly staff, good breakfast. Rooms are really clean. A bit small but enough. It's in town but not quite so perfect for a quiet sleep yet near enough to all the sites!

This was our first trip to Vienna and Tibor and his staff made us feel welcome and they were very friendly and helpful in particular with the room safe and to retrieve a pair of glasses that went behind the bed frame. They were very helpful on how to get around, marking the city map for us and helping us find a laundromat. We were in Vienna for nine nights with a two day side trip to Budapest and they stored luggage for us during the side trip. We would gladly stay with them again. The room was very comfortable and clean and the breakfast gave us a good start to our days.

Very good hotel, in a good location. The staff were exceptionally helpful as well. Simple breakfast, but all you need before a day seeing the sights in Vienna. Rooms were very good as well, although we were lucky to get an apartment for the price of a room.

I'm very satisfied! It is a nice and clean place near everything, especially if You go to Vienna to see the Museum quartier or for shopping: Maria Hilfer strasse is the best You can find if You want to spend money. You can pay cash or using a credit card at the end of Your staying, unfortunately You can't use debit cards as Maestro or Visa electron but 20 meters down the road there is a safe bankomat. I really recommend this place.

The hotel was nice, and the staff were very kind. My only problem was with Venere.com. Apparently, the Hotel Continental receives reservations from Venere by fax, which, in this case, they did not. It was lucky that I arrived on a sunday evening and they had a room available, because they had no record of my reservation. The manager asked me to book directly with them next time, and I am inclined to do so.

The Hotel-Pension Continental is a very well run pension located conveniently to the U-Bahn. This means that is is well located to all of Vienna. The staff are friendly and can give helpful advice on Vienna and its many attractions - just watch out for directions to the laundromat!

Location is convenient, within short distance of underground and bus, and walking distance to the historical centre. Good continential breakfast. The property manager was very helpful providing transportation direction.

Great location - right on the Metro. Rooms are huge for Europe. The approach is a little scary as you have to trundle through an office building, and their sign's light is burned out on the outside. Front desk staff (during the day) is very efficient and knowledgeable; the night staff not as much. Parking is easily located 1/2 block away. The breakfast is fine, altho they could use a little more variety. Excellent value for the money overall- just be sure you understand this is a four star pension, not a four star hotel and you will be happy when you arrive.
