aerial view
It is situated on the countryside with a view on the Towers of San Gimignano.
The Casale Gregoriano offers an accommodation on superior level, elegantly refurbished
apartments that still preserve the warm of Tuscan tradition. They are very fine with the barrel-vaults or the cross-vaults at the first floor, and the chest-beamed ceiling that
suits very well the high quality furnishing. The bathrooms are all in marble.

The weather was very warm when we arrived in Italy 42 degrees . The town of San Gimignano was easy to find , finding the Casale Gregoriano was difficult the map wasn't very good and the hotel's own sign was not clear . The Casale Gregoriano is on the slopes of the hill a little way out of San Gimigano in a very quiet area . There are very few staff if any other than the one man doing reception and breakfast . The reception was locked up when we arrived in the afternoon and the contact phone number did not work . The rooms are spacious but could do with a refurb the bathroom looked tiered . there was no A/C and as we stayed only one night that was oK . There was a pool on site with loungers . Parking was across the road in a secure car park used by the local camp site . The Casale is close to San Gimignano which has some very nice cafes for meals and is a pretty place to see but can be very busy .

By Australian standards, the price is scandalous (high season and a poor exchange rate). By the standard of hotels we used in Italy this place was spacious, clean and relatively good value for money. The reception is not manned very often - ring a number and someone drives over. The view to San Gimignano was wonderful. Expensive but very nice. Instructions on how to get there were poor although it is close to San Gimignano. Instructions say 1K, more like 2K and Italian road sinage is poor. It took us about 20 minutes in a car to find the place including a visit to the centre of San Gimignano by accident. No complaints, value for money and some little things can be improved. I would recommend to my friends with a decent map and a warning about the price in Australian dollars. Thanks for your assistance in booking Casale Gregoriano

This was an absolutely beautiful property--renovated apt. in a very old building--overlooking Tuscany. The father of the owner was wonderful--however, the owner himself was rude on several occasions. The distance to the town of San Gimignano was about a 30 min. walk--although a bus stop was across the street, it was inconvenient getting into town.

In a self catering room which we got for three people, the towels and bedsheets were not changed daily although there were towel radiators in the bathroom so this wasn't a problem. The dining room, bedroom area and bathroom were all spacious and decor was excellent. No onsite restaurant though and Sam Gimignano the nearest town was a good 40 min walk to go for dinner, which is the only drawback. Having said that, I'd book here again.

The room was clean and spacious, but though it was totally standard. We stayed few days without even someone thought to change towels or sanitary equipment. I don't know about the other rooms, but our room was below anopther apartment and you could wake up early in the morning of noises coming from the apartment above. The douche was so narrow that I was lucky not to be 5kg more, then I wouldn't be able to move there at all :) In my opinion, the price they charge is way too expensive comparing what you get. I must say that the location is pretty good though.

Okay. Staff not very attentive; had to ask for fresh towels. Setting is beautiful, exterior areas very pretty. They have some air-conditioned rooms but were unwilling to change our room to one of those. The front desk person was not always there. Best part is location and setting in country-side.

Because the lack of air condition I would think twice before renting this in the summertime. Otherwise it was very nice.

A very pleasant appartment for a family, on walking distance to (and with a great view on)San Giminagno.

Excellent location and atmosphere; shared garden rather small but this was really of little consequence with such a wonderful view of San Giminango. Overall very good value, brick vaulted ceilings are a must - the only small quibble I would have is that some of the cooking implements (especially knives etc) could do with replacing. However, cleanliness and quality of service very good, with apartments recently and modernly but sympathetically furnished, and well planned. Would definitely return.
