The apartment was not where it was listed. And not easy to find. No one was there to meet us. There is NO reception desk, as advertised. After waiting and then buying a phone card and calling the number on the information sheet, we made contact with someone from the company. We were taken to another apartment which was different than what I signed on for. The only saving grace was Antonella who works for the apartment owner. She is a delight! So wonderful & helpful. However, the apartment was small and had significant water damage and mold. The hallways were filthy & had dog excrement. The door locks stick & are difficult to use without substantial fiddling.

We travelled with two small children, hence it was convenient with a spacious appartement, washing machine, terrace and kitchen facilities. We were a bit surprised when we discovered that the appartement actually was located at another adress than we were told on the internet. But this appartement was much more central and the neighbourhood was nicer, so we were happy with that! We also got a lot of help from the staff finding our lost luggage at the airport. In general, we are very satisfied with our stay!

Like the city itself, this apartment was unusual. The first place we stayed at during our 4-week holiday in Italy (we sampled 7 hotels), in retrospect it was acceptable in most respects. It was very difficult to find, so hiring a taxi from the train station is a must. We did not, and only found it after much trundling (people were extraordinarily kind and attempted to help, but almost no English spoken and the location was on a very small street). Positives included a relatively roomy space, a kitchen, washer (no dryer but there were racks provided), relatively close to the sights. Negatives included power shut-downs (more below), a poorly-equipped kitchen, a tiny balcony (safe for your laundry only) that looked over (very close) to an abandoned building. At first the location seemed to be a “bad part of town” but we subsequently found that most of the city (the parts we saw) looked like that. We were a family of four: we had two double beds. One was fine, but the second was worn out and sloped to the centre. The power shut down meant complete blackness, so we had to stumble down to the main floor to find the electrical panel (we had been warned but no flashlight was provided); blackouts happened at least once every night (not sure whether it was just the building or more generalized). Cash is required up front when you arrive, which feels a little intimidating. There is of course no “front desk” but they do meet you when you arrive (pre-arranged time) and they leave you with a phone number to contact (we never did use it). So of course the other negative is that there is no readily available person to help you with questions. So, overall, an acceptable apartment if you do not require hotel facilities and if you book it at a low price.

rooms are large with full kitchens with dishes, cups and utensils provided. there is no lobby area, we were met at the airport by their hostess and brought us to the hotel and gave us our keys to the room of out choosing. the hotel is centrally located in the port area near the botanical gardens, museums, restaurants and the train station.

We stayed for 2 weeks and very much enjoyed our time there. Our reception was friendly and helpful, with lots of tips and information. The apartment itself was fine if a bit basic. Rooms are spacious although really our kitchen, living room and bedroom were all the same space, a bit like a bed-sit, but pleasant enough, with a small balcony. The shower is a bit small and claustrophobic but the bathroom is a fair size with plentiful hot water. The kitchen was fine but low on utensils. The oven is electric with a calor gas hob. A spare canister of gas would be useful, if you ran out half way through cooking dinner then you would be stuck. There is a modern air conditioner but this can cause the main fuse to trip and you have to go downstairs to reset it. There are two apartments on the same circuit and this aggravates the problem. This seriously inhibits its use and you must have the windows open, making it is very noisy. The switch tripped 15 times in our first four days. This needs urgent attention. During the second week this didn't happen and we were much more comfortable, the next apartment was empty for much of that time. The apartment is indeed in the old city, which is being restored. Slightly bemused tourists are to be found wandering around as, at the moment, much of the area is either dilapidated or a building site. This is a poor residential area not yet geared up to tourism. We had no problems but if you go to La Kalsa, and much of Palermo, expecting it to be like Seville you may be disappointed, even shocked. Don't let this stop you going but be aware. Five years from now the area will be completely changed. The apartment is well placed for exploring the city. You are 50 metres from a road facing the bay with a broad pavement with two excellent, busy gelaterias and a restaurant. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and you can reach most of the main sites easily on foot or by bus. The superb Botanical Gardens are just down the end of the road.

Very clean and spacious, with good facilities: bathroom, kitchen, etc. and efficient air conditioning. No common areas made the stay more independent, as though we were renting an apartment. Staff were helpful though slightly abrupt, and cash on arrival was unusual. Overall, location was good, near to station, and we experienced no problems.

We had a great time at Casa Giuditta. It is difficult to find a place like it in the old center of Palermo. The appartments are very confortable, the neibourghood is agreable, and the surrondings are wonderful.

The apartment was spacious and more than adequate for our needs with a notable exception: the power went out regularly. We had to go downstairs to the lobby to flip the breaker any number of times. Disconcerting, and the response of "It's just like that in Italy" was not consistent with our other experiences.
Also, "Limited parking" means on street parking, not just "uncovered parking" as represented. Sometimes an issue.
Overall, a good base of operations and a good place to stay that would be improved with attention to these two issues.
