Capital of Poland, since the 17th Century, and completely destroyed during the Second World War, Warsaw has been rebuilt and restored into its original shape.
Don't miss the Old Town where you can find several typical restaurants that offer a traditional cuisine, the Market Square, a meeting place for artists, the Royal Palace, the Gothic Cathedral of Saint John, the Holy Cross Church where lies the heart of Fryderyk Chopin, the Palace of Culture and Science, the monument of the Unknown Soldier and the monument dedicated to the famous Nicolò Copernico astronomer.
Following the Vistula, the river that pass through Warsaw, you will reach the marvellous Ujazdowski Castle, the Lazienki Palace and park, the house of the last king of Poland, and the Presidential Palace of Belvedere and Wilanów, the country house of King John the Third.
At Zelazowa Wolla (34 miles away from Warsaw) you can visit the villa where Fryderyk Chopin was born, today a museum where, on request, you can attend to a concert of the famous composer.
