The breakfast was excellent and the staff was very helpful. It is in an excellent location for viewing the sights.

It is on a reasonably quite sidestreet in the heart of Vienna not far from Stefansdom. We had a great time and would definitely stay there again. The room was clean and reasonably sized, the bathroom was large. The staff was very helpful.

Great location, but very noisy. We stayed on the 4th floor facing the street, which looked like it should have been quiet. However, noise from a cafe on the street made sleeping difficult and deliveries/construction in the morning woke us up quite early. The rooms have no air conditioning so the windows must be kept open. The staff were very charming, though, and the breakfast was good. The location was definitely the best part (close to the centre of town and also to the tram and airport transportation). Worth it if it isn't too warm out and you can get a non-street-facing room.

Bel hôtel dans vieil immeuble plein de charme, à la fois très central et très calme, bon acceuil. Seul bémol la chambre simple est assez petite.

Good value .... Clean, quiet, amenities as advertised, and a good price for an excellent location only about 2 blocks from St. Stephen's. Only drawback is that the street is very small and a little difficult to find, but we had a taxi to get us there, so it wasn't really an issue. I'd definitely recommend it, and stay there again if I ever get back to Vienna.

We liked to stay here. It is very quiet, 2 blocks San Josephplatz and 8 from the state opera house. Clean, good breakfast. The standard twin room is very, very small, we moved to a bigger one. Very good restaurants a few meters away.

Quiet, spacious room, old noisy lift. Good welcome but just the minimum. No refrigereted bar in the room. Very closed from the center

There is construction going on in front of the hotel (Feb. 08), which starts early in the morning and runs late into the evening, making front rooms very noisy. They are already noisy, however, as the double-glazing does not block sound from the street. I was on the 4th floor and still could hear conversations on the street outside. Walls inside are also very thin; you can hear your neighbors sneeze.

Hotel Staff extremely helpful, went out of their way to make our experience wonderful. Shopping district adjacent to hotel is a slam dunk. We are walkers so all was perfect.

The location was excellent - very close to the Cathedral and a short distance from the Underground transport system. The hotel is quiet generally but, during our visit, the noise levels from 0730hrs were very high due to major building renovations taking place directly opposite. This is likely to continue for many weeks if not months. There are many good value restaurants nearby for evening meals and several excellent cafes for morning/afternoon coffee and torte.

Nice hotel - well situated especially for the Airport bus that gets in to Schwenplatz - although you'll need a map as it's through small streets. It's only a short walk to the sights and the staff were very helpful. good all round

We stayed for a week in Vienna, and had to add additional days to our original reservation, and we were quoted same rate as our Venere reservation by Hotel Karntnerhof. Location was convenient to tourist attractions-museums, catherdals and more. Shopping, grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and so forth.

The hotel is absolutely in the center of Vienna, but quiet, and it has a closed parking place for cars. The staff was patient and kind, the rooms are spacious in elegant style. The breakfast was simple but delicious. I strongly recommend it for couples for long weekends.

The hotel was very good, especially for the price that I paid (which I think was reduced). The most pleasing aspect however was the service from the staff, which was excellent.

Clean, spacious rooms. Breakfasts offered tons of food and good service. We stayed at 2 other hotels which had higher ratings but smaller rooms and no internet access. The in-hotel computer and free wifi were a big plus.

The location of this hotel, situated in one of the oldest parts of the city, was excellent. There is a self guided walking tour (in Frommers) that includes walking right past the hotel. All major sights were easily within walking distance and only a few minutes walk to the U-Bahn and Strassen Bahn. All the staff were very friendly and eager to help with places to go and good restaurants. If one is seeking to enjoy more of the local flavor, Hotel Kartnerhof is the place to stay. Because the Hotel was booked we only got to stay one night and spent the rest of our time at the Hilton. The rooms are on the small size, but very livable. Free wireless connection is definitely a plus. Although the Hilton was nice, we missed the personal touch of the Hotel Kartnerhoff. Plus with the Hilton we had to pay for internet connection. We will most definitely stay at the Hotel Kartnerhoff again.

The hotel is well located. The rooms are small and badly laid out and the furniture is sparse and very old. The beds (which were separated, one on one wall and the other away on another wall) were small and uncomfortable. The bathroom was small but it was good enough. Although very old the hotel is kept clean. The breakfast was very good with a very good choice of breads (buns). All in all, I would rate my stay at 6, except for the breakfast which I rate at 9.

The hotel is located in the heart of the old section. It is close to all the inner city sights. The staff was most helpful, both the daystaff and the night staff. The breakfast was very substantial and plentiful. My room was Medium to small but fully equiped. There is a restaraunt out front which could be noisy until about 10:00. Anything we needed or wanted to see was accomodated by the desk staff. We were very pleased with our stay.

The hotel is extremely well located for the airport bus, the Ring tram routes, the metro and all central 'attractions'. The staff are both pleasant and efficient. The hotel is very clean and the buffet breakfast adequate.Numerous excellent and reasonable restaurants are but a few yards away. A most pleasant experience.

The Kartnerhof proved an excellent and hospitable hotel although the location is a little away from the more interesting areas in Berlin it is well served by public transport and we had a most enjoyable stay. This was our first time in Berlin and the Kartnerhof clientel were predominantly business people which is appropriate to the location and the services provided.

This was a gem right in the middle of the old city. The service was excellent, the rooms spacious and comfortable and the food most acceptable. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and will certainly stay there again if we visit Vienna

very good location, kind and helpfull staff, nice buffet breakfast, good value for money, quiet rooms althogh in the center, good matress. It was the little things that we did not like: very simple room interior decor which we did not like and around the sink area was not enaaugh space for the shaving and staff we needed, also towels were not soft, and toilet paper was thick. but on the overall we got a fare price for a good locaation and a nice hotel.

The Karntnerhoff is great value for money. The location is in the middle of the best area of Vienna for bars, restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions. The hotel is comfortable, very well managed and friendly. I think it would appeal to all ages. I think it deserves an extra star.

While the hotel isn't five-star, it provided excellent value for money and was very clean and well-kept. I would stay there again and recommend it to others. Take note, there are no tea/coffee or fridge facilities, but I understand that's quite normal in Austria.

A nice hotel in an excellent location - almost everything you would want to see is within walking distance. And for those that aren't, the u-Bahn isn't far away. The restaurant next door was OK, and there's a good place for WienerSchnitzel not far away either - Figlmuller. We stayed for 3 nights in the week before Christmas. If you're in Vienna at this time of year you should go to the Christmas markets at the Rathaus and Schonnbrun Palace.

This hotel is in an excellent location for sightseeing in Vienna, situated down a quiet street yet within walking distance of St Stephens Cathedral and other main attractions. It offers excellent value for money. The hotel is old and very charming yet the rooms were well equipped and very clean. Lovely hot chocolate and viennese pancakes in the pub next door. Would highly recommend for a sightseeing trip.

Very comfortable and competent small hotel situated in a cul-de-sac hence very quiet well paced near the centre of Old Vienna good value (Venere rates less than those advertised in the room). Our room was spacious on the second floor at the front of the hotel, would certainly use this hotel again.

Hotel is very well located close to many restaurants and just three minutes from the cathedral. Our room triple was on the sixth floor and the lift only goes to the fifth. Rooms was ok if somewhat spartan and main room light is too white and bright. No shower curtain and very small TV. The price is high for the room quality but is worth it for the location. Staff very good

we Stayed in this hotel on two occasions this trip first for 4 days and later overnight.the first stay the room was OK but one drawback was the dreaded plastic shower curtain that chases you around shower. No airconditioning so could be hot in summer and a bit of noise from the street. Our second stay we were allocated a room on the 5th floor much better room faced onto the rear very quite and a modern shower with glass screen still no aircon but not aproblem in September. very good breakfast and central to St Stephens and only a short walk from the airport bus terminal.

A little noisy (that may be a function of the room we got) but very welcoming, well-run little inn only steps from the Stephansdom. Austrian hospitality at its best.
