Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff. Had booked a twin room and were given huge apartment with kitchen and sitting room!

Booked a suite and a single room. Single room was fine but only had a small inner-facing window so a bit gloomy. Suite was very good; a bit wierd furnishings but lots of room & had windows on 3 sides. Great location, short stroll from centre of town & with cafes & restuarants practically on the doorstep.

The 35 euro cleaning charge was a bit steep considering we only stayed 1 night but the apartment was excellent.

This was exactly the type of place I was looking for. It is very convenient for all the tourist attractions most are within walking distance, even for my mum who has had a kidney transplant. It's a small quiet pension which makes you feel like you are staying in someone's apartment rather than a big anonymous hotel. The main lady on reception didn't have much English, but when I am in a different country I would always try and speak that language. There was however a lovely young girl who had very good english and helped when I got stuck with my german. We had a triple room which was very good value. Although some single travellers we met felt their charges were expensive. Breakfast was excellent. There are various cafes, bars and restaurant very close, including one just beside the building with a really nice, accommodating owner. Ideal for a late night glass of wine or hot chocolate. If you are used to the Ritz, it's not for but I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again.

A highly recommended place to stay. We stayed in a delightful triple room overlooking the quiet street of Weihburggase. The room itself was very clean and very generous in size. This wonderful Pension is situated on one of the floors within a very fine classical apartment building. It is centrally located - within very short walking distances to public transport and the main sights of central Vienna. A small criticism is the creaking floors and noise from adjacent rooms. However, this is only a minor point as Lumes & Co has one of the finest services we have experienced in an accommodation of this calibre in Europe. (We travel frequently and this was one of the 17 hotels and pensions we stayed at during this trip.) For instance, they helped us locate and then arranged for a taxi to transport a camera that we had left at a cafe at Schonbrunn Palace, back to our room. This was all done in a limited space of time (during Palace after hours and we were leaving Vienna very early the following day). To sum up, we were very happy with Pension Lumes & Co and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

This is such a sweet quaint charming place to stay. Really fun breakfasts meeting folks from all over. Very convienent to see Vienna and use the rail system. We liked to go to the little Italian restaurant across the street and down a bit. Wine bar next to hotel a nice last stop in the evening.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is fantastic, I don't think you can get more central! Room was very spacious! Breakfast is basic but fine. we would absolutely recommend staying in this Pension.

Convenient location, extremely helpful staff. Room was very quiet, free wireless Internet was invaluable although the signal was a bit weak. Easy walking distance to tourist/shopping area, the CAT train to/from the airport, and TU Wien.

Excellent place to stay. Very central yet situated on a quiet street. Very good approach to pension and very near to cafes etc. The service and the room were excellent. If I were to return to Vienna I would definitely stay there again.

The only thing we wished for during our stay was air conditioning. Coming from the US, we're used to them especially that Vienna was going through a bad heat spell during our stay (38deg C.)

Great location near Stephensplatz. The family that runs it was very nice. The room was clean and well equipped. Breakfast was very average but nice enough. Overall, its a great quality room for the price.

I stayed with my family for two nights in April at Lumes & Co. The apartment which was provided for us was spacious & clean. Further, the lady at reception spent long time for explaining the hot spots in vienne with so kind manner. I recommend Lumes & Co. to anybody travelling there.

My husband and I stayed at Lumes for 2 nights in September 06. Our double bedroom was spacious & clean with a nice ensuite. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Despite the staff speaking limited English, they were friendly - especially the lovely lady who prepared the breakfast. Location is very close to St Stefansplatz Metro in a quiet street. We LOVED it and would stay there again.

The people who manage this little pensione do an amazing job. They are always so hard at work. We appreciate that they let us leave luggage with them while we went to another city. The location is unbeatable!

Excellent value for money. Friendly helpful staff who spoke only very little English. Central location.

Although we liked the pension and found the people very pleasant we thought the price was high for a bed and breakfast. My friend who lives in Vienna was quite shocked at the price.

There was a slight language problem, since I knew no German and they weren't very comfortable with English. But we managed. The breakfast could have been better. But the room was excellent. I shared with two of my friends and there were two single beds and one single bed in a mini-room of its own! This was a vast improvement on what I had experienced before. The bathroom was spacious and clean. They kept towels and toilet rolls stocked pretty well. And it is bang in the city centre. A minute from Stephansdom. So no complaints!

A small family owned place with only a few rooms which makes it a very enjoyable place to stay. Very well located within walking distance of almost all of central Vienna.

CENTRALISSIMO, ANCHE SE UN PO' CARO IN RELAZIONE AL FATTO CHE SI TRATTA DI UN B&B. ACCOGLIENTI ANCHE SE PARLANO SOLO RUSSO O TEDESCO. STANZA CONFORTEVOLE, SPAZIOSA E, SE SCEGLIETE IL CAPODANNO, RUMOROSA PERCHE' AFFACCIA SU STRADA (MEGLIO LE STANZE INTERNE!).

The breakfast was delightful and plentiful, the hotel offered the opportunity to come and go as they pleased at any hour of the day or night. The location was superb; very central but tucked away in a quiet side street. Tea and coffeee facilities in the room would have completed an otherwise excellent break. One thing to be aware of is that the staff have only limited english, but this was not too much of a problem. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again or to recommend it to others.

I did not receive the confirmation of reservation from Venere.com. In the end I emailed and faxed Lumes & Co direct. The email address was not answered and in fairness to Lumes it was a generic address for Austrian accommodation. I received a prompt return fax with an acknowledgment of the reservation from Lumes & Co. The hotel itself was brilliantly located in the heart of Vienna. Most of the things we wished to see were 5 to 10 minutes walk away. The U-bahn was close and very convenient. The room was kept spotless during our stay despite our excess baggage which seemed to be strewn from one end of it to the other, and our hanging our clothes line in a little balcony which overlooked the light-well in the centre of the building. The staff were charming and friendly and the breakfast was very adequate. This hotel appears to cater to an older leisure traveller and the staff appear to greet many of their guests as old friends. I cannot wait to return.

It was wonderful because the location was absolutely excellent. The lodging was fine, though the lobby was horrible, the very small rooms were sufficient and clean. Bathroom was great. There was a problem with the language barrier, but that's always fun. Would stay there again, particularly in warm weather. Have any deals for me??? :-]
